Ironically released just as TNG was turning the corner from its awful first season and the growing pains of its second season (which featured some stellar episodes but also some absolute dreck). I don't remember if anyone put forth the argument that TNG had finally begun to outshine its predecessor, but I wouldn't be surprised if that conversation was happening.

Some parts of Final Frontier were also filmed on TNG's sets, for what that's worth.

I honestly don't hate it I think the Spock, Kirk, and McCoy scenes are good it's definitely the weakest of the TOS films but not the worst Trek Movie IMO. Also, Shatner being the Chad he is basically told Wil Wheaton to fuck off when the little shit tried to come on set to fanboy out and refused to shake his hand made fun of his "Space Suit" it was the gray one from the show and said he'd never let Wesley on his Bridge Fucking Legend.

Nemesis sucked and I’m not going to pretend it’s a bit better than Nu Trek (kinda like my thoughts on Kingdom of the Crystal Skull being marginally better than Dial of Destiny but still sucking, but that’s a different can of worms for another time).

It’s a shame it was the final TNG film with the entire crew and I wished we gotten a better send off to them.
