Silent Rob VS AlphaOmegaSin
Bill "AlphaOmegaSin" Arensberg
was a former YouTube game ranter, who retired from making full time content in 2019, after producing 1,000 videos. He started his channel in August 2008, just about a year after Rob. Alpha was known for getting into spats with Anita Sarkeesian during the height of Gamergate which amassed him most of his subscribers; around 500k at the channels peak. Rob claims Alpha once texted him that he was a big inspiration, but Rob has said this about anyone who associated with him who later finds success on YouTube. Before his channel took off, he made garden variety video game collecting videos (note the video game shelf behind him in the picture) and rants about topics that interested him. Outside of his long hair and metal band attire, he's also most known for being 5'1'', which earned him the nickname AlphaOmegaGnome. He also has a slight speech impediment, where he pronounces the "th" phonic with a "d" sound. (It's noticeable)
The Hatebit Podcast
Rob and Alpha became "friends" through co-hosting
the Hatebit Podcast. The podcast was hosted by
a weirdo named YellKaos and typically consisted a panel of 4 gaming adjacent YouTubers, talking about current events in gaming. It's a bit bland all around. Rob was initially just a guest, but got involved with the podcast in Season 2 as a substitute for Razorfist who was on an extended vacation. Fans at the time, actually preferred Rob and wanted him to become a permanent panelist. This format was a good fit for Rob. He was able to improvise jokes for a larger audience and mingle with YouTubers that could possibly help him out in the future. Rob wasn't interested in sticking around. Either due to lack of interest or his general flakiness. He also thought The Sainted Magnus (DFE) was a huge faggot and did not want to be grilled about his truancy. Rob no-showed the Season 2 finale, which they had commissioned artwork of Rob for. Many of the commenters wondered why Rob was so Silent, not realizing he wasn't there.
Sometime after Rob's departure from the Hatebit podcast, Rob stated they deleted many of his appearances on the show from their archive.
"And I'm not tooting my own horn by saying that. I was the best one on that podcast. That podcast got way more views because I was on it, so eat a fucking dick!" ~ Rob on the Hatebit Podcast
The Too Many Games 2015 Incident
June 26th - June 28th, 2015 Oaks Pennsylvania
Rob's beef with Alpha originated in 2015, when Rob and his brother drove down to Too Many Games 2015 to hang out with AlphaOmegaSin. Rob alledged that Alpha and him had been texting and Alpha had personally invited him to hang out at the convention.
Rob and his brother drove 8 and a half hours to this convention, then 8 and a half back.
Rob texted Alpha the entire trip to the convention, making plans to hang out, but when Rob and his Brother arrived, Alpha pretended not to see Rob. In Rob's defense, he is a 6ft 1in tall ginger and pretty hard to miss.
"I met that motherfucker at the Too Many Games Expo and I wish I didn't. He's acting like he doesn't know me." ~ Rob on Alpha at Too Many Games
The details of what exactly Alpha did or didn't do at the convention are unclear. Afterwards, Rob tried to contact Alpha, but he didn't reply. Rob thought Alpha was too good to associate with Silent Rob, now that he had big e-celebrity friends. A big point of contention was Alpha had never shouted out Silent Rob, which Rob felt owed since he inspired Alpha and all. Sometime in 2016, Alpha unsubscribed to Rob's channel and in retaliation, Rob removed Alpha from his recommended channels section.
Instead of accepting Alpha wanted to cut ties with him, Rob fired up his most infamous stream detailing why he no longer associates with AlphaOmegaSin.
The "Fuck AlphaOmegaSin Stream" 05/05/2016
This was actually two separate streams. The first was a brief stream of Salt & Sanctuary, the second stream took place right after was Diablo III. Rob streamed from his PS4 using the proprietary app on the console. You'll notice the right sidebar chat that only supports 3-4 chats at a time. On this day, Rob left early from work sick and decided to air out all his grievances with AlphaOmegaSin about 4 minutes into the above compilation.
Key points:
- Rob tried reaching out to Alpha several times, but he stopped engaging.
- Alpha was getting too popular and didn't want to associate with Rob anymore.
- Alpha makes low-quality videos just repeating news verbatim.
Rob felt Alpha did not earn his subscriber base, because of his low effort style of just reading current events in gaming.
He said Alpha was being duplicitous towards the Angry Video Game Nerd. Back when Rob and Alpha co-hosted the Hatebit podcast, Alpha would rip on James Rolfe (AVGN) and Mike Matei, but changed his tune about them when he was invited to collaborate with Cinemassacre. Rob saw this as hypocritical of Alpha. Perhaps there was a deeper issue at play? Afterall, Rob was one of the first white knights to defend James "AVGN" Rolfe from the evil plagiarist Irate Gamer. Where was Rob's invitation? Where was the Silent Rob panel at Too Many Games?

