The newest video is a good recap and it has some info that I didn't know about. Dire Trip definitely is one of the best especially when it comes to regular uploads.
 
Dire is saying they a lot in the latest video, was she not a pooner? Or just so mentally ill she didnt even know?
 
Jewtube has removed dire trip's latest video for violating ToS (probably because he didn't suck pooner rotdog by calling the pooner fucker "he" the entire time).

Just watched the new Savox video about a couple of evil wrestlers, and got major deja vu from one of them:


Around 10:45 into the video, he discusses an absolute bizarre and obscure wrestler from the 90's, who I swear I've seen before in a video from someone like Whang or WhatCulture. Anyway, some crazy fat bastard in a local Memphis-based promotion tried to be a silly gimmick character combining Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Ric Flair, and the Ultimate Warrior -- "Macho Warrior Ric Hogan".

Anyway, despite being blatantly retarded nightmare fuel, the scariest part is that he would eventually be arrested for possessing CP, hence why everyone forgot about him. His real name is Mike Imburgia, and although there's not much information on him, after digging a bit I found out I'm pretty sure he has a [dead] Twitter and [dead] Youtube channel. His Twitter handle (Doomer529) has a relation to one of his wrestling personas called Tower of Doom. In his Youtube uploads, his voice sounds similar to the promo video used in the Savox clip. Pretty uncanny and crazy.
 
Interloper appears to be finally over.
I think it was pretty obvious once the SKYGHOST shit got added and the regurgitation of the dumb Lucy avatar that it became more storytelling than anything trying to resemble an actual ARG anymore. This video did a good in-universe explanation spelling out that none of the progress being made over the course of the videos should have made sense to anybody thinking it was an actual ARG. ARG-jacking is actually a great story concept that hasn't been explored nearly enough, so I was happy to see that was the direction they took it.
Predictably trooner/reddit tier storytelling at points but you usually run the danger of that when something like this gains so much traction and you feel forced to keep writing. Petscop ran into a similar fate.
Ultimately hope he does more Source engine story telling despite how I've felt about it, the technical aspects of what was achieved are pretty incredible regardless of what you feel about the story and the community around it.

What happened with Petscop is such a shame. It started out really well before the first hiatus between episodes 10 and 11. The Newmaker connection and storytelling was blatant so the creator freaking out when it got picked up and pointed out by game theory and changing the story to be about Paul = pooner Care was such a disappointment.

He made the right call making 3dwi.scr a 30 minute self contained story - he has fantastic ideas, it's just clear he needs to keep his writing closed and succinct rather than letting external influences fuck with him.

I'm so fucking glad that he knew when to call it a day. It was really veering on collapsing with all of the inevitable bullshit that was cropping up.

Petscop was some good fucking shit. I remember getting multiple unsettling dreams about it (One of which happened to resemble 3D Workers Island years before that was a thing).
I agree that the ending was a disappointment though. I still need to read Tapers...


Also, forgot to put it in the thread but there's some more Angel Hare now. Haven't watched it yet.

I kinda agree, the plot twist of "Anomi actually has his own agenda" came out of nowhere and the way he managed to get control of one of the umbrella men is utterly contrived. But the concept of "void space contains memories" seems to fit the story quite well and it's better to wrap it up than to drag it out for several more years with no payout.

Honestly, I liked that the ending was just an outright ARG-jack like that. I never kept up with the community or discord and only watched the youtube, but the progress made in the videos honestly made little sense for an actual ARG and it was really hard to have suspension of disbelief over the idea it was a community-driven investigation.

Little things like the weird interactions with Eida and his attempts to derail Anomi's investigation for unknown reasons were also probably tied to this plot in case they needed to use it in case of emergency. On reflection, Eida probably worked out the memory thing himself and chose to torture the Monas whether due to a personal grudge with someone he recognised or just wanting to be malicious.

I'd rather have this be the ending than something even worse and pooner-tier.
 
Just watched the finale of Interloper.
Oh, wow. It's like the ending to Petscop except even worse.
Halfway through the video all pretense of watchability is dropped and it's just someone typing console commands and speaking in technobabble. Occasionally someone imitates teh penguin of doom.
It's officially entered "bad creepypasta" level and all believably has been dropped.
Why the hell wasn't there more DM Editor? Instead there's this ridiculously fake "sourcebox" program with a cringy 90's CGI interface because that's what the author goons to.
My disappointment with "mystery box" indie media continues. Like Petscop, it definitely feels like something else was planned,
I think that the episode where he explores the void in the XBOX version is officially where it jumped the shark.
