NV on the other hand sure, NV is the only game where Unarmed feels like an actual new weapon category instead of kind of being lumped with Melee.
It's always annoying that Piercing Strike affects both Melee Weapons and Unarmed, but required Unarmed. Run 'n Gun required Guns 45 OR Energy Weapons 45, so why not Piercing Strike?

Oh well, at least we can laugh at how silly Jury Rigging is. Even with this games famously frantic development, they had to have noticed it just breaks the game in half, right?

Actually as a question to the thread: how would YOU balance Jury Rigging? Personally, I would leave clothing and light armor as separate categories and make the perk only affect armor, not weapons. This would still make the perk a huge help, especially for Melee Weapons/Unarmed builds who are going to be in the fray a lot more, without being busted.

huh, this explains why:

side note, who the fuck is walton goggins?
They're going to find that kid face down in the wastes (shower) with a back full of shiv and an ass full of cum. At the end of the day, you're still just a smoothskin (nigger). With a faggot smoothskin (nigger) son! And where's the respect in that?! Huh?! Where's the respect in that?!
he was the gay cowboy in Django Unchained

Quentin Tarentino can make good movies but good lord does he NEED to have one of those scenes in literally every single movie he makes? Fuck man the movies are good until then and then it just leaves a sour taste in your mouth. I really, really didn't need to see Walton Goggins fondle Jamie Foxx's penis.
he was zesty
and, to be fair, he was under orders to cut it off
Love my Kenshiro larp runs.
What larp?
You are the road warrior cleansing the tainted wastes with the raw power of your fists.

If I remember correctly, the reason is that they were unfamiliar with the engine and only knew how to make perk prerequisites conjunctive, so perks that affected two skills and were implemented early (like Super Slam! and Piercing Strike) picked only one of the skills as a prerequisite. They later figured out how to add disjunctive prerequisites, so Run 'n Gun could require 45 points in either Guns or Energy Weapons, but either forgot to fix the earlier perks or simply didn't have enough time to do it.

I don't think it needs to be balanced at all. It's a single-player game so there's no PVP to affect, and an unbalanced design increases its replay value since even after you've seen every ending, you can still enjoy going back and trying to make a character that's even more stupidly overpowered than your last one.

I'm finally glad people are getting pissed at Bugthesda but how long did it take sloptubers? Hell if large elements of 3/4, 76, or the show didn't do it, what would?

I bet they're the type who say "Fallout was never serious," when SPECIAL was developed because they originally were going to use GURPS but the violence and depravity of the setting and opening cutscene made them say no to not associate their brand with it. They'll point to the Easter eggs in 2 but then not listen to the developers who actually lamented the sheer amount of them and the community believing it's the worst part about the game. New Vegas would go to square the circle to lock all the silly stuff behind a perk to those who liked it so both people get what they want.

Probably one of those things that was deemed as "good enough" and never looked at again during development.

Make it so Jury Rigging only works on guns and not armor/clothing.

Not to go off topic but its funny to imagine that Goggins grabbing a cock is what leaves a sour taste in someones mouth from django of all movies.
lol the workers at repconn that took stealth boys and starting sexually arrasing workers were pajeets. what did obsidian meant by this?

Weird sounding name for a jeet unless you mistook Sanjeev for being him.

I bet they're the type who say "Fallout was never serious,"
Whenever i hear a fan say this it just tells me that they can't take something that looks silly on the outside seriously and assume the creatives must have intended it to be taken as a joke so they ignore the layers said silly thing has to make it less silly, Fallout can have silly and light hearted moments but they aren't the majority of the tone.

People have been bitching about bethesda since fucking Daggerfall, how late are you?
Actually as a question to the thread: how would YOU balance Jury Rigging?
I think you could maybe tighten up what "similar" means when it comes to what items can repair what, or make the level it unlocks much higher so it's more of a mid-late game boon. But it takes 90 repair and doesn't unlock till lvl 14 I think. Pretty big stat dump that early into the game imo, so it's fine as is. Rewards you for the stat investment.

New Reno is the best part and it's ridiculous in the best way. I love how it will almost always be a degenerate shithole along with the origins of Wasteland meth, Jet.
It's also got the best new track in the game: "Biggest Little City In The World"

The soundtrack of the old games is a severely understated reason for why the games are so good. I especially love Mark Morgan's work with one. The soundtrack for the fan game Fallout Sonora also has an extremely good soundtrack.

The 3d games seem to forget this though New Vegas comes the closest to matching the iso games in ambient soundtracks.

Inon Zur did a good job for 3 and NV, but the direction he was given for 4 was just way worse.

4 is just way worse in every way except gunplay. Even on the topic of guns, practically all the guns sucked except the Handman Rifle, aka The AK, and a few others. It's really strange that all the guns have such a shit design when 3/NV had at least solid designs for all the weapons. Why did weapon design take such a turn for the worse?

The old chestnut of Adam Adamowicz's death, and I suspect the change of guns to being extremely modular for the mod system core to the weapons in the game. While I'd say it is more than possible to make them look good and be very compatible, as many gun mods, especially from Commonwealth weaponry and the total conversion teams (FOLON and F4NV), do look good, I suspect it drove visual design for the worse.

Weird that you guys don't like Zur's work in 4. I'd say that's up there with New Vegas for best soundtrack in the series. Heck NV is basically cheating since it has like 4 games worth of good soundtrack (1, 2, 3, itself)

As per usual, Far Harbor knocks everything else out of the park. This one even has a little NV motif.
Nah, Redding is better.
You have discovered
WRECKED HIGHWAYMAN

It seems like Bethesda desperately wants their own hahaha le whacky "I'm Pickle Rick!" lolsorandum Borderlands series that all the soyteens jerk off over and instead of making a new IP they're just trying to turn Fallout into that.

Does anyone have a link to EVERY Van Buren design doc? I've always wanted to read them but I'm afraid of finding an incomplete collection.
