Boomer Hate Thread

Another thing I noticed, is that Boomer women haven’t aged gracefully, like at all.

Greatest Gen aged gracefully, usually skinny old ladies who felt wise.

Boomer women? They are either fat frog mouthed- psuedo dykes with a waist and or legs with the circumference of a redwood tree or super skinny horse faced wenches who will go SSReyes mode the moment you bring up Trump.
I know you are talking about physical aging (and you're spot on) but they equally aren't aging gracefully in the brain either.

At my bookshop job, Boomer women are the actual worst demographic. They buy children's books more than actual children or families. Much of the time it's so they can unsolicitedly give a grandchild or children at their church, a book. The annoying part is when they ask us, the workers, what their grandchildren would like to read (as if we fucking know) and then bitch that their grandson specifically wants to read graphic novels and play video games instead of reading chapter books. They fully believe they can fix the world's problems by throwing books (that they approve of) at their grandkids, whether the kids want them or not. It's wild to me and it happens every day. It's always either a basket of clearance books, a basket of kids books, or basket of Christian Fiction/Devotionals/Christian Living. If it's a particularly bad day, it's a basket of all 3 and they complain about the price the entire time at checkout.

Boomer women also firmly believe that being an asshole and being snarky puts them above everyone else and gives them some semblance of power. Their husbands are 100% dog walked and can't feel joy anymore unless they are looking at Vinyl of musicians they like.

>I don't recognize this country anymore.
>>Remember these things you did that destroyed the country?
>What? Those are all good things, you must be a racist.

They ALL act like this with books specifically. It's insane, hivemind type shit. Glad someone brought it up because why they act that way is genuinely baffling, how can they consider fiction slop "educational"?

Seems pretty standard for the costs of living in the land of leafs. Assuming internet is for home and phone.

Everything in Canada is a monopoly. We pay a hundred bucks for home internet and usually close to a hundred for data on phones.
Nu Zilund here. A home internet Fibre connection is about on par with this with data being somewhere in the 60-70NZD range. Power generally depends on your housing (a lot of it is shite here) and the season but averages out at about $180NZD per month. But in reality is generally higher for a lot of people and the absence of new power generation outside wind (the assholes in the last government blocked new hydro because of fucking ducks).

We are really the Canada of the southern hemisphere in all the worst ways.

They're just so fucking stupid, mean, and greedy. Yesterday I was getting gas, and one of them was harassing the cashier over the tea he was buying being taxed. Already prepared tea that's sweetened so of course it's fucking taxed. That's how it's always been.

The cashier along with all of us in line kept trying to tell him that, but no. He kept trying to bully the poor clerk (who by the way looked to be some girl still in high school) into risking her job just so he could save a few pennies.

"Don't you know you're breaking the law?! We fought a war over this shit!"-actual thing he said.

Fucking asshole. At least the cashier didn't cave, and he had to pay the full amount.

1. the people swarming the cops with cameras were complete dickheads. if anyone in this video should be arrested it would be them for getting so up close and personal, not gonna dispute that.
2. the cops havent done anything wrong, thats plainly obvious. not gonna dispute that either
3. the people throwing snowballs aren't in the cop's faces. just standing back throwing snowballs, as they had shown up for a pre-planned and announced snowball fight.
lets see how the boomers will respond to this silly incident. surely it will be reasonable...

and then these same people, after behaving like this and probably doing similar things in their youth, wonder why today's youth are now isolated, disaffected, and have not reached normal social milestones. and as a consequence to that, why they don't have grandchildren

find a grieving son or daughter who doesn't want to deal with cleaning out and selling their deceased parents house and offer to buy"
I had a friend who owned his home. His brother lived with him and ended up blowing his brains out from make loneliness epidemic in one of the bedrooms.

Talking to my parents about it and how he was thinking of maybe selling his house my parents first reaction was to say I should make an offer, that I could likely get a good deal.

I hope it was just their dark sense of humor but goddamn....

The conservative ones I know age pretty gracefully who took care of their children and made sure they were successful.
I think Ronald Dahr is correct when he says ugliness eventually seeps into your face.
And the Greatest Generation grandmother, who's in her 90s.
She still can walk on her own, doesn't need a cane. You need to help upstairs a bit. And she ate, literally, corn cakes. If you're wondering what that is, it's ground up corn meal. Fried into a cake with some homemade jam.
I cannot ever complain about anything around that woman because she lived through the Depression. And her husband fought in World War Two.

