Yeah, it's clear that this is one of the main concerns with the States which is why they went for the naval bases. Nonetheless, a lot of Iran's air defences was used up last year in the 12 days war. But, the Houthis in Yemen proved that they can divert trade and be an inconvenience with minor weaponry. And the Gulf is their home turf. Which, if shipping is not escorted they will be more susceptible to loitering munitions. Consequently, convey operations are probably going to happen to mitigate the risk.
 
Closing the Strait of Hormuz is only viable when the US is not paying attention. The US having all its assets in the region means it's realistically already too late for them to do that.

Also I'm pretty sure they're slamming Iranian Naval Bases already.

This seems like some of the most serious destruction the Arab states of the Persian Gulf have seen in ages, if not ever for some. A good number of them have gotten involved in or have influence in foreign conflicts but their countries are rarely ever directly effected.

Like a Houthi 2.0. I could see that, but I'm not sure they'll have the bandwidth to support that kind of operation. Not sure if I'm getting CIA psyop'd but my impression is that the internal political opposition has a strong enough power base to require serious attention from the government, along with (assuming the reports are accurate, I admit they're dubious this early on) what seems to be a signifcantly successful decapitation strike, I think they have enough on their plate as is.
 
Well, I'm certainly not excited about all of this, but I am skeptical that it is going to erupt into WWIII as some people are suggesting on other platforms. My bets are first and foremost on nothing ever happens, the Persians never seem able to get their nut up in any significant way. If not that, I'm thinking it'll be a classic case of bombing, hold capital and get blasted up the ass by guerrillas, while the propped up puppet regime embezzles all funds given to it, we leave in 20 years and pretend it never happened. If not that, if shit does get real... Then I suppose pray to your god, because we'll all be getting drafted here soon, that or we get to push our way through anti-war protestors and national guardsmen to get to work.

But that last one's a worst case scenario, pure doomer thinking.

BRICS is an economic treaty. You're effectively asking "Why isn't G7 mobilising to defend Israel? They're a bunch of cowards who can't trust each other". It's not the purpose of the organisation.
