A seriously unsettling thing about this (and I know this has probably been said already) is the Stepbrother's attitude towards Cody. He suplexes him onto the floor and hurls him through a doorway with that shit-eating grin of his. He's thoroughly enjoying hurting his younger brother because it makes him money. If that isn't a sign of psychopathy, I don't know what is.

And then he makes a rap song about how sorry he is and how much he wishes he could hug Cody, now that his favorite toy is taken away. And he also wishes death on Cody's mom.

Jake is a strange, creepy child.

I can only imagine the messages he's gotten from his mother and Mike about Cody and Cody's mother. I mean, Heather and Mike told Cody his mom "threw him away" so, I'm sure Jake picked up on that. I also really think Jake might be sorry but dude is surviving and it's a "hey its not ME being beat" kind of vibe I'm getting.

being raised poor sucks ass. I hated it and I hate seeing other people/kids get put through it. it's bad enough to never have nice stuff and/or get smacked when you're too loud.

but..when the parents are such obvious con artists and attention whores, it's a totally different thing.

this isn't working class antics. this isn't even white trash antics. regular people who smack their kids around don't aim to get on the tee-vee and make money from it, they do it just to shut the little bastards up because they're tired.

this is NOT normal shit.

Am I the only here who has absolutely no sympathy for Jake?

Someone who throws his younger brothers around and tries to traumatise them on a daily basis for the sake of a few dollars in his account doesn't deserve my sympathy. He's just as bad as the parents, and he's the third abusive con-artist in this scheme.

Nah. Back when this started I remember someone mentioning how amusing it was that everyone was A-logging a kid and no one felt bad about it. If the kid's even half as twisted as the hatefuck spawn of Ms. Piggy and Sloth from The Goonies that he calls a mother then I don't think anyone's going to feel a shred of sympathy for him

Jake's self-admitted desire to harm/kill Rose, combined with his history of sadism within the family leads me to think he's more likely to shoot up any school (referencing the poll) rather than Cody.

Professional help should definitely be given to him, alongside Cody obviously.

I voted for Jake in the poll. He's a fucked up, sadistic teenager who doesn't care who he hurts. Cody seems like he doesn't want to hurt anyone, so I have no idea why people would vote for him other than stigmatizing mental illness.

He's a jerk. The only reason I feel a little bit sorry for him is because he obviously learned that behavior from his awful parents.

It's not like he's a murderer or anything. He could still get his head straight, if he ever has a real role model who can show him that being a dumb piece of shit is no way to go through life. This is kind of why we don't generally have threads on under 18s unless they've been really precocious like by stabbing someone or something.

Jake has a chance to grow up and get his act together, and I do kind of feel bad for him since his dad is more or less trying to ensure that he remains an asshole. The kid's in for a rude awakening once he realizes the rest of the world isn't going to applaud him when he acts like a dick.

Look at that video. Listen to the way she speaks to Cody. She absolutely despises him, and he knows it. Look at his face and listen to what he is saying to her. She doesn't care one bit. It's disgusting, but it shows exactly how she feels about him. That isn't acting. That isn't fake. That isn't new. That isn't going to just go away. In fact, it may now get worse.

I know that this was posted over two weeks ago, but I'm just now reading all of this. That video provoked such strong feelings from me that I just have to comment on it.

To a child, being lost and separated from their parents in public is fucking terrifying. I still vividly remember being 7 or 8 years old and losing my family in a grocery store. I just kept getting more and more stressed, overwhelmed, and scared until they finally found me. I remember running to my mom and being overcome with relief.

I cannot imagine how much worse Cody must have felt during that experience. My parents lost sight of me on accident and immediately tried to find me. My parents comforted me when they saw how upset I was. Cody's parents put him through that fear on purpose because they thought it would be a SICK FUCKING PRANK, BRUH. They hid and giggled while they watched him get more and more anxious and scared. The only reason they stopped is because Cody (smart kid he is) quickly approached a nice-looking couple to get their help. And then they had the fucking audacity to call him "salty" and make fun of him for taking their SICK PRANK too seriously... even though he reacted the way any normal child would react.

Thank God he's out of that fucking house now.
