Holy shit, I used to be friends with this artist. Once upon a time, she drew all the Layton characters like they were supposed to look and got extremely popular for it. Something changed though - I'm not sure what, but her art style shifted and got uglier and uglier, more and more off model over a period of months until her fanbase started to seriously dwindle. Someone asked her once why she drew the characters like this in a nonthreatening manner, and she completely lost her shit talking about how she doesn't owe an explanation to anybody for the way she draws. In response, another person explained how badly the colors mixed together and how ridiculously dark Layton's skin was compared to canon, and she got even more upset she was being 'attacked'.

There's more than this, but this isn't a place for good art. Should give you an idea of how badly her style has evolved though. I know they say you should always be changing and improving your art, but sometimes I think artists like this don't know when to quit.

The art itself really isn't bad. Like, I really enjoy their coloring and shading style. Anatomy I can forgive, but full vaned feather spreads are put on dinosaurs that would have had filamentous feathers or quills instead are annoying and theres a lot of weird facial shrinkwrapping but whatever.
