Believe it or not this was my very first introduction to the Deus Ex games. There used to be this online video game playlist containing both original and remixed video game songs, I don't recall the name but it had a blue-orange color scheme. And that remix was the very first time I've ever come to learn of something called Deus Ex.

I just got the Revision mod installed and working, damn Im not used to how clunky the game feels, you got such a slow lean. I Played and Beat Deus Ex Human Revolution so I figured it was time to see how the OG is.
 
I cannot get past the second mission, I am utterly lost in NYC, no fucking map, no objective pointer. I am at my wits end. So tempted to quit the game its pissing me off. it has been DAYS now. Where the fuck is the god damn generator?!

Why are you locked in the bathroom playing a mod over the original game? Revision is a complete overhaul of Deus Ex, it's not the same (or did you set it up to be similar to it?) Either way, get the original working with this guide.

I already own the steam version... sigh I did a replay from the start with vanilla gameplay and maps and now the game broke AGAIN and refuses to allow me to pick up beers despite making space in my inventory this game is shitshow of bugs.

there is no point to owning the steam version, ion storm is dead and eidos is full of french faggots, also the game has no achievements and steam profile shieet.
just pirate the GOG and if you want to rack up game hours just keep the DX launcher running.

I persisted with the steam version, I am pretty far now mission 9 of 13, love this game. :)

Almost done Mission 12, Walton Simons was pathetic, I just ran at him and cut him down with the dragons tooth sword.

Edit: Beat the game, choose Dark Age ending, saved the game at Bob Page so I can come back later to do the other endings.

Has anyone on here tried out the demos of that new 'Machine God' (DX1-IW interquel) mod? I haven't (what little free time I still have for DX, I'm putting into trying to find the new secrets recently added to TNM) so please do inform me whether it's ass or not before I play it myself. They do seem to have gotten up to an 0.6 build since they started last November. Apparently the creator has also managed to get Jay Anthony Franke himself to voice JC again for the mod.

On that note, Franke definitely knows about that one clip of JC ranting about how American culture is centered around niggers. (Alas, as he isn't the character he's voicing, he's seething about it.)

Its actually fucking amazing how many old steam games aren't working when old cds, gog and exo work (pray we get to 2000 their sooner than later). Even back in the day Deus Ex was busted on Steam. A shit platform everyone pretends is the goat
 
Anything made before 2006-2008 is generally best to buy off GOG. There's less incentive to make old games playable out of the box on Steam. Even early 7th gen games are probably better on GOG these days, so maybe 2009-2011.
