This is most likely. Even if current admin is outwardly less hostile towards communities like this, this admin is more than willing to do shady shit or even shed blood on things it deems possibly adversarial. As far as the glowies are concerned kiwifarms is functionally wiki leaks and 4chan combined into one threat surface, except harder to consensus break due to accounts. Easier to just destroy it with CP spam, something the powers that be and their plausible deniability proxies are more than willing to do.
Some version of self-hosted capcha, a non-refundable financial cost to rapid account creation, or just finding this guy specifically and making it more annoying for the feds to NOT staple his balls to the inside of a jail cell.

I recently worked for a semi-shady company providing a semi-shady SaaS that contracted with one of these companies (I guess you could call them proxy brokers).

What you describe is exactly how these "residential proxies" work. Some dipshit installs Super Free Cool VPN, not knowing that he's basically letting his computer be used as a proxy for Indian and Vietnamese guys farming crypto airdrops or doing even shadier stuff.

1.7 million is probably not even 1% of the amount of bots on that website.

Let's say everyone on earth died tomorrow except you and you knew 100% that this was a fact. If you went on the internet you probably wouldn't see a difference. That's how fucked it is.
 
Just turning off uploads for non T&H posters seems like a fine idea. If someone has something they need to upload they can ask a mod nicely

I wonder what percentage of users upload anyway? It can't be that high.

Edit: You all can rate my post dumb but you can't deny closing registrations will be a slow painful death.

Given what he has posted, it should be legal to put a bullet in him on sight.

Maybe customized invites is the final solution we need. Trusted accounts only, and tied directly to an accounts email so if it gets leaked, the account who sent it out can be banned outright. Just till we got an unbreakable captcha.
