💰 Grifter "Mad at the Internet" - a/k/a My Psychotherapy Sessions

I bet the news is that Null discovered a new cheese he hasn't tried yet.

I remember becoming an adult and being absolutely flabbergasted the first time I was asked to go get a fucking doctor's note for the flu. Not only do I not get paid for the day since I work hourly, but I have to go waste $100 getting a doctor's note just so I won't get in trouble. I will totally agree with the left that worker's rights in America are completely fucked up.
I've never experienced this and I've worked various jobs at various levels since I was a teenager. All I ever had to do was call in before my shift and say I wasn't feeling well, no questions asked.

A “friendly visitor” decided to show up at the front door unannounced
Racist bitch!! Should have let him in ;)

But seriously how horrific, and their law enforcement enables it. Angloids are seriously retard if they think they can “vote” this away.

You likely have been subject to such requirements and never knew. It's extremely common boilerplate for employment agreement/ conduct books even at higher levels, but only ever enforced as a population response on malingerers.
One Rebekah or Shaniqua with POTS or fibromyalgia for a coworker and you'll be having to get Dr's notes for a 103 fever.

Probably the best system I saw for sick leave at a top of industry company was a mix of getting doctors notes with unlimited sick leave.
Because everyone notices if you're saying you're sick all the time, but if you're actually sick you just need to get the note and you're pretty much free to get better.

motherfuckers will put "Gluten Free" and "Vegan" on the bag of granulated sugar

i might have actual good news for the first time ever in the next week or so.
What happened to the Jolly Josh outlook on life?

Don't be a Joyless Jersh.

Consider tapering off caffeine instead of quitting cold turkey.

@Null, if you haven't done so yet and plan on moving this direction, just quit caffeine cold turkey. It's like 2 or maybe 3 days where you're a bit off but it's not a problem.

Stay off it entirely for at least 6 months. Evaluate how you feel and if you want to go back, you're more "clean slate" at this point so it's easy to get a lot of benefit out of far less caffeine.

Another thing you can consider is if you're off caffeine for a good bit and then you take a decent dose (200+ mg) it's a hell of trip. I think it's worth avoiding it for a time just for that.

I don't know if it was just Alabama\Walmart\the shitty gas stations I worked at, but I never needed a note and just didn't get paid. Now in the Portland metro area, the state mandates that you accrue sick time and you don't need a doctors note unless you're doing fmla stuff.
So, no, I've never heard of needing a doctor note for one or two days of sick. 3 or more? Yeah that's the FMLA territory.
