I am interested in using AI to build a tool to auto flag illegal content. I believe this can be trivially achieved using last gen cards and open source models.

I've received offers of free hardware in the past. I know AI is this really hot thing right now so I'm hoping there are companies people work for phasing out 4000/5000 Adas for 6000s and I can get ahold of that.

If you have access to this let me know please.

are you just running a NSFW image filter locally or something more advanced? they tend to be pretty light weight and reasonably accurate these days.

you could easily run images through a gauntlet of nsfw classifiers and approve anything caught manually later, but you would still have to store that data somewhere so a malicious actor could still report you for it.

it won't work well with drawn or AI content though. discord uses something way more advanced and has trouble with that

ADA's seem to be a type of card specifically made for use-cases such as AI training and raw data processing, rather than games and media. They're different types of cards.

Be sure to look into Chinese methods. They've been doing far better on AI, especially on efficiency.

Also on a technical note/question. How would this AI be fed information and not result in you having hard drives of illegal materials (it needs that to learn, right?) I'm not a comsci guy. Also I'll see what I got card wise I might have an old one.

Thing is that Nvidia phased out NVLink on Ada, even on the A5000 Ada workstation GPU's, because Jensen is a shady smarmy greedy cunt. That is not to say you can't pool non-NVLink GPU's together, and I doubt you'll be losing much performance without NVLink and splitting the work between the cards software side, having Ada over Ampere here will still be significantly beneficial in both performance and power consumption.

For example, PewDiePie took a bunch of A4000 Ada GPU's and pooled them together in Linux into 160GB of usable VRAM total to run bigger LLM's, or multiple workloads at once sharing that pooled VRAM.
