No form of gesturing from her? An simple nod of the head, or her reaching out to someone? And spoilers for Prime 4 ahead for those who care.

Yes, but that's literally it. Even scenes that really call for her to speak, she just...doesn't. Even when she nods or shakes her head, her head just barely moves enough to count as a gesture. No form of gesturing from her? An simple nod of the head, or her reaching out to someone?
Only time I've seen her emoting from what I've seen of the game is when She reaches out to sylux in the trailer cutscene that's also the secret ending backstory sylux cutscene for some fucking reason that retcons his motivation to being "grrrr federatiion and samus saved me from dying after i tried getting my fed crew to capture a space pirate superweapon grrr i hate the federation and samus now" bullshit...No form of gesturing from her? An simple nod of the head, or her reaching out to someone?
I don't think this means silent or "not much talking" protags need to stop being a thing as a concept, you just need them to actually emote or react, even slightly.Yes, but that's literally it. Personally I just don't think it's enough. Even if Samus had no helmet and gave facial reactions, it wouldn't make her stubborn refusal to speak any less awkward. There's literally no reason for her to remain silent. It's not like it's a role-playing game. Every time someone asked her a direct question and she just stared, I asked myself who thought this was a good idea.I don't think this means silent or "not much talking" protags need to stop being a thing as a concept, you just need them to actually emote or react, even slightly.
You wanna see what happens to silent protags that get retroactively made talky look at the dead space remake where all tension is eroded by the guy going OH SHIT! OH SHIT! every time a spooky creature appears. Both games take place in space exploring stations and shit and rely on atmosphere, it gets weird when you make the silent protag that's characterized as a stoic quiet jobguy type constantly talk.Personally I just don't think it's enough. I don't care if Samus is silent when she's alone. It's when she's actually interacting with people and won't speak that bugs me. And I want to believe Nintendo would handle things better than EA.You wanna see what happens to silent protags that get retroactively made talky look at the dead space remake where all tension is eroded by the guy going OH SHIT! Look at the people nintendo hired for metroid prime 4's writing and tell me things would be better if they made all their characters talk.I don't care if Samus is silent when she's alone. I'm sorry Metroid fans, but your series is at the mercy of shit devs.Yes, but that's literally it. Even scenes that really call for her to speak, she just...doesn't. Even when she nods or shakes her head, her head just barely moves enough to count as a gesture.
Couldn't just set it up as an neural-based texting system and have the Marines reacting to the message that she sent them? I know that it's an retarded idea, but still.I don't care if Samus is silent when she's alone. It's when she's actually interacting with people and won't speak that bugs me. You mean the bulldyke who would unironically replace an icon of female empowerment with a pooner? Which only exists as an in-joke that only an autist would discover?Look at the people nintendo hired for metroid prime 4's writing and tell me things would be better if they made all their characters talk.
Ideally I think it'd just make sense to have silent characters talk when it's thematically relevant for talking, either in implied text box options that aren't voiced but implied to be voiced like the Zelda games and other games with silent protags already do or the shit popular blatantly zelda inspired chinagame genshin impact used to do where they have voiced lines at specific emotionally important cutscenes. I say "used to do" because while those earlier cutscenes are still like that they've been increasingly making MC talk fully voiced at really weirdly prevalent times int he more recent quests and it's really awkward feeling going from the earlier quests formatting to this new thing that's more kingdom hearts-ish than botw zelda in terms of use of voice stuff.Couldn't just set it up as an neural-based texting system and have the Marines reacting to the message that she sent them? Link comes across worse in Tears. Since you can find the Tears before doing a single dungeon (or newspaper sidequest), all the stuff involving the fake Zelda is ridiculous. He could just stop and say "no that's a fake created by Ganon" but instead he lets people wander into danger. Memories worked as a vehicle with amnesia in BotW, they didn't work in Tears and I think I've mentioned this before pages ago. I think the Gylphs should have gradually appeared over time, with two or so appearing every time you clear a dungeon. It would have added a SENSE of narrative progression. It'd make cutscenes less awkward. Like they made the excuse that Wild Link was silent in his old life because of a knightly duty or whatever. But it gets to a point where he just comes across as an unfeeling asshole
But you don't understand. It's completely impossible to convey emotions solely through text and body language.Link isn't a blank slate and anyone who says such is retarded. He has personality in nearly every game since Ocarina, even if it's subtle.
First, its not Ganon, its just Goop, its Ganondorf's malice given form, they call it Ganon because probably of the past Ganondorf and that shit being attributed to him, its not the man himself at all. She's able to fight off Ganon, herself, and do it constantly for 100 years, seemingly achieving immortality as a beam of light in the process, breaking all the rules of the universe.

