its like they forgot what caused 9/11 in the first place (doing the exact same thing to stop russians during the soviet afghan war)

Gas prices here have jumped about fifteen cents since Friday. I shudder to imagine how much people are being gouged at highway rest stops right now.

Winning!
And I probably don't have to tell that the same problems now affect all his allies on the world. Well, with his decision, he drowned all his allies along with himself. He took them all with him. Besides, he has made such ridiculous decisions so many times and has had so many stupid behaviors and public blunders that I don't know how anyone can still believe that he is mentally capable of holding this office and in general mentally stable. A mentally stable person does not make decisions like imposing tariffs on almost the entire world.

There's a QT I'm familiar with right by I-35, which is the main north-south corridor of Texas. I looked up the price just now: $2.90!

A shell station also on I-35: $3.00

It's wild.

They really are just speedrunning all of the bad decisions made during Iraq. My only guess is that this time they think they can get away with it?
They're acting like they really hit a grand slam.

If I had to guess, the libertarian and contrarian "centrist" bullshit attracted rightoids who see themselves as enlightened and above it all.

Conclusion: a few hundred casualties of the US army in a few days regardless of how much exactly it is. That's fact.
Other sources are stating much lower US casualties and the Iranian government has been known to exaggerate their claims. So, reports directly from the IRGC shouldn't be taken at face value as fact.

Business Insider (A) cited CENTCOM for 6 dead and several wounded as of Mar 2, 2026, 9:27 PM GMT

It hasn't hit the UK yet, petrol's still at the relatively low price it's been since last year but my family's filled up all their cars just in case.

This number is smaller, but it's 3 digits and no one can tell me it isn't because it is simply physically impossible for there to be less on this scale, and the US will report losses with a delay and they they pick lower numbers than real and they are greater than those reported in the US and let them be smaller 2-3 times, certainly not less, it is still a lot.

And now there's going to be a power vacuum in Iran. A power vacuum in the middle east never goes badly!

Oh and over 100 schoolgirls were killed, creating more future terrorists
The only thing this loser, old, used condom, managed to do was shit and piss in his pants, rape girls which were children, perform forced abortions on them, and maybe even kill them when they became inconvenient. And then there's the decapitation of the leadership of a country of almost 100 million people, which now makes it impossible to withdraw from the war, and the bombing of a school, killing 150 children which is war crime. And yes it will be power vacuum but he won't get out of what he started.

The US also underreport their causalities, so don't take US claims at face value either.

It’s the panic buying that causes the pump price to spike (and then shortages), global oil price takes longer to hit.

Venezuela’s oil infrastructure is fucked and it only makes tar sludge anyway. To have it export enough to make a dent, requires the big US oil companies to invest billions and several years, to fix it. Forget it.

The Iran situation definitely is curtailing supply now as tankers cannot move through the strait of Hormuz.
That may or may not be sorted out quickly, so has the potential to increase prices in the short to medium term.

Longer term it could result in reduced prices if the new Iran admin feel like selling more to modernise their country.

This part I really doubt. Rebuilding the country is going to require the US to invest in its infrastructure while they have a far more hostile populace than Venezuela. That requires boots on the ground for years.

If prices are reduced, it's for non-US aligned countries.
