Aaron addressed the Mikey interview today:
It's mostly just Aaron shitting on Karl from Rochester.
This is the first time I've watched Aaron's show at length, because Aaron tends to talk in circles and repeat himself. As little as his detractors like the idea, Aaron is very charismatic.
Having charisma doesn't make someone a good person; they can be a total piece of shit and still be charismatic. Successful used car salesmen are charismatic and charm you right into buying the shittiest car on the lot and paying too much for it. I imagine that Bernie Madoff was very charismatic, and that's how he convinced all those rich people to throw huge chunks of their personal assets into the sucking hole of his pyramid scheme.
And Aaron is charismatic. He comes off as a jolly guy who will talk to anyone and doesn't dwell on the small shit too much. From his history with this whole fiasco, he seems like he gives people the benefit of the doubt before considering them an enemy. He's even charitable to Karl and Tookie in this clip, painting Karl as somewhat of a dimwit who got talked into the jail interview mess, and Tookie (or Rocco) as an innocent side character who just picked the wrong day to go on the wrong show. He places the blame on Moody for leading the others astray. And he had a lot of nice, sympathetic things to say about poor Mikie.
Why does it matter? Because the Toe A-logs vehemently deny that Aaron has any good qualities whatsoever, including charisma. He's boring, he's dumb, he's this, he's that...blah blah blah. The evidence is there for anyone to see, that AA-Ron comes off as likeable and relatable in spite of his flaws and bad life decisions.
Am I a big Aaron fan now? Well, no. I'm not planning to start watching the Toe, because he doesn't talk about things that interest me veey often and tends to repeat himself quite a bit, so I'll pass. But watching this segment, in my mind, made his detractors look really, really bad, like they're grasping at straws and even making shit up about Aaron to keep the hatefest alive---for clicks, and YouTube bux.
Aaron cheated on his first wife and talked shit about her on his show, and that's bad. Aaron slept with other women while married to April, and slept with a woman who was married to someone else (Kayla), and that's bad. Aaron let someone else fuck his wife, and that's bad. Aaron did drugs, and that's bad. Aaron walked into a house where the kids were living in filth and begging for Spaghettios, walked back out, and said nothing to anyone until AFTER the arrest, and that's really, REALLY bad. But trying to paint Aaron as some unlikeable ogre with no charisma just isn't true, and Moody (and his audience) just found that out the hard way.
