One of the surprising things I've noticed about Phil is that KOgaming actually puts out really good reviews. It's one of his few talents in this field, I think.

From what little of his review kahntent I've seen, I've got to disagree. Most of the review is vague and unhelpful fluff like "This part was good", "This mechanic just didn't work", or "The controls were bad". No elaboration is given because he has no understanding of how to write a review a consumer can use. When he does get specific it's usually a part of the game he got frustrated at because he's utterly incompetent. Then he'll polish off all his wheedling with a review score seemingly thrown out at random. He obviously puts some effort into his reviews, but shit is still shit.

DSP doesn't care about KOGaming, and refuses to review Arms for being an "indie title". He also didn't review Tekken 7.
"ARMS is an indie title."

Being made and published by a company like Nintendo is the opposite of an indie title. He's so fucking stupid.

The official death of the three pronged plan is more proof as if we needed any that any 'effort' dsp puts into his business is inversely, not directly proportional to the money he receives. KOgaming, Patreon perks, Dsp tries it, twitch, direct capture all the stuff where he changes things up or goes outside his comfort zone tend to come about during lean or desperate times. Whereas he tends to cut back whenever he feels fat and secure. If his fans want him to do new and exciting things *that they tell him about* they need to cut back until he has barely enough to survive, not give him more.

I don't know what you're talking about. He's lost a lot of weight. People are always saying he looks like he's lost weight
He did look much more trim until about summer 2015. His weight has visibly steadily climbed since then, and his body will surely be in even worse shape now that he is responsible for all his meals. Based on Poorly Cooking With The King, he just may have a coronary during stream.

Lolwut?

One thing, it's probably obvious (and already stated before in earlier pages) but the only reason Phil did reviews is because of money, like everything else. His Homefront 2 clickbait review (he ragequitted the game) went viral about a year ago or so. His next reviews IIRC never got to the same amount of views (about a million I think it was? I might be exaggerating but there were a lot of views) So rather than putting more effort into the reviews, he just begs for bits on Twitch and Patreonbux.

As others have said, it's continue streaming or sign up for disability payments - his only options.

Disability is out of the question if he wants to stay out of jail, since he would get caught gaming and defrauding the shit out of that. There's enough evidence out there that he's absolutely full of shit with the things he says about anything he'd try to claim disability for, and there's a small army of :epik: ready to report him if he tried.

Abandoning that to beg for real money really demonstrates his lack of awareness about what he can do to improve his channel.
I can say unquestionably with his Hateful Truth reviews that he is an engaging speaker when he's focused on a singular topic and doesn't have his eyes darting all over the room. For instance, the Duke Nukem Forever grill video that went viral in 2011 on reviewers unfairly giving the game bad marks...subjectively we do not at all share the same opinion on that title, but his arguments were thoughtful and concise.
Now of course due to lack of foresight and his own foolish pride and greed, he's let that lone talent of his go completely to waste. It's a shame because that could have been a real money-maker up until ad revenue dried up.

He's not autistic he has NPD. He's completely aware he's an asshole (unlike an autistic person) he just refuses to change or can't cause of the NPD.

edit: or maybe he has both.

NPD coupled with profound laziness is my diagnosis with maybe Antisocial personality disorder too, since a lot of his problems tend to fall within both categories NPD and APD. I tend to go with NPD more than APD since he's much better at being the frail egomaniac than the (master) manipulator and liar. Although he does both a lot to his braindead fans.

I'm not a DSP expert and I never played any of the games he's reviewing here, but this is light-years ahead of the face-cam streaming stuff I've caught in this thread. He's actually speaking at length, coherently and with enthusiasm, and without burping and snorting every five seconds. If you don't want to say this is his "talent", sure, but it might be the closest thing he's got to one.

If he claims disability on the basis of his feet and back problems then whether or not he games shouldn't have any impact. I mean, gaming only requires minute hand movements.

And, to be honest, I think that Phil's video archives of him bitching about his medical problems would do more to help than hinder him. It's not like medical staff are going to interview the people in his twitch chat or Kiwis and hear people say that his issues are bullshit (and Phil has always been consistent that his purported medical issues are real, there's no video evidence of him admitting he's full of shit).

Plus, his many failed attempts at being a professional let's player/streamer over the course of several years and constantly bitching about being poor could be used as evidence that he's tried to work to the best of his ability, even switching platforms several times.

I'm not American, though, so I don't know what proof he would have to provide for disability payments.

Yup, it was over 1 mill. For anyone who is curious, it went viral because someone direct posted it to 4chan.

I could be 100% incorrect but I think they meant gaming like "gaming the system".

This.

You just know this fat lump would go to them crying about how his back is so bad he can't work, even though there's videos, recent videos at that, where he talks about his back being totally fine. States and insurance companies do not fuck around when it comes to people who they suspect of fraudulent insurance/disability claims.

It's a weird relationship where his fans are basically Splenda Daddies to him, only with no sex and less respect than one.
I wonder how many bits it'd take for him to dance on camera. He'll hit rock bottom the second he dances for someone's pitybux.
I'm down for making Phil do the Truffle Shuffle on a stream.

One side benefit of Phil's terminal laziness is that I can bring up in dinner conversations that I know perhaps one of the few people on earth who is consistently late to a job that is 15 feet away from their bed.

Reading from a script and faking enthusiasm isn't really hard to do.