Rob's 2nd stream started to gain momentum, the more he trashed AlphaOmegaSin. Rob outwardly denounces the prospect of being a full-time streamer or content producer as a job. He recounted how he had promoted and shouted out Alpha's channel several times, but the favor was never returned. So Rob proceeds to shout-out all the members of his chat to demonstrate how little effort it takes to show appreciation. His rant about Alpha resonated with many people in his chat, as they also had a bone to pick with Alpha's sell-out era. Even TheArchfiend, former foe of Silent Rob participated in the tomato throwing.
"
YouTube isn't my actual source of income. I have a big boy job." ~ Rob on how YouTube isn't reality
"
If YouTube actually relied on talent, then most of these motherfuckers wouldn't get views." ~ Rob on the algorithm.
"Current events channels is exactly what you do when you have nothing." - Rob on Alpha's content
"
Give me one funny Alpha one-liner. One single line that Alpha has ever said that was funny. Fuck. There ya go. That's the funniest Alpha line." ~Rob on Alpha's comedy
"
He doesn't say "the" he says "duh". I wanna talk about DIS. He doesn't say the "th's" - Rob on Alpha's speech impediment
For the first time in years, Rob's stream made waves across the retro gaming community and the VOD of his stream became his most viewed stream ever. A day later on May 6th, 2016, Razorfist was asked by a fan on his Tumblr to weigh in on Rob's Fuck AlphaOmegaSin stream.
Razorfist's Tumblr Post
I wasn’t even aware of any beef until just now. I don’t know what went down, all I can say is that Silent Rob is a boss, and a genuinely chill,
terminally talented motherfucker (and a damn fine replacement when I was on a brief hiatus from the podcast)… and Alpha is easily the nicest, most genuine, give-the-shirt-off-his-back generous dude I’ve ever encountered on the broiling cesspit of aberrant humanity that is YouTube. I haven’t hung with Alpha in awhile, but that’s honestly my fault. He’s reached out a bunch of times, invited me to Conventions, to be on websites and so forth, and I’ve either been too busy or distracted to respond properly. Rob was MIA for awhile, so it goes without saying that I haven’t interacted with the cat for a minute. But we’ve never had a cross word for each other. And those parodies we
both did of each other are still some of my favorite moments on the interwebs.
TL;DR - Fuck e-drama and the flopping-tittied turbotwats that consume it. I’m friends with both. (I suppose this makes me the unofficial Jim Norton of the Hate-Bit Podcast) They’re both big boys, and they don’t need my advice (or, for that matter,
yours) to patch up their shit.
Godspeed!
-
RazörFist
To Razor's credit, he mostly stayed neutral on the subject, but did want to see the beef squashed. He even gave Rob high praise, calling him a terminally talented motherfucker, thanking Rob for filling in for him on the Hatebit. The stream would continue to gain traction among other gaming youtubers, until it reached its intended target. A couple of months later in August at the 2016 Game-on Expo, Alpha would be questioned about the fallout between him and Silent Rob.
AlphaOmegaSin & Happy Console Gamer asked about Silent Rob
This clip is the only surviving footage of AlphaOmegaSin's Game-On Expo panel. If you have the archive, please post it to Kiwi Farms.
- Alpha claimed Rob already ended the beef online, but did not specify what Rob said.
- He claimed that it was all a misunderstanding on Rob's behalf.
This panel was uploaded to an obscure YouTube channel (now deleted) and Alpha's response did not reach Rob until October 2016. Once Rob watched the clip, he turned on his PS4 and fired up the streaming app.
AlphaOmegaSin is a Lying Sack of Shit Stream 10/20/2016
- Rob remarks how Dayton, Ohio is filled with hostile drug addicts.
"It's just like motherfucker please. I just got off work! And you're trying to ask me for money for free!? But I'm not just going to give you money for no reason. Especially when I know you're just going to use it on drugs." ~ Past Rob on Future Rob
- Around 9:00 into the above compilation, Rob comments on Alpha.
- "Fuck Alpha. He's still a bitch. Everything I said about him was true."
- "Alpha looks like the guys trying to sell me heroin in Dayton. I went into the Burger King bathroom and I was like is that Alpha? Go talk about Mighty No.9 again. Get your life together." ~ Rob accusing Alpha of being a washed up druggie
- Rob says a fan sent him the clip of Alpha's panel where he said Rob admitted fault. Rob said this conversation never happened.
