What's clear is that he was totally off the planet at that Gathering (drugs, mania, you decide) to the extent that a group which believes in handling things themselves removed him to outside help. Everything I've read from the people who were actually there suggests that Tommy was over-stepping the "it takes a village" thing which is part of such gatherings but not in any physical way. The specific allegation of molestation doesn't even seem to have been made during the Gathering itself. It is certainly easy to see why a group to which he'd disclosed the Sabrina incident would be apprehensive about him interacting with their children at all, though, and why any interaction would be viewed as predatory.
