In some ways, Tom reminds me of the book "For The Thrill of It". It was something I read for my undergrad... it details two young men in Chicago, both sociopaths, who committed murders solely for the rush and because they felt they couldn't be caught (well, found guilty). Obviously Tom isn't going out and murdering, but he reminds me of Leopold and Loeb because he committed a crime and feels he's so smart that he can get away with it. If I wasn't positive he was such a coward, I wouldn't be shocked if he actually tried to commit some kind of crime beyond "bum-rushing another person from behind" because he felt he was smart enough to get away with it...

(If you haven't read the book, I recommend it. It's fascinating.)

Emancipated minor doesn't equal legal adult, despite what Tommy thinks. You can't drink alcohol before legal drinking age just because you're an emancipated minor. You can't have sex before the age of consent just because you're an emancipated minor. It gives the right to make some decisions for yourself which would otherwise be made by your parent/guardian, but it doesn't mean you can do things which are illegal for your age. And it most certainly does not confer any kind of immunity on people doing things to *you* which are illegal by virtue of your age.

I've been watching this thread with horrified fascination for a while and it's really hard to believe how stupid this man is. He thinks people are jealous of him because he fucked an underage girl?
