Mega Rad Gun Thread

there was a gun show this weekend and i was looking for a cheap scope for my cheap 22 rifle thinking i can snag a solid used rifle scope. I know a new one will cost me about $75 so i'm just kind of comparing against that in my head. Yet... the show was absolutely overflowing with extremely outdated dogshit scopes that don't even have branding on them that all look beat to shit and worse than the pellet gun scope currently on the gun. You can go up to a booth that has a bin full of shit that they didn't consider worth their time to price and they'll act insulted that you have the audacity to low ball an unpriced and unmarked 4x scope in a grab bin without lens covers. a 1.5x leupold pistol scope for $250? in 2026? Like, no lens cover, no rings, no accessories, just the fucking glass? Does heart medication turn you retarded or something? what the fuck are these guys smoking?

so when i saw a 4-12x bushnell scope off some random guys table for $50. lens looked good, racked fine, came with rings attached, worked better than most of the shit i was looking at besides the leupolds and such, under the loose price range i have in my head - i get home and i look it up and they sell basically the same model of scope new for $55.

:stress:

I don't bother with gun shows anymore.
The last decent one around here charges $15 entry and wands you before entry.
Fuck that.

Imagine being this guy not knowing what they had and how much it was worth.

i mean honestly the guy that sold it to me was probably the only person who actually looked up the price of the thing because he was actually trying to get rid of it, the vast majority of those things are priced like they have sentimental value even though they're just a bucket of obsolete unmarked and unpriced goods at a bazaar

You are all forgetting the best part of the gun show, the table of NRA hats going for $29.99 a piece and the taser guy zapping his shit every 10-15 seconds.
Really I only go to gunshows a a form of nostalgia these days, long gone are the tables full of ww2 surplus priced so that a highschool senior could actually afford to walk out with something.

Last gun show I was at I came out -$12 and in a bad mood, not including gas. Half the people there smelled like shit and the other half like laundry detergent. Stuff was expensive, dirty, busted, old, wack, and generally fucked. Lots of $900 "custom" AR builds with Amazon bullshit and just worthless crap. Also like half the tables are literally ran by gun shops so it's just the same shit for the same prices I could see any other day. Fucking hope they can't afford to rent the space anymore and have to quit I hate that shit so much

Gun shows have been shot for a long time.

  • Overpriced Anderson parts kits w/ Temu accessories
  • A geriatric asking selling Lee Enfields for the price of a used Honda Civic
  • Gas station knives
  • A jerky vendor peddling his mysterious meats
  • An Asian man selling tasers
If you don’t have all these things at a gun show I’m pretty sure it tears a rip in the fabric of reality.

Oh, I almost forgot.
All the shows around here are flooded by niggers with their baby mammas trying to straw purchase a gun for them.
The amount of people who reek of pot needles getting told by dealers that they won't sell to them is numerous too.

Definitely a non-zero number of people to prey on for these charlatans to set up booths. You know they wouldn't be there if they didn't make a profit at each show.

Probably helps explain why poors are using airsoft optics from Amazon, they go to the show and see that and don't know any better.

My favorite part of modern gun shows are the body armor vendors, here you can witness the vendor trying to sell niggers and mexicans Chinese made plate carriers and "US military plates" (no joke they usually look the same as this image from aliexpress)

The most recent gun show I went to was one of those traveling circus types where it's usually always the same people, aged and retarded.
The boomers are aging and finally lowering prices, they aren't bothering to cannibalize one another's tables before the show anymore and they're bitching that nobody is buying. The desperation as they set their second foot in the grave has begun.

Question since my search-fu is failing me: has anyone ever made an MP5 retractable stock (in the style of the HK ones) with some kind of clever folding cheek riser/anything but those steel bars?

Not like something that clips on, but is actually retained and flips up a cheekpiece when the stock is extended and stows it when it's retracted. I don't think the logistics are impossible but does seem like it would be expensive since it would involve spring loaded levers and some very clever design.

Has anyone put a frt in a 308 HK51 clone (ap51)?

No, I don't think the need was present since the retractable stock was employed by entry teams who used gas masks and otherwise they had the option of using a fixed stock. For the cops using them stateside, I don't think feedback was collected and they just got used to/never actually trained with it just like with the folding shotgun stocks.
I would love to say that the innovation of more widespread MPfaux ownership could lead to that but now it's more of a nostalgic style piece that I don't think anyone will bother changing.
