Actually got back into Dynasty Warriors 8, only to try out the Origins demo a second time and realizing this shit ain't it. Depending on how they mesh this new gameplay into the remake of DW3, I don't think I'll even entertain this franchise going forward. It went from a cozy mindrot game to a sweaty highlight-baiting stream Soulslike.
 
I've been playing a bit of hatred the past few nights. It kind of controls poorly, and on top of that the only way to heal in the game is rather unreliable. You can only heal by executing wounded people, but you only have the opportunity to do so during times when your health is basically already full. When you are surrounded by soldiers and getting shot to hell, you have basically no way out and no way to heal.

It was to be an online shooter. From the looks of it, it was copying Destiny:

Yea in the harder fights with a fuck ton of swat dudes the best strategy is to unironically run away until you find some civvies to knife.

The AI is kinda retarded and gets stuck on the environment a lot so this works really well.
 
The last week of January up until end of February is what I'd like to call "Arknights: Endfield shilling season" where a fuckton of youtubers and redditards will start shilling the game en-masse across the internet.

Better hope this shit doesn't spill in the Farms.
 
Reminder there's an Xbox Direct this thursday where we'll be able to laugh at the travesty the Fable reboot is.

I really hope Forza 6 has less of that gay shit from the previous ones. I don't need a huge freaking party friendo nor do I want my avatar to be a faggy troon with vitiligo and other disabilities.
Just want to Tokyo Drift through Japan while listening to Eurobeat.

Nothing has been confirmed (or denied) about a character creator yet; older Fable games had no such feature beyond choosing gender Fable 2 onwards, plus alignment and stats altering some of your looks and tattoos/hairstyles. On the other hand, the devs have previous experience with character customization from the latest Forza games (why the fuck are the Forza guys making the new Fable tho), and some leaks supposedly point to the possibility of character creation, so it could go either way. It's kind of amazing how little we know about this after all those years, anyway.
I think they want this game to be more narrative and cinematic than the older Fables, so my bet is that there will be no character creator at all.
At the end of the day, the game has so many red flags (classic franchise being rebooted by a team with 0 experience in the genre, long-ass development cycle, random c-list "celebrities" inserted everywhere, the writing in the trailers, Microsoft's track record with this kind of thing lately) that whether or not you are forced to play as an ugly MC will probably be the least of its problems.
I don't want to be a pessimist, as I'm very fond of the Fable franchise, warts and all, but at this point, Fable 4 being anything beyond mediocre would be the comeback of the decade.
 
I think it's really funny that in 99% of modern games with a character creator you can't make a big titty waifu because "that's not how real women look Chud! We're all about realism and respectful portrays here!"

But then you start up the game and less than five minutes in a comical 400 pound amputee magical negro zooms by in their flying magical steampunk wheelchair as if that's totally something you encounter in real life when you're buying goyslop at Walmart or whatever.

They literally went: Fable=Albion=Britain=IT Crowd Ren Fair

If they don't smash it out of the park at the Direct and show all the things people want to know, then I'm certain any remaining hopes will be squashed. We thought anything would be better than Peter Molyneux, but we never accounted for the mythical modern audience. (:_(

When I saw whatshisface in the trailer I realized I knew neither the actor's name nor the name of his character in the IT Crowd.

If that's the best celebrity cameo they could muster they're in trouble.

I love Musou but with all the non-stop fag shit with Origins I'm done.

I'm fine with having the motley cast of characters in DW or SW, and in the storytelling like historically some of them are typically depicted as fags
But it's one thing for Zang He to be effete, it's a part of the variety of the cast, but for Lu Bu to fall in love and pine for the main character constantly along with everyone else in the game, is giga nigger trash, and I can only assume Koei Tecmo has some like typo in their code somewhere, leading the romance to be overtuned. And this is counterthetical to character diversity because now everyone can be a fucking faggot, negating any characterization the game does through the story.

Regardless I'll never played another Musou game again. Koei Tecmo withholding releases and promoting fag shit is a bummer. And I don't have a lot of hope for the Fatal Frame 2 remake either.

I'm only at the start of chapter 3 so haven't been exposed to too much idiocy so far, but yeah I've noticed a ton of DW 'community' engagement is just fujos gooning over men being gay when they're canonically and in-game married to women and have children. I don't know what it is about the chinese period but women seem to fawn over it. I've seen several vtubers who were men with those curtain emperor hats and they had thousands of viewers.

Update: Hit the first roadblock that underlined my issue with the game. Holy shit. They keep pushing you to "support your allies" but that just boils down to saving their asses. Okay, you save them- oops you saved the wrong one, lose, restart, do the opposite. Okay, now there's another choice 2 mins later, oops you chose wrong. Restart, repeat. On one hand I can see what they're going for, making tactical choices but the 'tactical' part doesn't take into account enemies spawning from fucking nowhere cause le cinematic.

It's the exact issue I have with XCOM. You play a level, you rush through it to see where all the scripted enemies spawn, then restart it and give it a proper go. That's not fucking fun. I'm already kinda tired of how the combat works in this DW: O so it's not exactly rewarding getting to hit people around. DW combat was always braindead but this is pushing it. They want to make it complex and souls-like, yet as stupidly simple as befit the IP. Man, this is enough to make me want to just uninstall it. It's like clearing 90% of a Crash Bandicoot level, not hitting any saves, dying, and literally just losing 12 mins of your life.
