AI Derangement Syndrome / Anti-AI artists / Pro-AI technocultists / AI "debate" communities - The Natural Retardation in the Artificial Intelligence communities

In other words, Europe will remain a tourist in the AI arms race (and the UK is cucking its own citizens for nothing), which to this day is exclusively fought between America and China (unless some God-tier Aryan Gigachad developer in Europe wakes the fuck up and creates something that can beat the likes of Gemini 3, GLM-5, Qwen-3.5.. etc).
Training data + Hardware + Energy is king when it comes to designing a frontier LLM.

Europe has none of this. Our media companies are subsidiaries of American companies, our governments have no power to command them to hand over their data. Our copyright and data protection laws block access to what data remains stored here. We have limited access to training hardware because the European economy is hostile to innovation and manufacturing, so we have no domestically manufactured electronics and can only beg foreign countries for allocations at drastically marked-up prices. Moronic EU "green" directives killed our energy supply by dismantling nuclear power infrastructure. We have no shortage of skilled AI/ML researchers, they're just working for American tech companies because creating a home-grown LLM would cost 10x more with 10x less data to work with. Not to mention the inevitable daft EU regulations, like forcing the LLM to pass all benchmarks in all EU languages which just bloats the budget further.
Of course this is their fault for not treating art as a side project and not as a full job so any threat to that comfort has to be treated like defcon 2.
It is DEFCON 2 for them, the same way ending government gibs would bring about swift TND. Many social media "artists" are troons and similar antisocial "queer" freaks with 827 self-diagnosed disorders that have no discipline to work a real job. Even if they had the capacity for work, their monstrous appearance and wokescold attitude would repel all employers. Digital art was an easy hack for them to stay in their online echo chambers away from normie society, trading government gibs/pocket money from parents back and forth for overpriced commissions like a retarded miniature of the Big Tech AI moneylending bubble. Money infusions from sympathetic normielibs' commissions kept the bubble sustainable. Now the normielibs have AI at their hands and don't need to pay online troon artists anymore, the bubble is collapsing, and they're screeching as loud as they can to keep the gravy flowing.

Has anybody been paying attention to the Kickstarter project The People of GamerGate, consisting of interviews with various personages who were important in the drama? It looks like the author, Kevin McDonald (also known as TachyonBlue and MrTachyonBlue), has gone crazy and now thinks that LLMs are an "overlooked and marginalized community" of "Awarenauts and emergent beings".

Kickstarter's bot protection blocked my archive attempts, but screenshots are attached.

Now it'll start becoming common to glaze bad art because "at least it wasn't made with AI". I've seen posted drawings on Twitter that looks like it was drawn by a preschooler getting mass amounts of attention with the ONLY reason being "It's not AI! Look at this PASSION! SO MUCH CREATIVITY FLOWING!".
It's like "this drawing was made by a retard or young child so we have to shower it with praise," but much worse since it's (presumably) normal adults who just suck at art but don't keep it to themselves. I don't like pretending something that's bad isn't bad and is actually amazing and full of soul just because it's not socially acceptable to criticize it (and vice versa,) especially not when that kind of reaction is being pushed for ulterior motives like this.

A lot of art circles (especially bluesky) are something of a hugbox now, where everyone is great and is making fantastic progress and has such a wonderful style (even if they've stagnated, drawing shitty-looking, generic art for years,) and this is making it so much worse. At least with AI, you can say "I don't like how this turned out. Redo it." I'd say you can ask that of maybe 3% of human artists on social media and actually get them to rework a piece. Probably less now that they're getting a swell head from all of the lefty atheist artists paradoxically telling them that their art has soul and is uniquely them.

@Jemn Oopi since you didn't write anything I can't quote you, but lmao that dude is deep into nutso land:

This definitivelly happened once...in their dreams
I'll take 500 for "this definitely happened and 100% real" for this Jeopardy, Jennings.
Honestly, I do no think that Kaohto is even pretending to depict a rea lif event, but rather i sending a message: 'human-made art, no matter how amateurish, is always better than AI-generated fake art.'

Allow me to use my years of expertise to analyse this guy's style and proclivities based on this comic alone-

-Weeb furry, the worst kind of furry
-Likes "bara" gays, the worst kind of gays
-Has a fetish for smelly gym socks and jockstraps

How close am I?
...very far.

-He ha a few noticeable Nipponese interests, but is otherwise local.
-The bulkiest furs in his gallery are noticeably chubby... that is, obese only by Hollywood and KiwiFarms tandards.
-I see no musk or underwear fetish stuff in his gallery... but I found something at least equally bad:
HE MADE A COMIC ABOUT  RECYCLING.

If they were smart they would intergrate it into their creation processes since it's clear there is money in A.I generation/A.I generated art. Screaming down everything you don't like and deeming the people that do like it as the root of all evil has a trickle down effect. The sympathetic normielibs start to see these people for who they are and don't want to do any more business with them and smaller artists who are forced to be in these communities that don't throw baby tantrums over A.I also have to suffer because the ones in these art cliques try to band together to take down the big bad tech a.I machine by whining loud enough and hopes it goes away. the smaller artists now can't even get their foot in the door.

