Also also, I just find it time that the only other time Charlie goes full demon (which is just that she grows a tail along with her usual angry horned face; very creative there) besides fighting Adam, is at her dad.
Does anyone still remember how Viv teased that Charlie has an actual demon form and some people really wondered how that would look like? And in the end that's what we got.

And I still know that when I was watching Asmodeus grow 15% taller or something I wondered if that's really it.

It really feels like some kind of high school drama where the characters happen to be powerful demon lords but since it's just a highschool drama they only transform when they are slightly upset without doing something.

I mean anime is often autistic but atleast if people transform there into a giant monsters they usually beat each other up or some shit, so it really feels less like a waste of screentime.

You know the funny thing with Charlie is how useless she really is.
I think the reason for Charlie's character such high-drop from the pilot is largerly due to Viv ditching the original team of writers that helped to make the pilot beloved in the first place.
Vivienne Medrano? Under-utilizing her female protagonists?!

Say it ain't so!

Charlie at least attempts to do some things, even if she is a complete and utter retard. Cameron, on the other hand, does NOTHING. Well, actually, that’s not totally fair. She does do some things. My issue here is that those things might affect her personally, but have almost zero impact on anyone else. She’s supposed to be the main character (she gives the comic its title, for God's sake!), but she’s almost completely irrelevant. The only time she affects anything at all is in chapter 4, her counselling session with Jack, and it wouldn’t be hard to edit her out. Off the top of my head, he could be explaining his story to someone new he’s met and they could give him the same advice she did. Do that and she could be removed from the story without so much as a whimper. Nothing would happen differently.

Basically, she spends all her time just being around and acting scared. Her purpose as a character just seems to be witnessing everything that’s happening and reacting to it. It seems a lot like she’s only part of the story so that it can have the whole “human ends up in a magical world by accident” plot, which is not a prerequisite for stories that involve magic, by the way. Maybe she’s supposed to exist as a stand-in that represents the audience? But then shouldn’t she be actively trying to learn more about this world instead of (for the most part) letting information come to her? That’s what the audience wants to do, they want to hear the story, so if she represents them, she needs to have motivation to seek that story out for herself. Also. if she wants to go home, shouldn’t she be trying to figure out how to leave? It feels like she accepted being trapped way too quickly. Does she actually want to stay there, even though she’s afraid of everyone? Even if she did have a way out (which is what happens in chapter 3 btw - the barrier that's supposedly keeping her trapped is broken due to vampires attacking the city)?

Actually, that’s another big issue: we don’t know this person. We don’t know about her family, history, what she cares about, her dreams for her life, anything. Even basic ass things like, what are her favorite foods? When she walks by a mirror, does she check herself out, or does she shudder away? If you were to run into her at a shopping mall, what purchases would she be carrying? Which stores would she want to visit/avoid?

KayCee (the person who sends her to Magical Furry World and seems to have ulterior motives) mentioned she had a degree in counseling as if she’d just noticed that. Does Cameron have a degree in another subject? Is counseling actually her secondary career? Is she just so desperate for a job that she’d accept one in a field she isn’t as interested in as her other career? And why is she so desperate for work? Is she struggling to make ends meet, or does she have debts? Actually, that would make her apparently having a guaranteed place to stay in Safe Haven really interesting to look at with her character, because it would mean one less expense for her to worry about. These are the real questions.

But who gives a shit about all of that, let's have some gay relationship drama because THE FEEELZ! *sigh*

I wish shows brought back gay representation that was more funny and stereotypical like with Jasper in family guy. It's much better than whatever garbage viv's keeps making.
i don't mind queer representation in fiction (i'm queer myself, as a matter of fact), but what bugs me about Vivzie's form of it is she does it with every other character. i think just having a couple of queer characters in a story is less heavy-handed/propaganda-ish, if you get my drift.

Maybe it's because I've seen ~queer magic~ one too many times, but at this point I'm done with representation. HIJKs/fujos/theater kids/whatever are clearly overrepresented in these industries and can't help but make everything about themselves. I'd rather see more shows about people acting like, for lack of better words, real people with actual personalities and full inner lives. I don't want to watch fucking yaoi fanfic, Wattpad entries about ~the queer experience,~ any of that detached, bougie horseshit. You know what needs more representation? People who live in the real world and have adult thought patterns.

