are these not synonymous?
I was under the impression that anime tourists are people who latch onto a particular series and try to impose their own beliefs and values onto it through social media. None of this people are actually interested in anime those animes they focus on tend to be popular and trending at the moment. For example all these characters are gay/lesbian/trans and so on or this needs to be changed because its racist or sexist etc.

So extremely far removed from any conversation on gateway anime and people new to it. And then I don't know if Bebop is still counted as a gateway today.

Kaya Chan is a mixed bag. I like the mystery but it really fails in the Spy X Family esque parts with levity.

Normies watch what's currently popular.
Tourists barge into the community and shit up discussion. The worse ones are walking Dunning Kruger effects.

FMA Brotherhood and the latter half of Attack on Titan.

So, Beastars' final season part 2 (aka Season 4, technically, kek) is out! I skimmed a bit, and it seems the ending has changed. I snooped around and supposedly, the final seasons change the ending story arcs to be less dumb and rushed like the manga. Can anyone confirm? Because I recall that the final arc swings from borderline Jojo stands, to inane politics, to outright Baki bullshit, and a shitty ending where the black market is closed and everyone is happy! Until a carnivore is hungry and accidentally eats his herbivore neighbour due to not having access to meat. Oh, and the fish people were willing to give themselves as food to fix that issue, but the current Beastars shot that down because he's an asshole.
I just finished binging it and while the ending isn't as stupidly wrapped up as it is in the manga, it's still rushed. They also cut out a lot that someone on Twitter made a list of.

FMA Brotherhood
I can understand why Brotherhood is acclaimed, it's a rare case of a shonen with an interesting premise, nice characters, and an ending that doesn't shit the bed. Too bad other authors don't copy it.

It does a good job of trimming out the fat from the manga as well, I've read it a long time ago and I remember it dragging a little towards the end.

Changing the subject entirely, MHA Vigilante does a good job of making Aisawa a more sympathetic character. I didn't like him on the first seasons of MHA with all that strict bullshit, but now I understand. Good job author, you're better than the original author.

I can't give my true and honest detailed thoughts on season 2 of Chained Soldier without getting bonked so I'll just reiterate that season 1 was peak fiction but season 2 is turning out to be even more
PEAK. FICTION.
Treat yourself to some of the finest gourmet nippon sloppa the industry has to offer.

The fact that they removed the ecchi-censoring director & changed the studio to Passione solely to get more ecchi perfectly adapted is nothing short of utterly based.

Tenka = Wife.

I didn't even know about this. This is unfathomably based.
I like to sail the seas and don't buy merch but ill make a exception for this act of basedness

So as someone who never saw any of Tenshi Muyo in any form, it sounds like Universe is the best place to start and considered to be the holy grail of the franchise? I was too young when it premiered on toonami. But then I really only started watching toomami in like 2006ish.

I do know to avoid Tenshi in Tokyo like the plague. Wbat do you fucking mean they introduce a new character to be his love interest only to reveal she is objectively a hollow shell with no family or personality to speak of therefore she kills herself to make Tenshi better?!

@7.62x38mmR so the Lupin TV specials aren't good at all? That makes me sad. But then there are so many of them I shall never find time to view them all.

Does anyone remember Rune Soldier Louie? Fun dumb shit. Takes place in the Lodoss continuity. Louie, Melissa, Genie, and Merrill are the leads. Its d&d on crack. Its in dire need of a relicense by far.

Yes and no, since Ryo-Ohki came first and has less episodes than Universe (if you stick with the original two seasons, anyway). One of my favorite things about the series besides the fun character reactions is the fact there's multiple universes that use Ryo-Ohki as a jumping off point to do their own thing.

'Course, Pretty Sammy is my favorite as a magical girl fan, so I'm biased there, but the Tenchi movies are a lot of fun. A friend and I call it the "Tenchi Blackhole" for a reason, you can easily get lost in it.

I can't see any male safe insert in the show. Usually it's a normal guy getting dropped into the situation with zero context, either getting a superpower or always having a power that only in this case has any effect.
He literally is dropped into the show with zero context other than being an OC son of a background character who died. He is quite literally chosen to become the a Lancer Heroic Spirit by the Grail, thus why Watcher is well... watching him. Add zero personality to the mix with generic edge and a dollar store "main character with a bit of edge to him" outfit. Looks like some scrapped SAO clothing

Technically everyone has zero context because USA, and mary sue to some extent.

But self insert needs to be relatable to the average Jap. Like Rock from Black Lagoon

Even Shirou is detached enough from the mage world to be relatable enough