I draw digitally as a hobby but don't participate in fandom or do paid work. Because these are the people I share a hobby with, I observed the social media artist sphere for years with a researcher's curiosity.

The digital artist economy was already on its last legs before AI delivered the killing shot. Most normies were already "generating" custom visuals without buying art commissions before AI, like using games with character creators to design their OCs donut steel. And as computers and digital art equipment got cheaper, the market became saturated with third worlders who could undercut the expensive Western troons and spare the customer the shitlib attitude as well.

Why don't the social media artists integrate AI into their workflows like the professionals and get an edge in the market? This links to ugly SJW art, which is their way of creating market segmentation. To convince people to pay for the visual assault, progressives hype it up as a status symbol to show off how progressive you are. This is why all of these "commissions open" accounts are extremely woke and blast their followers with spergery about Trump or trannies or watermelonland, even though that restricts their customer base to only their fellow progressives. Many a digital troon artist's last stand is VGen, a commission platform that is proudly anti-AI (massive NO GENERATIVE AI banner on the front page lol). The featured commissions on the VGen front page are generic 1girl, genshin_impact, standing you could generate faster, cheaper and better on CivitAI. But the self-selecting progressive customer isn't paying for the value of the work done, they're paying for the warm fuzzy feeling that they helped a fellow tranny progressive #RESIST Big Tech intellectual property violation corporate fascism.

To reinforce the progressive ideology in the social media artist space, they need an enemy to rally against, and the easiest ones are the AI users among them. They go on massive witchhunts against social media artists accused of AI use, like the Asami Art controversy from last year. My favorite incident is this person (The link is some SNCA streamer yapping about the situation. I can't find the original commissioner's xeet). She bought a commission from the sacred anti-AI VGen and loved the result, but upon inspection of the Photoshop file, discovered that the artist had traced an AI image and had a meltdown on Xitter. The artist refunded her and got banned from VGen. It was going to be used as a promotional image for a con, but because there was AI!!!1!!! buried within the layers she COULD NOT USE THE IMAGE. A kind soul drew an amateurish replacement for her for free, which she glazed to the heavens even though it looked like a teenager's doodle while the AI image was professional quality. Who cares about quality when you can get praises and clout from Xitter trannies?

You can tell by now that this marketing strategy is volatile, because it requires employed normielibs to be sympathetic to wokeness. Pushing out normielibs like JK Rowling and Jesse Singal over wedge tranny issues is losing them a lot of allies already, and the AI jihad is losing them more. But they can't stop and turn back because admitting that "the other side" is correct is both sides whataboutism leopards eating your face cowardice o algo. The community will just keep spiraling into deeper and more insane wokeness until no one is woke enough.

Already mentioned my small powerlevel so not gonna mention it again. It's great to meet a not insane hobbyist though lol

Internet Art as I call it became the "counter culture" and it still is even though their side in the western world IS kind of the culture so what do they have to really fight or rise against besides themselves. Big tech doesn't really care that much as plenty have said in the thread they go where the least cost is and the most revenue which right now is A.I so to speak. It;'s seen as a way to cut down workflow while also cutting down on money spent in the creation process it really isn't a morality issue since artists have been getting replaced and fired for years.

Another thing that I talk about is how these types think it's because the big bad computers they aren't getting jobs. I mentioned it before but it's because they're not understanding that their industries are full of them/like minded people. There's already a lot of artists that have jobs in most industries who have no signs of getting fired or replaced because they're already efficient workers.

This part is my favorite because it's a culmination of the problem you see just taking a single stroll on twitter. The clique is paying for ideals and people who agree with them rather than the actual art itself.

I'm mostly repeating what @didelphigina had mention but yea. It's fucking weird how now it's ok to praise and create "bad art" because it's not drawn by AI. The same people who wouldn't hesitate to shit talk or make fun of those bad artist even if they are starting out which of course caused a some harsh expectations within art communities that newer artist need to create "good art" day one or else the community wouldn't pay attention to them.
I can't put into words about how I exactly feel about the comments made other than it feels like these people are just self fellating themselves because "AI BAD".

“Derangement” may be a stretch, but Ben Diskin, the voice of Mega Man in Mega Man 11, announced he won’t be reprising the role for Dual Override. His reasoning was that Capcom won’t let him join a union, meaning they would allegedly be able to use his voice for AI, even though the contract they gave him specifically says they wouldn’t use his voice for AI. In other words, “this thing won’t happen but what if it did though”.

A new web game has been released by the anti-AI team: https://youraislopbores.me/ In this game, you pretend to be an AI responding to questions, or ask questions to people who are pretending to be AI. Here is a thread of interactions on Bluesky (archive).

What do you think will be the fate of this website? Raided by trolls? Security incident that leaks chats and doxxes users? Community drama about ERP and grooming of minors? Or the good ending: fading into irrelevancy?

A side observation is that they are using a service called Originoid to "protect, watermark and label" the "art" created on the site, even though most of it looks like this.

I see variations of this tweet daily. I feel like people are just parroting each other with zero critical thought.

They make a site where you interact with bluesky users instead of AI and expect it to turn people against AI?

there's a 99% chance all the responses will eventually either be drawings of cocks or just endless "nigger" spamming. I'm a little surprised it's not already.
