I was thinking about Nick Dryden recently. All we can do is speculate, but I get the impression he’s either being kept around as a source of information, or he’s being set up to be made a major example of. Discovery issues aside, Seymour’s attorney says there are two “significant legal issues” in the case.
“First, an earlier version of the statute under which Ms. Seymour is being prosecuted was found to be unconstitutional by the Supreme Court,” the motion states. “In bringing the current case, the government is relying on an out-of-circuit decision. Drexel's conditional "Transition to Community" date (the day he could move from prison to a halfway house or to home confinement) was initially projected to be October 26, 2025, in preparation for his release in late November (to be followed by three years of supervised release). On November 13, 2025, he authored a heartfelt, handwritten letter to the Court, complaining that his case managers have mishandled his case and that he was being neglected and unfairly held at the prison past his release date.



My favorite part of the letter is the end of it, where he asserts that he is a man of oath and honor, and a changed person.



If this letter got one point across, it's that Drexel Venero is a man of integrity, and he would never do anything unlawful or dishonest ever again.

On January 8, 2026, "Drexel Venero" filed an "emergency" petition for a writ of habeas corpus and an "emergency" motion for immediate release, with a likely forged signature. The judge questioned why these documents have the return address of a UPS store in Lithia, Florida, when Drexel is incarcerated at FCC Coleman. The papers even include a Certificate of Service stating that they were placed in the FCC Coleman mailing system the same day they were written.



Sooo the Court gave him until January 23 to come up with an explanation for that. His mother, Jenna Sprecher Venero, who lives at 6211 Kingbird Manor Drive in Lithia, Florida, might also have some (totally unrelated) explaining to do. Presented below for your analyses is the signature from the handwritten letter vs. the signatures on the "emergency" documents. Aside from attempting to match the D, V, and O, nothing else looks the same in my opinion.






Also, the judge denied his motion because his release from prison is not an "emergency."
