Furry is below monstergirls. I don't even know how to explain that reasoning. While monster-anything are by definition worse than furry, it can be surmised that monstergirls precludes male homosexuality.

I'd be willing to disagree with that. Furries are abominations whereas monstergirls are just anime girls that you draw weird (which is not to say that anime girls aren't abominations).

Would it be so wrong to suggest that a number of fetishes derive from one's own personality traits?

For example, if you're naturally a submissive person outside of the bedroom, you may be more interested in being placed in a position to serve to your partner(s) sexually, and vice versa for dominant people.

To connect them with slightly more specific kinks, you could have subs being drawn to being humiliated (peeing oneself), being used and abused (asphyxiation; gangbangs), and being interested in parts of the body that could inspire feelings of submissiveness subconsciously (feet, for instance, may make somebody feel beneath another person).

Dominants like to feel in control (bondage plays a factor in this - if the other person is tied up and helpless, the dom seemingly has all the power in that moment) and are not afraid in demanding for their needs to be met (this makes them great for roles that call for natural authority figures, such as daddy/mummy, master/sir titles, and so on).

Of course, people are more complex than simple sub/dom/switch types. This is all just speculation on my part.

Essentially, just as how your own personality is largely formed and evolved, I believe that fetishes are also a mix of nature and nurture.

What I find to be really interesting are the people who have one set of personality qualities, and then a set of sexual desires/fantasies that are the complete opposite of that.

Like, how the hell are you turned on by treating people like rag dolls in the bedroom when you yourself are a doormat irl? How the fuck did your interests manage to be so schizophrenic?

I rank fetishes by how much they involve other people. It's one thing to jack off to kinky pictures in your room, it's another thing to require other people to do something to you for sexual arousal.

:powerlevel::powerlevel:Mine is low to mid tier in terms of :deviant: because people don't have to actively do anything to me. (Still feel guilty over it, though.):powerlevel::powerlevel:
is your fetish telling people you have a fetish

Well that's an easy one to answer. They feel like they are worthless in normal society, therefore they try and assert dominance sexually.

Maybe so.

How about the opposite - what about the dominant people who enjoy giving up control in the bedroom and letting themselves be dominated?

That one I can't quite answer. Maybe it shows how they are holding their partner to such a high prestige that they will let their partner do whatever they want while they remain submissive when normally they are very powerful. I suppose that could be considered intimate.

Not sure, I'm not an expert but I think psychologically the development of 'fetishes' is similar to other types of addictions, at least in the psychological aspects; smoking for example is physically addictive but is also psychologically addictive (allegedly smoking resembles comforting memories of suckling a mother's teat or a pacifier as a baby, which is why nicotine replacement alone doesn't cure the craving).

Supposedly fetishes and obsessions might be related to 'magical thinking', or the mind associating some 'quasi-magical' significance to a specific object, activity, body part.

As far as why specific fetishes develop, I'm not sure; might be related to memories of childhood security or something.

I think that breast fetishism, at least taken to an abnormal extreme (e.x. breasts the size of elephant testicles that you see in a fair amount of hentai porn) might be related to unresolved Oedipal tendencies; the obsession with breasts which are abnormal sizes that don't even exist in real life, is likely related to comforting memories of when one used to suckle their mom's teat as an infant.

And my day-to-day observations are that guys who are momma's boys or 'beta males' tend to be fixated specifically on boobs moreso than other guys on average (e.x. as opposed to ass or legs).
What about guys who like smaller boobs? Not flat, but like a big A cup. Not my primary fetish.

Like small but not non-existant boobs...
Post on Kiwifarms...
Is your primary fetish Trannies? :tomgirl:
Like about Willa Holland cup size, not flat. That's her in a padded bra.
Trannies are not an obscure fetish.

most of the men who like to be beaten by women or dominatrix stuff, are guys with higher level jobs where they tell people what to do all day. I think it's a way for them to unload all the aggravation involved in being the one in charge.

I mean not everyone has a fetish that fits their personality, those guys would be the total opposite.

the weird thing about submissive fetishists is that a lot of them actually are in charge anyway- they get to decide when to start and stop, make lists of what's allowed and what's not, etc.

Fetishes/kinks are okay as long as nobody gets harmed and does illegal shit. There are fetishes/kinks I will never understand (BDSM and Ageplay) but I won't kinkshame.
It gets really weird when people put each other into dangerous situations only to earn sexual satisfaction.

I once heard that a guy who had a fetish for being eaten (vore maybe?) hired another guy to kill him and eat his corpse. Fucked up shit if you ask me.

You mean the Cannibal Cafe?

I don't think that was actually vore. Vore I think refers to some really dumb, autistic variant of cannibalism where you have to be swallowed whole or some shit (or being eaten by something non-human (I'm probably wrong)). Those people just had cannibalism fetishes.