Yeah man, it's insane. It's very obvious that Boomer women think they discovered/created literature and it's also very obvious they took over the industry at some point. If you watch their buying habits it's super easy to see how we ended up with books and literature being an entirely female dominated industry. They are the only ones in book clubs, the only ones who regularly buy the newest book releases (outside of the Booktok crowd), and the only ones who are continually surprised when they find out a popular book is popular. One lady once asked me for a several books that weren't gonna release until the following year that her bookclub had already put on the list for that year.

Boomer men basically only want War Books or Clive Cussler-esque literature.

Just another Boomer Bookstore anecdote here, but at our store we allow people to sell us their books. Once in 2024 had an old guy want to sell one book and when I offered him like, $2 for it, he grinned and pulled out the receipt from when he bought the fucker in 2019 and went "look what I paid for it." I hit him with the Gen Z stare (side note: Most of the time that stare is just Zoomers not believing that the person in front of them really is that dumb) and had to explain to him how value works and that not everything retains it. Boomers have no clue how value works whatsoever.

I feel bad for any waiters/waitresses in restaurants In Boomertopia areas. They probably either don’t get tipped or get a 2-3$ tip for a 50$ meal while the boomer mc boomerton goes “here, this should be good to help you pay for school” as they drive off in their 40k+ convertible.

A lot of these boomer “collectibles” 20 years from now will end up in a landfill. Younger generations cannot actually afford that shit even if they wanted to. Those wildly overinflated assets only work if those generations can actually afford it. But while AI is annihilating earning potential of white collar workers, people are not going to buy that shit. Something has to give somewhere, which is why housing sales are in the toilet. Buying overpriced coke bottles or baseball cards is just not going to happen.
Add Numismatics to the pile of ruined hobbies (coin/bill collecting). Every show you go to its just
>Pay 20 bucks to get in just to access the vendors
>Mean age is 68
>Pot bellies as far as the eye can see
>see an error penny for sale
>1000 DOLLARS, NO DEALS, NO TRADE, NO HAGGLING, I KNOW WHAT I GOT
>ok
>see a collectible 40% silver coin for firefighters in Iowa or some shit
>SPOT PRICE PLUS 50 DOLLARS, THIS IS A COLLECTIBLE YOUNGIN' THAT ADDS TO THE VALUE YSEE
>go to local coin shop to sell
>BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, YES I KNOW IT SAYS WE'RE OPEN BUT I DONT HAVE TIME TO WASTE ON PEOPLE
>go to flea market
>80 BUCKS FOR A ROLL OF BUFFALO NICKELS, ....N-NO I HAVENT LOOKED THROUGH THEM, HOW DARE YOU ASK

The boomers in my life wont leave their only grandchildren anything, demand my attention constantly, and i cant even enjoy looking at cool coins anymore. Pillowday can't come soon enough

on a side note, is anyone else finding boomers selling their collections/belongings to be pretty extreme in their behavior? I've spoken to some that get huffy over noone younger than gen x wanting to blow 6 figures buying a boomer's boat or motorcycle or whatever the fuck. They also block people asking too many questions about their listings on ebay or whatever.

On the other hand, I've noticed quite a few will give a genuine and earnest convo (online or IRL) about piecemeal selling their media collection (books, vinyls, etc) because their kids/grandkids don't want the stuff OR have taken what they wanted. A few boomers even gave me some serious discounts on some old books for 20% of the average ebay/amazon/abebooks prices after a good conversation on the material.

I think quite a few of them are out of touch and just kinda lonely. They seem to not understand exactly how far things have gone. I've had to explain to quite a few of them that what they see and hear on the mainstream news isn't exactly the truth. This led to me asking them if they remember how disconnected the older generations were from their own youthful days. It's gotten far more disconnected now because older generations 100% don't understand that the youth use the internet and social media, which shapes a lot of shit.

They just loaf in front of the boob tube, while talking about how they were more hip and woke than their parents.

Boomer coworkers give me a look like I just shot their grandchildren whenever I offer little tasks to do for them to make their miserable lives a tad easier at work (it looks good on me, so I'm mostly doing it for self-interest) Boomer guy who can't hear shit and has permanent mush-mouth gave me a dirty glare when I offered to shut the office down for the night, and he could've left before me. He'd get a 5 minute headstart. And I was feeling a bit nicer that evening.

Fuck me and the old bastards wonder why younger people in business aren't as cheery with anyone--be it coworker or customer. Even small acts of kindness are spat upon by them.

Luke 6:27 to 31:
27;“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
28;bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
29;If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not withhold your shirt from them.
30;Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
