She said 3 inches so we're looking at stuff more like this shitty thing here:

Which is being sold for 15 bucks and has a production run of 25 according to the site

Will people even back these enough to succeed? They look so off and Orobas looks slightly creepy, I can't imagine them being that appealing. I guess this is what happens when she loses Exty's superior ability to design cute merch.

Also I like how these figures lean as bad as the figures in her art do.
Eh, we thought the plushies from another kickstarter were going to fail (although she did make an obvious panic stretch goal) but it ended up getting fully funded. She has a wealth of cash whales following her.

PK finally brings magenta horsecock into 3D.

Are you sure you're thinking of PK, and not BadDragon.com? Wait....nvm....is there a difference?

Orobas's head is so flat and her face seems so. Off. Like the nose is too scrunched up like a bootleg MLP toy (which I guess she pretty much is). Beleth, though. They look awkward. The face and the posture is a bit messed up. The lack of a neck really doesn't lend well to 3d. Their head is set too far back! These figures would need a lot of improvement.

Echoing this, and what everyone else is saying. Orobas looked really REALLY off when I first saw that preview yesterday. Tbh....I just think she looks....ugly? Her face is too flat (similar to her doll) but at least the nose is popping out a LITTLE unlike her doll. Red Beleth is kind of cute, but his head is so far back he'd possibly fall over. Hopefully the base will prevent that from happening (if it's thick and heavy enough, which it doesn't look like from the previews) Orobas is ugly, but I guess at least her head is centered.

Who knows. Her last one managed to pull a Christmas Miracle somehow. I'm honestly interested to see what the Kickstarted goal will be for this one.

It makes me sad when I see a cool person interact with PK. barf

How light are 3 inch vinyl figures about anyway? Her not even in contact with the sculptor is a bad idea and makes me think that ESCToy (who did her plushies...well the protypes anyway) is having an under-paid intern do these models.

I realize most of these companies --could-- have multiple people working on it and rarely give credit to the single individual who does it (if there is one). That's not exactly un-heard of, so I could let that slide. but dude...not even being able to give FEEDBACK? Not having COMMUNICATION during the sculpting process? Not communicating to fix and tweek things that are off? Huge huge HUGE red flag....but PK doesn't seem to be bothered by it. Is even the most basic of common sense beyond her? I know I know...the answer is, and will always be "yes".

I know fucked up hands/wrists are a constant in flora but what the absolute fuck, PK.

That bothered me too. Even by fantasy standards. A hand/paw does not bend at a sharp 90 degree angle.

That reminds me of those MLP grab bag figures. The quality can be quite shoddy, the paint can leak into other parts like slopopop said. 3 inches tall is actually a downfall because that actually makes it MORE difficult to get the paint accurate. It might be a good idea to go six or even just 5 inches to help alleviate that. But like someone else said, she's probably going for the cheapest route.

Is it me or does Orobas's tail look weird? In the figure it's skinny and resembles a cat of some kind's tail but in the comics it (somewhat) looks more like a horse's tail and was pretty fat?

Yes, it does. I actually kind of thought of a cat's tail too so it's funny you should mention that. It seems to be skinnier than her tail in the comics, and it's pretty smooth save for the hearts. Even just giving it more thickness and putting some "fur/hair" tufts popping out here and there would be good. But again: cheapest route, no communication or feedback, etc.

Orobas looks so off-model and weird. It's bothered me since I first saw it, and I thought the other two looked cute, at least. Still, that one looks like the most balanced of the trio, so ehhhh.

Y'know when I first saw the figures I didn't think they were too bad, and actually kind of cute. I didn't even notice that Beleth's head was so off center until you pointed it out.

Now I can't not notice it, and any feelings of "well they're kind of cute" are now outweighed by the fact that her head looks like it's going to slide back.
Just
Plop right off.

I... ditto.

It's not amazing, but it's not the worst. It reminds me of Funko POP! quality stuff, y'know, cheapish (the paint that bleeds onto other parts of the figure and that are chipped off in some parts really adds to that feel). Which in my opinion isn't the worst; lots of people like Funko POP as shown by their popularity, and the fact that the price is also really cheap makes it reasonable.

I hate those ugly fucking things with a passion. There's only a handful of cute ones, like Dogmeat. The non-human ones tend to look passable to me, but regular Funko's.... gshghgs. Not that I don't understand the appeal of cheaper figures since high-quality ones require you to either sell your soul or your better kidney. Anyways, paint bleeding out of bounds on a figure is hideous, and I can't wait to see the finished products now...

I'm dead serious here... for a split-second, when I first saw the pictures... I was sure it was the fucking poolnoodle, because for some reason I didn't even remember her having a tail. (Prolly because the dick has been focused on way more than any other part of her body... except maybe the asshole. :()

Overall, not too bad except looking too top-heavy and can easily be snapped off the base on accident. She actually has a more interesting pose than Red Beleth at least...
I know there was a 3-inch constraint (well at least I think there is) but I would have preferred her to be taller (Probably because she's one of the taller characters). And I don't know if this is just me but it seems like something's... off? I can't really put my finger on it, other than that she looks decent (despite the top heaviness)

Maybe I'm thinking too much on this, please tell me if I am

Minor corrections to Orobas based on what I think would look better. Widened her snout and did a small red line for the side profile. I think her pose is fine but her tail needed to look less thin and like a cats and I think her eyes could be rounded out a bit more.

I think out of all of them Amdusias is the best looking one. I'm not a fan of her legs, though. I know it's following the original design of the character but I just don't see how that could work and not snap off of the base. I actually expected them to use her tale for balance for that figure and I'm surprised they didn't.

Agreed. I could totally see that Amdusias figure snapping off the base by mistake. Those feet are like tooth picks. That is a huge fucking design flaw. I know it's supposed to be a "style" thing, but that doesn't always work when you're translating from 2D to 3d. If she doesn't catch that she's blind.

It's almost as if you need to consider some basic anatomy when designing your characters if you plan to make merchandise out of them

Gotta give credit where it's due. I'm actually impressed that whoever sculpted these manage to make them work at all, given how shoddy PK's designs tend to be. And that doesn't take into account how often she changes the proportion of her characters.

There is a reason why many of us feel the models are off, and that has to do with the design of the character itself.
PK does not know anatomy. She does not know how a character is supposed to look in 3D when she draws. That's why whatever merchandises she creates end up having that uncanny valley look.

Translating 2D to 3D usually requires providing the sculptor a proper reference sheet to work from. When your reference sheet is bad, there's nothing much the sculptor can actually do do fix the bad design without changing the proportion.
Eyes being too close is the biggest offender for PK. Putting them like this CAN work, but only in the hands of a professional, just look at Dory and other characters from Pixar/Disney.
When your ref looks like the right... there's not much you can do to fix this.

I think the base the sculptor includes in the models are giving them extra support but whew Orobas looks uncanny as hell.
Yeah, also I assume it's understood these models aren't toys, so they shouldn't really be in a position to be snapped anyway.

Not that I think they're terribly good figurines; even the "chibi" versions of Asmudias always looked strange to me. She loses her silhouette when done in this style and almost doesn't read as the same character to me. But whatever the fans will buy I guess.

Honestly just getting something shipped can snap em. There was a popular figure in a fandom I was in a while bacl that had ridiculously fragile parts like that and people were reporting that they got it broken in the mail, despite how wrapped up and shit it was.

While true, to avoid this you can just ship the figurine in parts and require the customer to put the figure on the base. The skinny legs aren't as big a deal as people are making it out to be.
