Hyundai isn't going to stop building their new factories because of this ruling. A lot of benefit from the aggressive tariff policies has already been locked in. Art of the Deal, folks. He used the leverage when he had it, now he will use a different approach.

Lol so nothing to do with policy, just that you get upset when people point out your weird fetish for being submissive to an old fat man who shits his pants?

The TES thread was originally in the lolcow section of the forums. Same with the TDS thread. And people on both sides would get permbans from the threads (and still do)
Ok great, unban me from TES then lol.

On 2nd thought don't, I don't want any temptation to see you people in your native hell.

OK, time for a poll on the phrase the Establishment media will coalesce around to describe the situation in light of today's decision:

:like: - "This is the beginning of the end for Trump"
:agree: - "The walls are closing in on Trump"
:feels: - "This is a bombshell for Trump"
:drink: - "The Trump Administration is O-ver"
:lunacy:- "Trump is a racist"

Ready, set ... GO!
You know this doesn't really apply when this unironically is the beginning of the end for Trump. We won't even be allowed to have our own factories in this country ever again, and the next time we go to war (which will be pretty soon), we will get absolutely fucked.

This is the worst possible outcome.

Every little thing that goes wrong for Trump is "The beginning of the End" for you guys, it gets old

Hulk, you're also missing an important question here. Tifa or Aeris?

This is the top of the US Trade Representative government webpage, so I think it's safe to say this guy is in Trumps corner.
The United States Trade Representative is a position one gets by being nominated by the President and then approved or rejected by the Senate so it makes sense he'd back Trump on anything.

This recent SCOTUS ruling as a whole is a setback for Trump (and by extension the power of the executive office) but it's not the end of the world. To the President's supporters, he has lost the ability to apply more leverage in trade negotiations and from the perspective of his critics he no longer has the power to "arbitrarily" implement tariffs depending on how he feels at any certain moment in time. There may or may not be refunds relating to tariffs effected by the ruling, remarks from the President and a TruthSocial post in the near future.

Boy, you just added "policy" in there and expected me not to call you out for that obvious goalpost moving ?

Come on now hulkypoopoo, your rethoric works on the wino aunts in the TESthread but that's on the very left of the bell curve.

Kavanaugh’s dissent provides a roadmap for Trump to implement the same tariffs, just so long as he cites different laws and checks a few different boxes on the paperwork. So the court ruling really will just be a nothing burger.

To be fair any time POTUS gets bad news both sides have to get out their narratives about how it’s absolutely over and also a total nothingburger. That’s just the game and it always has been.

He's limited to 50% retaliatory Tariffs at will(unless the country can somehow make a case that it gives no other country a more favorable trading deal and probably sue for it) and unlimited but probably slower to implement through the US Trade Representative.

Trump could also do what democrats did when the Supreme Court ruled against affirmative action and simply ignore them. They've faced no consequences for it so why not.

He kept threatening blanket tariffs regardless of whether he kept backing off them.

And some of the tariffs Trump’s people argued were imposed on the US were things like some countries not wanting chicken washed in ammonia. Which was incoherent bullshit.
You do realize there was a point to each instance of that, right? Huge blanket tariffs were part of a mutually retaliatory process, almost exclusively with China but also in cases like Canada, who has had a long standing >100% tariff, effectively an embargo, on U.S. dairy?

If your argument relies on intentional ignorance, it’s probably not good
