Problem here being that if trump was Lot, congress would be getting turned to salt

I don’t think there’s 10 members of congress who genuinely place the well-being of their constituents above reelection
That's kinda their job, isn't it? getting elected through a democratic process. If they can get reelected by actively fucking over their constituents, who is to blame?

Genuine good faith question so I can learn more 🤠
Is it not good in theory at least to limit Presidential power? Im coming at this question from a (possibly dumb) position of: I want the federal government to not be this overarching leviathan.

I just dont really understand, so im trying to learn 😇
Anyone who unironically sprinkles in emojis is not fit to make political decisions and you come off as saccharine sweet or AI, but I'll answer regardless.

If what I'm taking from the ruling is true, I actually agree. I don't like the idea of emergency powers being used to justify unilateral action when an emergency does not exist and it sounds like there are other ways for Trump to enact Tariffs without going the quick and dirty route, but still do it in a timely manner.

What I do have a problem with is the Judicial Branch at large being able to grind the Executive branch to a halt through pointless lawsuits and local judges will use this ruling to claim Trump can't do Tariffs period.

The executive is currently being hamstrung on all fronts by an overly enthusiastic and activistic court system. County Judge Shaneequa in Marylandistan is claiming the power to put the breaks on the executive branch because Trump is orange. I'm well at the point where I think Trump should be ignoring rulings until at least the appeals courts can weigh in whether or not the case has some semblance of merit because of the activist abuse.

I'm not for speed running the Jacksonian method because I have no clue what can of worms that would open up, but Trump needs to start pushing back harder on the lower courts whether it be through blatantly ignoring them until the higher courts tell him he should listen or impeaching activist judges for being retards (This won't happen because Trump's Big Tent has too many "respect the process" RINOS in it and Trump would risk expending far too much political capital trying this to be worth it right now).

TLDR: I don't have an issue with the ruling on its face ideologically, but practically it's just another bullet to be wielded by a Judicial branch that has claimed more power than it ought have right now.

Tulsi has that extremely rare trait of appealing gravitas in a woman. Usually when women try for it, they come out shrill and bitchy like the rest of the women in congress.
Megyn Kelly had that too but she's starting to go more and more crazy, but hasn't lost her looks at all and is doing the fine wine route.

It's gonna be weird next week when Trump reimposes most of his tariffs and all the faggots celebrating their demise today are like, wait a minute.
Lawsuits and judges will immediately stop any tariffs and then those orders would be appealed and blah blah blah. In other words we might have to go on this ride all over again.

This country is so unbelievably fucked, it is genuinely not even worth fighting for.

Null has the right idea.
You're beyond a retarded nigger if you decide to leave your place of birth to live in some third world shithole in the middle of nowhere so you can escape your problems. You'd be no better than the illegals flooding into the American borders because they don't want to live in their failed countries

You know I’m curious what would happen to him if he just ignored their ruling. Probably nothing but I don’t see him doing it.

The funny part about this is that there’s zero fucking way that when he implemented the tariffs in April, some Supreme Court (or really any) judge instantly knew that he wasn’t applying the IEEPA correctly. I guarantee you they spent almost a year just going through the law to try and find some bullshit technicality to strike him down on. No one actually fucking knows how the law works, they just conveniently find out how to use it. Judges are the highest order of tyranny in America. A judge can let your rapist out of any and all consequences and face none himself. Similarly, judges can fuck up our country’s economic growth and national security with decisions like this and face no accountability or pushback.

If King Nigger or any other blue president did this same thing with the IEEPA, absolutely no one would care and it would be celebrated as an accomplishment. The worst he would’ve got would be a dissenting opinion in the Senate from Holden Bloodfeast or something.

International relations, including trade relations, are a matter for the executive, and the President is the ultimate executive authority. Trade companies do not outrank the PotUS.
Except Congress ratifies trade deals and has the power to tariff. They can delegate the power to tariff to the Executive, and have done so in the past, but not through the IEEPA.

Bruh this country is a third world shithole in all aspects except economically. With the removal of the tariffs, it will become a complete third world shithole.

Also I don't give a shit about muh heckin principles. That shit is how we got here in the first place.

Nigga spend some time in the “watch people die” thread. The USA is no where near third world. Just ignore the nigger zones and stay strapped.

The discussion and debate over the nuances of expanding the power of the executive is nice but hard to have when one side appears to be concerned with winning and little else while often disregarding or celebrating the ramifications of their actions.

When your only tie to a country is a sense of patriotism, you can quickly see how it measures up to the likes of family, employment, and community.
