Hope this isn’t too off-topic, but how would such a mosaicism affect him? Will his children (if he can have them) have the same thing passed on from him?

Back on topic, as he has a Y chromosome, I’m assuming he’s male because this mosaicism doesn’t create a different sex no matter the array of Xs and Ys? Even though I’m sure our trans friends will claim he’s truly ‘intersex’ and ‘has both functioning sets of genitalia’ and other such rubbish.

It will depend. Mainly these individuals are infertile, and their gonads don’t work very well in general. The sperm are formed by halving the chromosomes and packaging each half into a spermatozoa, so of there’s an uneven number the process doesn’t work well. It’ll totally depend on the makeup of the tissue involved. You do sometimes get normal cells there, and sometimes almost normal sperm. So it’s not impossible but it’s individual specific and impossible to say at this point. If I had to put money on it I’d say more likely infertile,

The child's parents identified him as male, and I'm assuming that he will too as he gets older. People with chromosomal mosaicism or triploidies, even non-fatal ones like Down syndrome, Trisomy X, or Klinefelter's syndrome, usually are.

ETA: People who have a chromosomal arrangement other than 46,xx or 46,xy are usually infertile. Sorry, forgot to include that word. They may be able to function normally sexually, but they cannot have children of their own.

I have an open hole in my chest where a hematoma was drained. Now it will leak constantly until it heals.
I had a gender affirming bilateral mastectomy (AKA FTM top surgery) on November 7th. The hematoma was drained yesterday. The pictures were taken this morning. I’d be happy to answer any questions in the comments!

OP in the comments explaining that this was pretty much going to happen no matter what she did:
To answer your question, yes I did have drains on both sides put in, as well as compression wraps/garments. Unfortunately hematomas and seromas are just a common complication of top surgery since so much tissue is removed, leaving that empty cavity to fill while the skin adheres to the muscle/fascia again. Sometimes they just happen no matter what you do. My hematoma was literally as far away from the drain as possible so I have a feeling it pooled there and then got isolated from the rest of the cavity, but I’m not sure.

OP: Oh my goddd that sounds AWFUL. I’m so glad it turned out okay for her and that she was able to access IV pain medication. I can’t even imagine.

My hematoma wasn’t from a drain, actually I still have my drains in from the initial surgery. I’m not too sure what caused the hematoma exactly, but they’re a fairly common complication of top surgery regardless of drain use (though it is more common with surgery methods that don’t use drains, for obvious reasons)

My wife is 1.5 years post op, but she had a rough go of things during recovery and still has trouble with dilation, tight pelvic floor muscles, granulation tissue, etc. So we are limited on what we can do, because too much friction inside will make it difficult for her to dilate for a week or two. Currently we can't really do penetrative sex with her receiving beyond a gentle finger.

The inside of her vagina feels very similar to a natal vagina IMHO, but she definitely needs plenty of lube bc self lubrication is very minimal. (Of course this is not the dividing line between cis and trans bc plenty of people with natal vaginas don't self lubricate much.) She likes the same types of stimulation that your average everyday vagina owner would, too. Like me she enjoys, but can't orgasm from, oral sex and gets off easiest with a vibrator plus penetration.

All in all I would say having sex with her is about like having sex with a cis woman with vaginismus or something like that. The only other difference is that her vagina is higher maintenance with the required dilation, internal medication, and probiotic douches that she does.

Edit to add: there are a couple anatomical differences that she has that afaik are fairly common with current surgical techniques. The angle to get into the vagina is a bit different, like you distinctly have to go down toward her backside then in. And the reconstructed urethra is rather prominent, to the point where if you didn't know, you might think it was the vaginal opening.

I had meta, UL, scrotoplasty, vaginectomy, and implants almost 15 weeks ago. I am more of a grower than a shower and I was able to penetrate the only woman I had PIV sex with pre op. Not much to report. I still have stitches that have not dissolved underneath my dick, but I see my surgeon Nov 10th for my next appointment. Swelling has gone down a lot. My dick is still pretty much hidden and I have to move skin around it to expose it and play with it but I’m okay with that. Losing fat and future revisions will help. Jerking off is way better than pre op and even though I don’t have a bulge I can still feel my dick and balls and I know they are there. Knowing that and not having a vagina has been an absolute game-changer for me. I suspected full meta would alleviate my dysphoria and it has. My right nut still has not dropped, so that will likely be one of the revisions. I am also patient and know it can take up to a year for my sack to fully drop and my penis to be in its final form. I really enjoy peeing standing even though I have to drop my pants to do so. The biggest cylinder for the pump I got is too small, so I need to buy a new one, but I can still use it for the time being. Overall very happy with my surgery and blessed to be able to continue to live my life as who I am.

Correct. It's called ascended testis and often requires surgery. Some dudes have retractile testes from childhood and don't realize it's unusual to even mention to the doctor... until one gets stuck. Sometimes it's a surprise out of the blue. If you have testicles, make sure you tell someone if they go walkabout.
