I fast from 5:30pm to 11:50am every day no issue. Home, bored? I'm up 6am and eating every other hour. It's hell.Start fasting and get a hobby.
I think your problem is hat you try to replace the urge with other things and always fail. The trick would be is to change the way you think and psychologically reduce and finally give up the urge completely.I fast from 5:30pm to 11:50am every day no issue. Home, bored? I'm up 6am and eating every other hour. It's hell.
"oh go for a walk, do this and that" you cant go for a walk 5 days in a row. I've no creative urges and games have become boring. Cycling was fun for a few years but flats, expensive clothing, keeping the bike clean and getting sick if I do go biking has ruined that.
That definitely helps. Avoid diet soda. The sweeteners fuck with your insulin and end up making you hungrier, specifically for carbs, leading to a lot of people consuming more carbs/sugar than they do when just drinking normal soda.I curbed my craving for soda with carbonated water. I imagine that could also work for boredom eating.
Oh I'm 100% on board with it. I've worked alternating shifts and I literally can't eat 4 hours before bed lest I suffer the whole next day. I eat dinner early and am done digesting in time to stretch or whatever in the time slot you'd otherwise spend cooking. I'm fine feeling hungry and it's not what I'm trying to sate. It's literally just boredom. At this point I have to force myself to do things just to avoid ending up eating. I do buy snacks for the weekend and I honestly don't know why, I can end up trashing half the bag when I realize I've no desire for it. Ironically I'd rather snack on like.. semi-healthy cereal or fruit juices.Fasting would be good for the sole purpose of being used to feeling perpetually hungry and maybe try to associate an empty stomach with a calm sate of mind.
How about replacing shitsnacks with other stuff?Oh I'm 100% on board with it. I've worked alternating shifts and I literally can't eat 4 hours before bed lest I suffer the whole next day. It's like I'm literally putting myself in a situation I've no natural inclination to be in. I got a week off now and I've no fucking plans, but since it's technically workdays, I've no urge to snack. It's all cultural despite being a culture I've not grown up with; snacking on the weekends.
It really is about not having the shit in your house. What sucks is when you live with people who will buy it. I lost a lot of weight when I was busy with university and working out and living on campus. Even before I moved on campus, I was commuting and would get home at 10, pass out, then wake up at 4:30 and do it all over again. There was no time to eat, except on campus when it all required purchasing, so I ate less.Ear things with little to no calories out of boredom. Problem solved.
These are absolutely not calorie free...I've known people who would eat dry oatmeal or pasta. Not my thing, but harmless and time consuming.
Sunflower seeds are a popular option but they've got a ton of salt and you can consume a significant number of calories over time.
Really, it's probably best to not replace eating with another oral habit.
This is the problem. But the issue is I used to game a lot when I was bored but it doesn't hit the same. But looking at it from a dopamine angle is the solution. That's the brain looking for dopamine. Drugs, food, pussy, whatever. Go do something you like doing besides eating.
I limited my fridge to things that require some small effort to cook and remove most of my snacksEven during hobbies or activities, it occurs.
Have you ever tried a fast? If you tell yourself you’re going to be extremely hungry for a very long time and just accept that you will feel that way, you will be less inclined to just satisfy any immediate desire. Just go hungry for a while. Like a month. It’s not that complicated.Any tips and/or what do y'all do to curb it?
