I don't look forward to losing an hour of sleep.

Or more likely, going to bed an hour later because I might be awake when the time change hits California.

It's also a bit amusing that everyone says "PST" or "EST" always, even though about 2/3rds of the time, it's PDT/EDT.

Remember guys, it’s spring back, like a backboard in gymnastics. We are going backwards in time. Set your clocks backward.

Conversely it is the opposite of “fall forwards” in fall when we must set our clocks forward in time

Another handy way to remember this:

Daylight savings time. With an S.
Edit: my apologies I looked it up and both spellings are correct.
Did you know that the number one day that people have heart attacks is the day that you lose an hour of sleep?
24% increase in the heart attack rate.

Spring forward, fall back. Everybody is moving their clocks forward an hour tonight.

Thanks for making this thread. I forgot about the time change.

This sounded too crazy to be true so I was really surprised when looking it up initially suggested that a major increase in heart attacks following the DST transition in spring can indeed be observed. However, more recent studies seem to indicate that there's no significant increase. Too lazy and retarded to dive in any deeper myself right now but apparently scoince can't agree on whether there's any correlation after all. Fun rabbit hole though, so thanks.

Also, I tried to archive the above URL but I couldn't get archive.today to work properly.

I learned "Daylight Saving Time" from the pedantic mother on the FoxTrot comic strip, Andy.

There's some crazy bill that wants a permanent half-hour increase. Which screws up a lot of things.

I just wish we can say "yeah, just stick with standard" and don't worry about it. The Earth is already sunnier during summer in the United States.

I've said this before (probably last time DST rolled around), but I loathe DST. It has to be the most pointless thing I've seen at a governmental level. My job doesn't care if it's light or dark when i show up, I better be there on time. Farmers get up at the same time no matter what the clock says, because animals absolutely have a concept of time, and the cows know when they get milked.

God help you if you work night shift, once a year you get to work an extra hour because we think we can control time.

A few years ago there was a bill that went to the US congress to finally abolish this nonsense, and it died. The most non partisan thing ever created, and couldn't even get a vote.

But no, fuck up my whole rhythm for weeks, make sure I keep track of when it happens so I don't forget and show up early or late for my job, get my dog scratching at my door an hour early because he didn't know the clock changed and he's hungry.

If there isn't a mad at the government sticker, we need one so I can harvest them.

Wasn’t this stupid bullshit supposed to have been nullified three years ago? Or did that get shot down before it could do the world any good?

I’m going to spend all day tomorrow sleeping. After i’ve finished my obligatory work, of course, but still. Sleeping.

EDIT: ninja’d immediately with an answer, are you kidding? Stop stealing my brainwaves, @Town Drunk.

Whatever, i’m leaving this post up. Fuck the government. Give me my sleep back.