Ive never watched this show. Is it as bad as people say it is? I was once tempted to give it a try cuz art style caught my eye. And then ive read that even among the fans of this show its dissapointment after dissapointment.

Im straight if that info is important for overall enjoyiment of this show

It’s a lazy way to show that they’re super duper mad. It would be better if it’s like the scene in Hercules where Hades gets mad and wipes out a forest. If they do get mad, they wipe out an entire city block or at least the building they’re in, it establishes they’re volatile and dangerous when angered. Instead, all they establish is that all this is a big bluff, and nothing will come of it. In essence, the Seven Deadly Sins are a bunch of teenage girls that need attention, and will let everyone know it when they do.
I'd like that when Vox crashed out during the song "Stayed Gone" and the entire power in Pentegram City went out. I thought something similar was going to happen in season 1 when he got defeated...but no.

I was annoyed when all the overlords say something along the line "let's promise never to speak about what happened" meaning that season's 2 story doesn't really hold any long-lasting consequences that are going to roll over to season 3. Besides Viv just outright admitting itself, this is just further proof that the Vees plot in season 2 was just an added storyline put in.

I hatched a theory:

Have you ever wondered why there are so many gay people in Vivzepop's depiction of hell? So many in fact, that they do pride parades there? It's simple really...

While nobody knows what actually gets the residents of hell redeemed, we have one, one and only, who did get redeemed: It is Sir Pentious.

Notice, that he is clearly straight. And while Vivzepop does tell it safe to think of him as "Bisexual", this is simply not the case, as he only had romantic relathionship with a WOMAN!

Simply put: to be redeemed, you have to not only become good of heart, which he did by departing from sinful life and sacrificing his life for his friends, but also be STRAIGHT...

Bravo, Vivienne
Within the scope of the show Sir Pentious has been shown as nothing but a British straight white cis male.

The only minority status the average viewer not hooked up to vivz twitter could really assume him to be with any basis is autistic.

yeah might aswell not watch it. you simply would not understand the kino deep narrative woven below the surface level story, for instance you would be left scratching your head at the various homoerotic references that only patrician fans and lorekeepers perceive such as charlie and vaggies musical number in season 2, many average low iq viewers are quick to assume it is just a song about how strong their will is to have survived together for so long in hell when in reality its about how charlie and vaggie have sloppy lesbian sex under the sheets where they do kissing cuddling and scissoring. such references would fall upon deaf ears to the average viewer as they are not perceptive enough to see the high iq storytelling that unfolds within viv's genius. my advice? go suck dick for cock and come back when you want to hear a real story worth hearing.

Viv's philosophy can be summed up as "Don't you just hate straight men".

The only character that I can think of that is without a shadow of a doubt even conceived by Vivienne as a straight man, is Adam.

And I don't think I have to explain that Vivienne poured her heart and soul into making the character as unlikable as possible.

"I'm the original dick! All dicks descent from me!"

There's a couple of men in Helluva Boss that are confirmed straight; Vortex and Wally....which are easy to forget about since they're rarely in the show. Most of the characters in these shows you wouldn't know the sexulity of unless you take a look at the pride merch.

And with Adam, Alex Brightman (the VA for Adam) said he thought Adam was bi. Granted, Viv never said that herself, but she also hasn't said that he's straight either. What I've learned is unless it's confirmed in the yearly pride merch, the sexuality of a character is left out in the open.

Helluva Boss went of the rails in season 2 but Hazbin Hotel is fine if you watch it more like a children show that doesn't cares much about stuff like internal logic or plot consistency.

The good way to make queer cgaracters is how Disco Elysium or Cyberpunk did - Harry is bisexual, same as, allegedly, Johnny Silverhand, or many of romances, but the reason that they are not hated for that is BECAUSE THOSE CHARACTERS ARENT DEFINED BY WHO THEY FUCK WITH. Even those that have these quirks about their own sexuality, like Judy Alvarez, have OTHER THINGS, and theirs storylines don't involve around who they wanna fuck with. Shocker! 😯

Anyone wanna tell Vivzie there are better ways to make male characters unlikable that don't involve Andrew Tate impressions?
