Oof, I hate to tell you this, but in good ol Current Year, you’re just not allowed to have escapism. You’re supposed to be angry about everything in the world 24/7. My personal artcow outright said you don’t get to enjoy dumb, quaint things if you’re not also being a good little activist and fighting ICE and the government. Gotta be eternally miserable for the cause, sweatie.
 
To be honest I liked the piracy comic, even ellen can land a joke once in a while. To her credit, she kept the punchline short instead of using lefty wall texts. Shame that she doesn't fully support piracy and only does when it's convenient to her. Even a broken clock is right twice a day I guess.

Some random acc, u/sweetrevenge76 (archive), reposted several of Ellen's comics (namely, the entirety of Painter and the first three parts of Locked Out) onto Reddit. Before being deleted by the user, they amassed over a thousand upvotes each, and the comments are very entertaining.
First, part 1 of Painter. (Reddit's media limit is 20 images per page, the part ended at the start of part 5, when Ellen says she won't need a vibrator anymore).

So...a few obnservations about Redditors.
- A lot of people are surprised Ellen did porn, but want to subscribe to her Patreon to see it. As expected, her hiding her porn, even this shallowly, has great results.
- They do not know about her sextape...at least in this corner of the site.
- The Bowser shell prop drama is prevalent, good to know.
- A lot of people, even in the gooner communities, dislike Ellen and her art, though she still gets die hard critics of her there. Lots of typical MAGA calling.
- People call the painter comic (open relationship in the regular variant/cheating in the pregnancy variant) poly and the locked out comic (cheating due to the guy having a GF) NTR, poly or swinging.
- one guy asking if it's based on anything real (oh, you sweet summer child...part 12 will be about exactly that...)

Are you always this easily impressed? Everybody and their grandmother has made this joke. She just made it again, but she drew pieces of a pirate outfit on herself. Just because you happen to agree with the overall message doesn't make it good. It's still the same shitty art, drawn by the same shitty artist.

I was going to say there's no fucking way she drew that by herself Its not stiff as fuck and the details are rendered very confidently. It LOOKS like she drew a face in on someone else's work and then color swapped it in MS paint. Hell the middle panel probably WAS made in MS paint

yea I know, it's a cheap punchline, still better than ranting about trump or wars and trying to make all comics political all the time.
I think she could gain a normie audience if she made more non political jokes
