scotty kilmer's house burned down
That's what happens when you use compression connects on brake gas lines.

Scotty is often made fun of by mechanics for a reason. He has a handful of good advice, but most of it is trash or low level at best.

This parody is still the best thing Scotty ever did (he had no involvement except for blocking the author after commenting on the video).

Too soon?

Scotty uses click bait so much I don't believe what he puts on the title of the videos. He also tends to say this "X" car is bad but makes another video driving the said car and enjoying it.
I'm still surprised every now and then when his videos pop up, that he isn't dead yet. And yeah, king of the clickbait bullshit I'm pretty sure I've seen him claim he's retiring.. maybe even claimed to be dead at one point it's so ridiculous.

It helps a lot when you realize he came from doing radio bits back in the day. But instead of Click and Clack, we got Clunk.

I don't watch him anymore because all of his video titles were just click bait bullshit. I would not have been surprised if the title for this video was "parts manufacturers are driving me out of my home!"

Ah that sucks. He does seem like a genuinely nice guy, but he's definitely a bit of a crack pot.

I think I got into his channel for a couple of weeks until it became obvious his content boiled down to "Toyota good! Only Toyota!" and some advice that sounded like automotive snake oil even to my mechanically retarded mind. I think the worst one was when he encouraged people to do "Italian tune up's" in their 4-cylinder daily drivers, which usually means running your car at really high rpms to burn off excess carbon. That's something that only works in much older vehicles and some performance vehicles (supposedly diesels as well idk).

For a daily driver, you're just adding wear to your engine and possibly causing especially retarded people to potentially blow their engine redlining in their driveway. And the benefit? You might knock some carbon loose from your spark plugs, which you could replace for $100 at most if you use OEM plugs.

I did my annual undercoat last week. A touch of fluid film on every spot on the body with rust..

Do you guys do undercoats? What works well for you? Bonus points if you live in an area that salts the roads.

My shift cable is borked and i need to replace it. Car still drives, just way too much play in the gearstick and I don't want it to snap. Didn't particularly want to do it myself, so I asked my mechanic. He doesn't wanna do it either. rip.

A new one was £650 from honda, so got a used one for 50 quid. will attempt it next week, its fucking cold though and I have to remove the cat converter to unbolt it. the car is really low and it's gonna be loads of fun crawling under it *sigh*
However, i'm incredibly tempted to fit a decat 4-2-1 manifold while im doing it because... why not? more powah
