Yes. US and mideast allies are burning a lot of PAC-3 interceptors, the kind Ukraine uses. This is very likely to cancel any transfers from US inventory to Ukraine that are still pending - a lot of transfers were canceled last year after Iran did some posturing exercises before Midnight Hammer kicked off.

This may affect ATACMS transfers, as well as air-to-ground missiles specifically AGM-88 anti-radar missiles. Normal HIMARS rockets should be unaffected as should supplies of 155mm as the US isn't engaging in ground-based artillery. Obama and Biden did not order enough Patriot interceptor missiles during their presidencies. Trump didn't either, to be fair, but he ordered more than they did. The Pentagon has been putting in reports for nearly a decade "we do not have enough missiles for our patriot batteries in the event that shit really pops off, supplies are low and near critical".

Biden, when attempting to bolster Ukraine's air defense, instead of ordering increased missile production simply had the civilian leadership of the DoD redefine "Critical" to transfer those missiles to Ukraine.

There is a lot of these getting expended countering Iran's drones and missile spam. Some are launches from gulf states but US command is using up PAC-3s at a very brisk pace. This means any transfers to Ukraine are likely canceled or soon to be.

That US style corruption is common enough through the West. Senior civil servants can find themselves moving from retirement to the boards of companies over which they had regulatory or decision-making authority. The US and much of the West does have more old fashion corruptions of bribery and embezzlement.

Let's check in on the Russians: Orban expanded the Paks nuclear plant with 13 billion euros worth of Russian loans and a Rosatom contract, basically locking Hungary into Russian energy dependence despite the EU sanctions. Why would someone do that?! Surely it isn't the construction subcontracts snagged up by Orbanite stooges? Letting the Chinks and the Russians and the Israeli and everyone else do what they want is fucking based actually, and the true sovereignty is selling your country out for extremely short-term gains that exclusively benefits your direct, personal monetary interests but horrible by all other metrics: economic, cultural, political, etc.

TLDR.: You put any leftist, ultraliberal globalist trojan horse in charge of Hungarian policy and they literally couldn't dream of doing as much damage as Orban has already done; not only that but like half of what they would need to do has been established and done by Orban already under a different coat of paint. What you are talking about as rogue right-wing populism in the context of other parties that didn't live up to expectation in European Politics is what FIDESZ embodies. Don't be afraid of things being worse at this point as they physically can't be, the only thing that can go wrong is that the economic, cultural and even spiritual rot manifesting itself as the Hungarian state party continues to fester freely.

It can always get worse, now I have no say in what happens in Hungary, so I think the healthy approach is just to let what will happen come to pass.
So if they actually champion policy that puts hungarian citizens and nation first I'll be pleasantly surprised, while if they let homosexuals and migrants run loose and get protected status I won't be shocked.

Anyhow, here's to hoping Iran wasting their munitions on the arabs and jews mean less for Russia to lob at Ukraine
