Holy shit..so now its Leanna's fault now?

They ask for donations to their site, granted some of it went to charity but some of it goes to their site and them. I assume field agenting Phil all day means devoting time also a lot of them have ads enabled on their videos about Phil.
  1. What site? I'm not aware of them having a site. I don't see mentions of donations on the SoK YouTubr channel, nor do I see any on either of Fred Fuchs, the Smashcast channel, the Twitter account, or Fred Fuchs' Twitter account.
  2. How did a portion of the money become accessible to them? I was under the impression donators submitted payment information directly to the charity organization at my.charitywater.org/fredfuchs/sonsofkojima and never went through anyone involved with SoK. Charity: Water operates on funds provided by private donors, and 100% of campaign donations go to the costs of setting up water projects.
  3. What channel(s) is(are) partnered and run ads? I have found the following are not:
  • Sons of Kojima
  • Fred Fuchs (both)
  • KINGOFCRYBABYSHD
  • RADRAD's RAD Games
  • loophold572
  • Frayhua
  • David Davidson
  • Almighty_Tevin

Look don't enjoy calling people out. I do get tired of misinformation being spread about people and groups.

The thing his detractors don't understand is that the best stuff is always things DSP did without any help from them, outside of the Jackie Chin incident. Even the Laveria stuff was pretty cringeworthy and would have been funnier if it had been left to play out naturally.

I agree 100%. I don't know when this trend started of people acting like pseudo-journalists trying to get scoops about Phil. The whole Laveria interviews, harrasing this random girl who sent a tweet, and didn't KOP call the realtor about Phil's CT condo?

I have nothing against discussion and even wild speculation but I thought we were here to watch what pile of shit Phil would step in next not go find everything about the bear who left the pile.

I did mention they give to charity. I never said they didn't. David Davidson does as well as Snort Burnell have ads that I know of..
But you can admit the dynamic of the group is a bit..culty.

Well said. And keep in mind that ads on videos aren't necessarily indicative of someone monetizing it, since it could have been copyright claimed. I think that's what bit Ardnas in the ass.

I never said you said they didn't. I asked you to clarify what you did say, which was part of the donations went to them.

Two channels out of 23 is hardly a trend. As far as I can tell none of the people who have been on SoK podcasts regularly are partnered, many don't even have YouTube accounts at all or barely use them.

Fair enough, I dont want this to turn into some back and forth. I am glad you informed me about it and set it straight. I dont defend Phil but I find they can go a bit far with Phil and at first I thought they were observers not string pullers I think after a while following someone the hate gets really strong with them and you can see it. I wonder what would happen to them when Phil finally does go away. Do you think that group will stay as tight as they are now, or wind up eating eachother?

Yeah, I think everyone can agree that they're a bit weird. It's just that the group as a whole attempting to make money off of Phil would be some incredibly huge news. That's been a sticking point for awhile.

So in your opinion what IS the end game of theirs here. Are they pushing him to quit or keeping him dangling on the hook so they can poke some more like BSV does with his donations.

Any social group has the possibility of collapsing, whether with a bang or a whisper. Big changes (e.g. graduation, moving away, opportunities to engage in certain shared activities going away) have a bigger chance of causing those collapses. I don't think it's particularly interesting to speculate on whether not they have lives outside SoK stuff, will stop socializing with each other if DSP stops being interesting, etc. Those possibilities are not unique to SoK. Users participating in this forum thread are subject to the same risks.

That's an awful lot of work in research you did for somebody who has no association with that group...

The only difference between them and say us here is that a lot of them do connect on a more personal level is it a small group (the ones who say do the streams together) and there was drama within before. Just will be interesting to see what would happen if Phil went off the radar.

I follow this stuff because it's something interesting to do. I bet they all have different motivations.

No more research than I do on other things I'm interested in. I have PMed @tihydp a few times and that's as close as my association to Soak gets. Most of the times I PM him I don't get a reply.

You seem to know more about them than I do. Is there a lot of ego stroking from within the group that you have seen?

I have no idea about that. Everything I know I see in public stuff they do or read here. I've read stuff here about them that was negative and hoped it wasn't true but generally have no way to know. That's part of why I brought this particular stuff up, so other people won't be in that position.

I read something about isolation and how it's just horrible for your mental health. I was unemployed for 3 months and living alone. Although I would see friends once a week, I could tell it was sort of effecting me. About 6 months down the line if DSP is still in isolation and doesn't have any new friends/gf he's gonna be in Howard Hughes territory I think.

DSP probably thinks he's like an introvert who deals with coworkers for 3 hours so he's fine. But he will need that face to face interaction for his mental health to stay healthy.