- Rob said they did talk on the phone, but it was ALPHA that admitted he fucked up and Rob apologized about shitting on Alpha's mother.
- "If I was there you wouldn't have said that, because I would have given you a SOUL SLAP! Knock the soul out yo fuckin body. Knock the speech impediment out of yo face!" ~ Rob on slapping Alpha
After this stream, Rob would continue to bring Alpha up on his Facebook group Face Destroyers United and several more times on future streams. Desperate to dig up any dirt on Alpha to drum up more drama, Rob would invite an autistic man named
Cloud Ocelot on a call with Asalieri to expose Alpha once and for all. Read the full article for more information. Alpha never directly responded to Rob's many attempts to get his attention, but he did take one slight jab at Rob on the Hatebit Podcast, a few months later.
- The panel was YellKaos, Razorfist and AlphaOmegaSin.
- Apropos of nothing, Alpha makes a joke about Ohio and YellKaos asks him "Wait, was there meth!?" Alpha recognizes Yell is referencing Rob. Alpha does joke about how he "sold drugs" which is likely a reference to Rob's Burger King bathroom bit about him. He also makes a slight reference to the Too Many Games incident by says it was "on the cusp of Pennsylvania and Ohio," which is in reference to Rob's trip.
- Yell asks "were there skinny red haired folks?" Alpha "There was a few." Yell: "Then it was possible there was meth!"
- Yell references Rob's issue with Patreon which causes Razorfist to burst out in laughter.
- Then Alpha makes a slightly prophetic statement about Rob. This is 7 years prior to Rob's ultimate fent crashout.
- Alpha "When they're trying to buy meth you won't see them for a while, then they're back bitches."
- "They're not dead bitches. Not yet." Then Alpha laughs into the camera.
This would be the last known time Alpha would ever comment publicly on Silent Rob. He had clocked Rob for the drug addict loser he was, years before anyone else. This clip got back to Rob and he went full swing into production on the next video.
The Shit Bit Crapcast
In this video, Rob is dressed like AlphaOmegaSin and walks around on his knees, mocking his height. He lays out all the issues with Alpha's videos and basically treats him like a fake gamer girl. He jokes about Alpha going trans at one point. Not only does he take shots at Alpha, but now Yell Kaos and Razorfist (who had praised Rob and remained neutral) were caught in the crossfire. Rob brings up Razorfist's Encyclopedia Dramatica article where there was a collage of photos of Razor jerking off in the shape of a swastika. He doesn't have much to say about Yell Kaos, so he just makes a bunch of retarded noises. In Rob's defense, nobody knows anything about Yell Kaos, so he worked with what he had. He also mocks his ex-girlfriend Courtney, who was known for being addicted to ciggies and young boys.
A couple of years later, Rob would make a sequel to The Shitbit Crapcast.
Dats Bullshiet: Legend of the missing fruit snack
The whole skit is about Alpha looking for his missing fruit snack. There's a buffalo bill parody scene where Rob plays Razorfist, putting on lipstick and mocking his overabundance of alliteration. Overall, it's a good example of Rob's comedy and him putting actual effort into videos.
- Rob would later remark that his editor DrunkenPunk took too long to edit this 3 minute video and he didn't deserve to be paid for his work.
- He would also mock his cameraman, his wife Anni for not holding the camera steady and laughing the whole time.
- Alpha would not respond.
As for what happened to AlphaOmegaSin? Many speculate that during the great adpocalypse on YouTube, many accounts that posted edgy content or were gamergate adjacent were getting demonitized. Alpha's videos were news stories where he ranted and swore about feminism in games. Instead of continuing to pursue YouTube as a career, he went back to college, found a job at a bank and spent more time with his family. Alpha has never officially retired in the same sense as Spoony, but he has all but abandoned his nearly 500k+ subscribers.
The closest Alpha ever came to addressing his departure from YouTube came from a random (now deleted) stream where he addresses the accusations that he was only in it for the money, an accusation started by Rob and he talks about how he has better priorities outside of YouTube.
Alpha, by all accounts had everything Rob wanted, but gracefully bowed out before he crashed out. Rob, on the other hand, had spent years watching a guy he inspired surpass him on all conceivable fronts. Even 10 years after the Too Many Games Incident, Rob would not let the shame of Alpha ignoring him go.
Rob is still seething about Alpha at Too Many Games - January 2025
In the end, AlphaOmegaSin won this feud, by refusing to engage with Rob. He saw for Rob for what he was, well before anyone else.
