There has to be a happy middle ground between he being a funny retard but still not too retarded to keep going back to jail. PraygeLet's see if it means something to The Bossman.
This is one where he really has no choice. He can't just walk out of the place and this is pretty much a last chance thing. Inpatient six month rehabs like this are for addicts who have failed over and over and can't be trusted to stay in a normal rehab. From the 6-9 thing, I assume there's some kind of process for determining at the six month point whether he gets out or does another three months.
PC or not, he’ll never be able to stay sober living with his parents. His pattern of behavior has been too deeply established in that environment. Not that there’s many good options, a halfway house/sober living house wouldn’t be that much better given that everyone there would have connections to get drugs (or just have drugs on them). The rats could put him in rehab for 10 years and he’d go back to crack and gamba in a month as long as he goes back to living with his parents when he gets out. On the bright side, that means we’re virtually guaranteed more content, but I’d be happy if he proves me wrong.
The cycle is so retarded, they just need to turn a blind eye. They don't want to put him in prison because his crimes aren't serious enough, he isn't really harming anyone but himself. All they're doing is wasting money on rehab treatment that they know won't work but it's a convenient excuse to not put him in prison. He's getting picked up over a tip that some guy gave them and sure enough they have to respond and find drugs but the police and justice system don't really care but they have to act on it.
