‘Trump’ Stabbed to Death in Central Park Performance of ‘Julius Caesar’
Shakespeare in the Park began its summer season in New York City’s Central Park last month with a “contemporary” take on the playwright’s Julius Caesar, in which the title character bears a not-so-subtle resemblance to President Donald Trump.

In an interview with Mediaite, Laura Shaeffer — who saw a recent performance of the play, which opened May 23 — said that the character of Julius Caesar in the Public Theater adaptation wears a business suit and has his hair styled in a manner similar to Trump’s.

Sheaffer added that the character of Calpurnia, Caesar’s wife, speaks with a “Slavic accent” similar to that of First Lady Melania Trump.

As happens at the end of the original play, the (Trump-inspired) Caesar is brutally stabbed to death by his associates in the Senate. Sheaffer said Caesar’s death scene was particularly graphic, with blood “spewing everywhere,” and an American flag hanging overhead.

“To be honest I thought it was shocking and distasteful,” Shaeffer told Mediaite. “If this had happened to any other president — even as recently as Barack Obama or George W. Bush — it would not have flown. People would have been horrified.”

The Trump connection in the Oskar Eustis-directed production was not intended to be subtle, though the president is reportedly never referred to by name during the show.

Et tu, brutREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
So the director thinks that Trump’s death would be a tragedy?

Got some bad news for the naysayers

As the establishment media has enthusiastically reminded us every few days, President Donald Trump has been struggling badly in the polls; in fact, his numbers at this point in his presidency have been lower than any recent president going back decades. However, Trump's historically dismal ratings are no longer quite so historic. The president's weighted average from FiveThirtyEight on Tuesday was actually better than one of his predecessors at the same point in his presidential term: Bill Clinton.

While this might not be tweetable (like the poll that found that Trump was more popular than Hillary post-inauguration), it's at least some sort of consolation for the sub-40 survey doldrums.Newsweek reports:

Different polling outfits put Trump at varying levels of approval, but the RealClearPolitics average had him at 39.8 percent Tuesday, while the weighted average from FiveThirtyEight had him at exactly 39 percent. Not great numbers, but still better than Clinton. On Day 138 of his presidency, just 37.8 percent of Americans approved of the job he was doing, according to FiveThirtyEight.

If you compare where each president stood at this point in the Gallup tracking poll, however, the two are deadlocked. The most recent Gallup survey pegged Trump's approval at 37 percent, the exact same figure the polling company found for Clinton in early June 1993. Trump's disapproval rating in the survey was far higher, however, outpacing Clinton at 57 percent to 49 percent.

So turns out that Trump beat both Clintons at being President

I mean it's just another thing he beats Bill as when it comes to being President, we all saw the difference in First Ladies a long time ago

Comey released the text of what will be his opening statement tomorrow.

In which he confirms that he told Trump multiple times that he wasn't (at least personally) under any investigation at the time of their last meeting, which means that Trump probably does have recordings of that meeting. We've also learned that Comey himself thought the Steele dossier was bullshit and warned Trump about it before it became public knowledge. As far as pressuring him to drop the investigation, nothing new has been learned and it would be a stretch to say that anything the two talked about would be construed as anything more than lightly improper, if that.

But that's not all, there's also a Senate intelligence committee hearing today with several intel chiefs present. And so far the only noteworthy thing to come of it: none of them have ever felt pressured to drop their investigations into Russian involvement.

This snippet from the r/politics thread should give you an indication as to how their taking the news:

So... I heard this on the radio (APM's Marketplace) where they mentioned that if the Wall did get built, Trump wants to put Solar Panels on it.

And, he basically had this to say about it: If you get efficient use out of the solar panels, you can generate something like 6 million megawatt hours per year. So they have all this electricity.

Which they can then go and sell to Mexico (of which there is existing infrastructure for, and you know, NAFTA) for about 6 cents a megawatt hour. That's about 400 million dollars a year. 16 BILLION over the average life span of 40 years for a solar panel. That does not factor in tax credits, discounted loans, and the like.

So, check mate, lefties! Trump can build the Wall and can get Mexico to pay for it, all without having to change a law.

Don't forget, it also helps the environment too!

So it's been a while since I've read Julieus Caesar, but the assassination happens half way through the play. Did these cunts just leave out the second half of the play where Marc Anthony gives a huge eulogy to Caesar that turns the public against the assassins and then goes on a roaring path of revenge against Brutus?

If you're going to compare Trump to fucking Caesar, I think you're missing the point since Shakespeare was not only sympathetic to him but clearly portrayed the assassins as greedy politicians who were only in it for themselves. There's missing the fucking point, and then there's having the accuracy of a North Korean missile.

I bet the Russians also hacked Comey's memo and made it look like Comey was full of shit! Let's just fucking impeach the president with no evidence he did anything wrong!