second, she has the full Triforce and this is how she pulls this feat off for 100 years and doesn't age or w/e, she's using it to Seal Calamity Ganon, she likely has no idea how to use it in any proper capacity, and after you beat Calamity Ganon, it vanishes, as per the Triforce rules.
its likely she had the Full Triforce the entire time, since birth, as WW Zelda inherited her Wisdom part through her bloodline, by BOTW time, the family might have had the entire fucking thing, either way, this is how it was done.

very few people know about the Triforce and what it actually does sure everyone knows of its iconography, and it represents the Tri Goddesses however few probably know its a real thing, especially by the time of BoTW, and the Triforce is based off will, Zelda lacked alot of that in BotW, your ability to "wish" is predicated on the will and strength of the person, it isn't a catchall wishgranter, if you can't muster it, it won't happen.View attachment 8324816
Look, the game calls it Ganon, so I'm treating it as Ganon, because the game says it's Ganon and it's clearly doing the TP style of Ganon, which was also actually in fact - Ganon. Also, if she had the full Triforce - the thing that is established to grant any wish.... why didn't she just Wish Ganon away instantly? Like poof - he's gone. It's badly done either way lol. The King in WW just touches the damn thing and is able to flood sunken Hyrule, it doesn't seem to need a quirky blonde girl in order to work. Ganondorf himself used it in Ocarina but it shattered because his heart was impure and out of balance.
Bro, you're just not convincing me here lol. I don't buy any of that. At best it's lore confused and convoluted, and at worst they didn't give a shit.especially by the time of BoTW, and the Triforce is based off will,
and still Calamity Ganon isn't really Ganon, is it? its just malice and energy runoff from Ganondorf
HOLY SHIT. So PC TP when? I've been so excited for this possibility ever since OoT was decomped.

Probably not for a while. N64 games already had a graphics library that handles N64 rendering that ports could use, and I think it was also still half emulated in some ways, there isn't anything like that for Gamecube yet other than this which is heavily work in progress, based on reverse engineering work done for the Metroid Prime re-implementation/pc port Metaforce which has seemingly been dead or on hiatus for a couple years now.HOLY SHIT. So PC TP when? I've been so excited for this possibility ever since OoT was decomped.
The literal plot of BOTW Ganon IIRC is ganondorf at some point returned in the past, his plans for thwarting hyrule got ruined so he tapped into some shit that destroyed his mind and body whild giving him nightmarish strength to take everything down giygas style. Difference between giygas and BOTW ganon is that ganondorf even in his mindless evil energy goo fart cloud form was gradually reforming into a coherent human being slowly but then uhhh yeahI'm pretty sure they didn't decide it wasn't actually Ganon until they were making Tears. As far as how Breath is written, it seems like it was intended to just be Ganon.

they never say Ganondorf, also its a spider because its basically a goopy computer virus and that's just a bunch of Shiekah tech it hijacked, its real form is the Goop Pig, I thought this was fuckin obvious. The literal plot of BOTW Ganon IIRC is ganondorf at some point returned in the past, his plans for thwarting hyrule got ruined so he tapped into some shit that destroyed his mind and body whild giving him nightmarish strength to take everything down giygas style.
