Well its official this marathon was a failure

No no. It was a Phailure. Because he phails in life. This guy is just trying to get by until the next big thing. He is again (or rather always was) living paycheque to paycheque. He better hopes Youtube and Kick never closes down or kick him to the curve. sure there is Twitch but he probably is still waiting for his apology he will never get. and him getting a normal job is never going to happen as he has no skills left. His education is now worthless and his body is so frail he is even too weak to stack shelves

Watching some stuff back man this really was bad. Stalling the start of gameplay to get to $100 and then stalling again for like 25 minutes a few hours later to get to $300 saying he won't beg anymore if you get him to his not goal only to beg almost right away after getting over $300.

Constantly begging for a $100 dono to see the new meaningful animation is really fucking sad.

Probably his worst marathon ever content wise he just didn't give a fuck and wasn't even taking shots he was too busy drinking some mixer and cutwater shit most of the time. At least in other marathons that had shitty gameplay he would have some real crash outs but he didn't drink enough in this one to really do that besides begging.

Well, Khet was allegedly gonna make some food, but then he quietly swept that under the rug. My theory was he was going to make some shit himself (or more likely buy it) but then realized people would call it out. Or, if you'll permit me to be self-centered, he read one of the messages made here and elsewhere by myself and others stating that Khet's "cooking" gives us good insight as to her status.

His first reaction when someone brought it up was "yeah I would do that, so if someone else sets it up, tells me what to do, gives me the link, you know does all the actual work, then I would sit here and accept money for it". Everything this man does reveals pieces of his psyche. Someone gives him an idea, for free, that he doesn't have to pay for and might actually provide something to his audience and he wants them to also get it set up for him. His knee-jerk response is to ask someone else to do it for him.

He will not climb out of this hell he created. He's waiting for credit, a second bankruptcy, inheritance from the parents he never even visits, or all three. Apart from that he will ride this ride until he can't anymore, not like he's gonna learn to save money or put down his addictions or be a decent fucking person/entertainer.

This underperforming marathon led me to a realisation: I always had in my mind that Phil earns more than me, but is an idiot and wastes all his money and that's why he has a khando to show for and that's that (besides tech that depreciates with 1% per month according to accounting standards). But this year I calculated it again out of interest, and Phil earns now roughly the same amount as I do per year while being almost ten years older, "working" a day more per week and has to be a begging clown on the Internet for it. As far as I understand the American retirement system, Phil hasn't got anything more than social security (I guess nobody believes that he is able to save via 401k, he also never said that afaik). He has no benefits like being able to purchase the product / services of the company you work at cheaper, or discounts for partner companies or reimbursements for public transport, gyms, employee stocks etc. This guy is living on borrowed time, fully depending on dents and dentractors for the rest of his life. I am not American, but at this point, wouldn't it make more sense to reduce streaming hours and work a part time job and have at least some security/ benefits / career & retirement options? Dents might even increase the tips / h amount. As far as I get it right now, he earns above US average, but he's not strictly well-off unlike 5 years ago when only tips counted and the rest was bonus. Especially if we think about a bum with a college degree who should by now have made a career himself, became a specialist in his field or some sort of team leader. But I talk about Phil, I don't think he is able to find work or hold on to a job for more than a week. Of course, there is also fat Khat who might or might not work part-time.

I would like to read the thoughts of US citizens (not resiDents, ackackack) about this topic.

Benefits for part-time workers in America have been on the decline for decades. I’m solidly middle age and the only time I had health coverage while working part-time was when I was at university, where standard (“I need my scrips refilled”, “I have bronchitis and need antibiotics”) doctors visits to the campus clinic were covered by the university. Things like EAPs and such are contracted out to the lowest bidding provider and are then used as justification for low wages. Employee discounts at retail and food service are often used for the same (and are by definition predicated on you giving money back to the business you work for lol). Washington has no minimum hours law that I could find, so he could find himself doing what I did after university: driving 45 minutes each way to a minimum-wage, four-hour shift, and spending more on gas than I was actually getting paid.

Most minimum wage jobs are ones only very certain kinds of people are going to find personally rewarding, and for nearly everyone else they’re a net negative experience because lots of people don’t like having to deal with perfect strangers face-to-face day in and day out. In terms of mental illness I’m very similar to Phil on several axes and if I had to get a retail or most other minimum-wage job and the only person I was supporting was myself, I would likely rope.

Holistically, and from specifically his diseased point of view, I think Phil sticking with full-time streaming is the smarter move because any time he spent applying, interviewing and training would be wasted because he’d quit within a week no matter what his duties were.

It’s never been about the amount of money Phil makes (since he spends it all immediately), but rather his unwillingness to change to secure a future for himself. He’s never pushed himself to make smart timely decisions like downgrading his home or getting a real job to maintain an employment history. Instead he takes the easiest, laziest short term solutions.

We’re all here to watch Phil slowly and certainly face the consequences of his shitty decisions.

I thought he only had his one account that he "sold a long time ago" and then the one he made for when he streamed the game. Here in these US of A, where our government provides us fucking nothing, when you get a real job thats not at BestBuy, your benefits package is a really big part of your pay, how many vacation days, how much do they match in retirement contributions, healthcare etc, Phil not having any of that, if he actually payed into his retirement, actually payed into savings, got good healthcare, he have no money left over for his trinkets, and that's not to mention no vacations which despite what reddit wants you to think, that would be unhinged for anyone supposedly making six figures. Basically he makes less money than he fronts because he is borrowing from his future to have RGB keyboards now.

That's literally one of the only 3 games in Steam that I played personally and it was very clear that he was straight-up running past everything and had no intent to play it to begin with. Also he only played the Demo like with Metaphor.

It's an interesting question. Phil's ego is the only thing he cares about more than making as much money for as little effort as possible. However we have yet to see him in a situation he hasn't been bailed out of. He doesn't feel any shame for begging so that doesn't affect his ego, but having to bow and scrape before Keem definitely would.

I think regardless even if he submits to Keem it won't be for long. It wasn't an accident that he got fired from every job he had, nor is the fact that he has no friends. Keem expects from his "employees" like the exact opposite of how Phil behaves, he'd be fired within a month I reckon.

There wasn't a whole lot of Valentine's themed games either.

I think this marathon was more about how he set up his LED lights than anything else.

He did give a weird little dissertation on his autistic rules for Valentines day. Which were something like only boys should give girls valentines, and only if they're madly in love, and only one total valentine should be given unless you are in 2nd grade, and under no circumstances would he be giving anyone a valentine.

At some point chat taught him that different places do valentines day differently and that was a surprise to that 43 year old man.
