Chance can be characterized as extremely dumb and gullible, however he is smart enough to know what he does is wrong and (attempt to) manipulate people to avoid consequences. He's dumb but I think he's smarter than appears and plays into it under certain circumstances.

The endgame of this court trolling is to get cyrax to believe the judge"s final judgment is an injunction that says Cyrax has to live in a house with cameras, where people can pay money to fuck with him 24/7 a la fishtank. It's literally the only way to make his life financially viable.

There's been signs before where I've wondered if he's trying to convince us/others that something is happening despite it not being visible/audible, or if he has just genuinely begun to develop schizophrenia
