People Are Even More Outraged At Keira Knightley’s Comments On The “Harry Potter” Boycott After Seeing New Footage Of Her Laughing Mid-Response

“What’s so funny, Keira?”

Earlier this week, Keira Knightley was asked about her role in the upcoming audio adaptation of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books.

Keira will voice Professor Umbridge in the books, which are set to be released via Audible between November 2025 and May 2026. More than 200 voice actors are partaking in the project, including James McAvoy, Kit Harington, and Ruth Wilson.

Of course, numerous fans have boycotted the Harry Potter franchise due to J.K.'s anti-trans statements. However, Keira said she was “not aware” of the backlash when asked to share her thoughts in an interview with Decider.

“I’m very sorry,” she said before adding, “I think we're all living in a period of time right now where we're all going to have to figure out how to live together, aren't we? And we've all got very different opinions. I hope that we can all find respect.”

And while Keira’s comments sparked backlash when released by Decider, people are now even more outraged after seeing the footage of her response. In a new video shared by the outlet, Keira lets out a laugh after saying that she was “very sorry” — and when suggesting that “we're all going to have to figure out how to live together,” she appears to have a slight smirk on her face. You can see the response for yourself here:

Reacting to the footage, several fans described Keira’s tone and general demeanor as “condescending” and “patronizing.” “Absolutely bizarre reaction,” one Reddit user said, while another wrote, “The fucking giggle… yikes.”

“That angry burst of a 'laugh' after she says she's sorry…” someone said. “What’s so funny, Keira?” another user questioned.

“Omg it is sooo much worse,” one person said of the video footage compared to the transcript. Another user agreed, “Oh wow, that's so much worse. She looks pissed that she was even asked about this, but what did she expect when she took the job?! Also, this is an insanely privileged take, bloody hell.”

This one is funniest to me. Trannies really still think people give a fuck about appeasing them? This isn’t going to do shit to Keira. It’ll probably make her more popular tbh.
It's also funny to me that they immediately start calling her a cunt and a bitch over a woman giving her opinion.

What she said, or didn't say, was pretty toothless.

But yeah, immediately starting with that shit is one way to get me on your side, yup yup! Keep doing it, "girls"! Slay queens

Hogwarts Legacy was Troon Waterloo. They spent months shrieking hysterically how anybody who bought the game was LITERALLY KILLING TRANS CHILDREN. And millions upon millions of people ignored them and bought it anyway. For every publication bitching about JKR Transphobia, there were a few dozen that gave the game favorable reviews. It was the first time in years that troons didn't get their way, and it was completely predictable. They honestly had the idea that they could bully a AAA game company the way they can bully random "TERFs" on social media. And when they failed, they showed the rest of the world that you can get away with ignoring trannies.

Was that before or after the Bud Light troon debacle? That incident taught corporate America that the public isn't always going to put up with having trannies shoved down their throats.

Why are they constantly saying that a total lack of validation is the difference between life and death? They always screech about how Rowling's opinions are going to kill them and just wind up sounding like lunatics. We're finally at the point where more and more people are choosing to ignore their histrionics.

And why do they think Kiera is going to have the foggiest notion of their boycott? Actors have grueling work. They're constantly traveling, having to memorize lines, get into character, rehearse, and be willing to say and do the same things over and over again all day until the director is finally happy. And in their off-time, they're usually busy hob-knobbing with other Hollywood bigwigs so they can keep getting roles and work, not hanging out on Reddit with a bunch of troons who are collectively pissing themselves with the fear that JKR is going to send her dementors to suck out their womanly souls.

No, JKR doesn't hide under your bed with the boogeyman, waiting to kill little trans children. You guys are doing a good enough job of that yourselves.

The troons could write off the Dylan Mulvaney idiocy as redneck Christofascist Taliban antics. But they thought they had co-opted the gaming space to the point where only a few isolated chuds and bigots dared question them. Hogwarts Legacy brought home the fact that most gamers didn't give a shit about their pet causes and would happily see them 41% en masse if it meant playing the latest Harry Potter game.

