Think about it like this. Think of it as "I may be a worthless piece of shit with no future and who does nothing to justify existing in real life BUT AT LEAST I am willing to dedicate my life to fighting the most disgustingly evil and dangerous movement that has ever existed in human history".

Imagine now spending 6 months doing this....and seeing it do worse than nothing. Trump is still president. Politicians and celebs who were once pandering to you now pretend you never existed. Even companies which once were prostrate to your autistic whims now avoid you like the plague. Now big names including thought leaders (i.e. laci and such) are reaching out to the subhuman rapenazis. Despite everyone in your mob including remaining thought leaders shrieking condemnation at them they dont return to the fold to beg forgiveness. But its ok. you still have figureheads to rally around. so long as they remain pure it will all be ok.

....then vidcom comes and a half dozen of your favourite SJW bloggers and vloggers casually meetup with the literal fuhrers of the new reich and have drinks and laughs not 5 minutes after sermonising about their eternal evil. and then mock your confused rage as no big deal.

You are confronted with the indisputable fact that not only has your 4 year crusade against "internet super nazis" been in vain, but those who led and preached and represented you to the world never believed that shit for a single moment and would happily pall around with those you were taught were literal hitlers. Thus the keystone of your entire self esteem and self worth vanishes in a puff of smoke and you are left with nothing but a collapsing shitheap of autistic screeching.

The point is, while Ghazites and such are embarrassing fanatical fucktards of no virtue, they at least had the decency of believing the dumb horseshit that was fed to them, meanwhile those they looked up to whom fed them said bullshit were more than willing to jump ship to team "we are moderates look! look at us pal around with people we were calling nazi rapists 5 mins ago!" the moment it became convenient. Kinda like how actual dedicated nazis who fought to the last man against the allies driven by pure nazi zeal are less scummy than the likes of himmler who tried to jump on the allies dick for his own enrichment/empowerment the moment it became convinient.

(Obviously this VERY slight sympathy to be had for these wretched failures is not shared by the likes of Steve Shives and Movieblob who are both too dumb to realize they are on the losing side and too narcissistic in their messiah complexes to ever admit the holy causes they led were bullshit.)

The OP of the thread is actually pretty well thought out. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm actually going to repost the links to this in the Regressive Left Islamophile thread as an example of decent commentary about the subject.

Am I wrong in thinking that we as progressives concerned with social justice have to be careful that we don't let our real and necessary concern about Islamophobia end up inadvertently carrying water for the most conservative, anti-feminist, homophobic, extremist etc tendencies within Islam?
