Most of the people who are pissed about it are just pissed about smelling it everywhere, I mean there are certain cities where it’s jsut all you smell all the time like parts of NYC. We don’t let people in most states get drunk in public

The kvetching about this "weed ban" is fucking hilarious.

No, if your state legalized weed you will still be able to get it. For states who haven't legalized it, it will still be illegal. If your state hasn't legalized it, right now you have sketchy ass stores selling sketchy ass weed that is technically legal due to one of the Farm bills passed during Trump 1. This was not an intended effect. This just closes that loophole.

It's really not healthy to have a legal black market with no regulations. Since that bill did not include any regulation or rules for this "legal weed" (again, because that wasn't the purpose of the fucking bill), a lot of the stuff being sold does not have to be tested, so it carries a big risk of being toxic, unhealthy, and worse for you than legal weed already is.

Go buy some weed off of your local nigger, I'm glad this bill is putting money back into black neighborhoods.

as I’ve mentioned earlier the legal weed industry has lobbied for this changed since 2020 because the legal market doesn’t wanna compete with the gray market

You joke but this will actually put money back into local businesses in states with legal pot instead of large federal corporations

literally will never agree with you on anything else, but this.

alcohol is objectively more harmful on both a personal and societal level. it's not the potheads driving under the influence that kills people, it's fucking alcoholics. alcoholics are prone to violence as well. don't see too many violent potheads (yes I saw the article in a&h about a girl killing her friend because she got high and hallucinated, but this isn't a common occurrence, hence why it's considered 'news'). also there's the whole personal health thing, where alcohol fucks your shit up in a multitude of ways, and it's so physically addictive that quitting cold-turkey will kill you. weed isn't perfect, either, but you can quit at any time (theoretically) without severe withdrawals.

point is, both are vices, one is more dangerous than the other, yet continues to be legal because turtles people like Mitch McConnell are paid by the alcohol lobby.