Bud Light was another big wake-up call for major corporations. At the end of the day, they're in the game to make money. While there's lots of booze sold at gay bars, there's a lot more booze sold to blue-collar and working-class Americans. And since you can't buy beer with food stamps, the troon market is pretty much irrelevant to their game.

Rape and death threats yet?
Maybe they can send David Tennant round her house for some strong words.

Just an FYI, 'Amara', it's very commonplace among True and Honest women to refer to eachother as 'uppity cunts' - literally using the language of the stereotypical fat, gross, beer-swilling, string vest wearing, hairy back having woman-hater. That's just a thing women do. Very commonplace. #justgirlythings
Don't forget hoping she'd choke on a broken twig. No obvious symbolism there.

I figure a lot of people screeching are mad because they know her from Pirates of the Caribbean and they think her becoming "Pirate King" means she was trans so because she portrayed a character like that she has to be on their side!

Even though Pirates was a big hit, I don't think it was as big in the fanfic-hardcore-dork scene as Potter, so it might have less trans fans to enrage.
Never heard of her but I don't read children's books and it's hilarious if they think they can predict or force a "new Harry Potter".
Disney is absolutely arrogant enough to think they can force a hit by tossing money at something. Modern Disney doesn't know when they've produced something that's actually quality (see how under-marketed Frozen was at first) or something that sucks (they really really wanted people to like Wish but it looked boring and generic and no one cared).
Disney got big because their movies were well-crafted and audiences loved them. Nu-Star Wars, Wish, Strange World - all are pretty meh and audiences are greeting them with a collective shrug. My friend's kids love Jujitsu Kaisen, not Elio. I'm expecting trick-or-treaters dressed up like K-Pop Demon Hunters this year, not Rey Skywalker.
Ironically, it kind of mirrors the thwarted desires of the trans. You can't force people to like you. You can threaten them into pretending to like you, you can coerce them into saying that Strange World was good cause they're afraid that saying it wasn't will be twisted against them, but you can't force someone to actually go see it twelve times.
The ugly-ass "live action remakes" like Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King and Aladdin, are like "passing HSTS's" in this (tortured, embarassing) metaphor: they look sorta like the thing you remember liking, so you like them, too, but without the actually-good original, they're nothing, and they misunderstand what made the original great, so everything they do is uncanny and subtley wrong and makes no sense if you stop to think about it for more than six seconds, and then you realize that in a way they're almost insulting the original that you actually like.
wealthy people are evil
Yeah, this message will really resonate coming from *checks notes* the Walt Disney corporation.

I find it deliciously hypocrite how they were all over Emma Watson for being so mature by giving a fake olive branch to Rowling but now they are mad at Keira saying we should try to live together.

Honestly in my experience, that's a really big tell who's a tranny when it comes to Twitter/Insta/Reddit selfies: the way they pose is almost always unnaturally porny or they're wearing stupid shit an actual woman wouldn't be caught dead wearing.
Yes! The selfies are always so weird! Also, weird angle (maybe from being tall?) and uncanny ability to make a shot from a modern phone look like it was taken from a cheap old one- like there’s grease on the lens or something.

It's good that some actors have evidently not turned down the work. I'm only sad we're still at the 'I am sorry, I didn't realise anything, can't we all just get along' nonpology stage instead of the 'fuck you personally and your trannie madness, everything JK Rowling has said about troons is morally, logically and obviously correct, troon supporters are a deranged and morally bankrupt class who butcher children and wield the power of the State to silence resistors' stage.
Don't worry, eighteen months from now Keira Knightly will be a shitposter telling AGP dads to ACK themselves.

Dylan Man-crazy started posting his "Days of Twink Death Girlhood" in March of 2022, and, like noted troon-buddy and dead-eyed grift-machine Mr. Beast, just kept posting incessantly for a year. Hogwarts Legacy came out on February 10th, 2023, to widespread acclaim and troon whinging. A mere fifty days later, the Bud Light ad aired on April 1st, to coincide with March Madness (lol why). Bud Light sales have continued to decline and Dylan Mulvaney has continued to retain sodium while looking like a lollipop-headed boy in Peking opera make-up. Hope this helps.
