That can't be right! Phil just got his new Pokken Tournament controller that works flawlessly and never drops his inputs!

This has to be some sort of display error from Patreon. Maybe a few generous Patrons dropped, a few less generous ones joined, and it was just slow to update? I'm mostly doing mental gymnastics because I can't cope with the possibility that someone's been giving Phil $134 per month.

seems like you never heard about BSV. he just gave phil 200$ few days ago, and another "fan" gave 100$ at the same time.
and what does phil do after receiving 300$+ in a few minutes?
he bitches about his hard life and his bad financial situation.

I do not understand Phil's aversion to cooking. It is how we connect to our culture and our families. I also do not understand what his perception is of his audience. I feel he hates and detests then on some level.
I cannot help but get the impression that Phil is absolutely miserable, but he is paralyzed to change due to his own stubbornness and laziness.
Is it weird I want to pity and punch Phil at the same time?
I think this is why I am so fascinated by him. The dichotomy (this may be wrong word and my English is garbage) of the dynamic.
For Phil, once he has suckered people to the point that they will go along with whatever he says or if they are not showing themselves to be financially beneficial, he will treat those people like the lowest form of humanity. There is zero genuine appreciation.
The only time I really want to let him have a right cross is when he uses his bully pulpit on stream to mock and mercilessly grind down somebody he has just banned unjustifiably. Otherwise it's perfectly entertaining having his childish salty crying as background noise while I workout.

*First time archiving so I hope this works out.

No idea if this is the real Sebastopolqueen but what struck me was the response. Someone who once made TIHYDP videos feels remorse (for whatever reason) and comes to apologies to Phil. What is he met with? Some dick licker accusing this guy of having some mental problem from some unknown past event. Phil does the most damage to himself but some of these fans are just as toxic and paranoid as he is.

Also in the random thoughts section KG posted a picture of his 5 year old nephew and too many people are asking questions about the kid. Really suspicious considering it is KG and nobody on that forum ever cares about his posts.

I think this has become abundantly clear in his mannerisms when he plays a game. There's no sense of wonder or enjoyment in anything he plays anymore. What would trigger positive emotions in a person doing this for a hobby is overshadowed by his constant awareness that he has to somehow continue to cobble the scraps he's thrown from supporters into some kind of living. For gaming hobbyists and the vast majority of enthusiasts, games serve as a temporary escape from regular life. For Phil, however, they're a prison; the choices he's made and his unwillingness to adapt to a changing online marketplace in his "field" have resulted in him not being able to do anything else without being forced to make uncomfortable sacrifices to his lifestyle. I think all gamers have at least one time in their lives where they entertain the fantasy of doing that as a career, if only briefly. But I also am pretty thankful that I've never had to know the stress of being forced to play video games every day with the stress of knowing that's how I'm keeping the lights on.

His mindset toward his fans is likely not far from your assessment. Look at this from his point of view; he depends on these people to pay his bills. There is no certainty that next month will bring a set amount of money into his pockets. He constantly has to beg them for what little pocket change they can spare, aside from the few whales he has giving him absolutely ridiculous amounts whenever he cries hard enough. Imagine if every day, you had to spend upwards of 90 minutes begging your boss to pay you; also, imagine if you had to periodically make short reminders for your boss to continue to pay you, via acknowledging them when they do so. This would wear down your inclination to your job no matter your interest in what you do. Beneath his fake exterior and at the core of all his irrational behavior, is a core of cynical resentment. Phil resents his fans for being a necessary evil in his life, and likely resents his life in general. If he were being honest with himself, I think he'd agree that he traded away his dignity long ago for his chance at Internet fame doing something that he considered a hobby. We always see most easily the privileged few for whom a gaming career works out, but then we always see the stars which burn brightest. The reality is, so many more fail at a career like this because there simply isn't room in the gamer/streamer marketplace for the mediocre to survive; there's room for the top echelon to make a substantial living, and then a little bit more for those who are able to scrape by on passion and a loving fanbase. I spent a little bit of time in Phil's July 4th stream yesterday before going to a cookout, and his demeanor is without gratitude or appreciation for the people who allow him to do this full-time.

Irresponsible speculation time: It may not be this year or the next, but eventually the well will dry up. Eventually the kids giving him money will have to start funding their own lives, and they'll cease to be of any use to Phil. People talk about the concept that new people will come in to fill those holes left by ex-patrons, but how many professional streamers can you think of who are in their late 40s or 50s? The target demographic of Twitch as a business is younger than that, and young people won't be interested enough in watching an old man fumble through Call of Duty 14's online multiplayer mode to fund it. Phil is on borrowed time with this stage in his life, and he needs to be actively working toward his exit strategy. If he continues trying to desperately fight the passage of time and cling to his former glories the way he has since he slowly fell out of mainstream relevance in 2012-2013, he will continue down a path that will mire him in misery. He needs to start downsizing his life a bit, and preparing to re-enter the workforce. Hell, he may even be able to work for YouTube or Twitch in some capacity, and make it a career transition related to his current field. It's going to be tough to explain the online presence he's made for himself and he will have to learn to live on a very different budget; but people are amazingly resilient when forced to make tough decisions in order to make ends meet.

I do not understand Phil's aversion to cooking.

Because he can't do it well. Remember bacon grease.

I cannot help but get the impression that Phil is absolutely miserable, but he is paralyzed to change due to his own stubbornness and laziness.

100% accurate assessment.

Is it weird I want to pity and punch Phil at the same time?

Nah, I think everyone who learns about him for the first time has this feeling at some point or another. You'll get over it, trust me.

He needs to start downsizing his life a bit, and preparing to re-enter the workforce.

I'll take "Shit that will never happen" for $500, Alex. Don't get me wrong, he does need to do that, but this is Phil we're talking about so it's never gonna happen.

Does anyone know how tall Phil is? Judging by his instagram pics of his man tits i would have to assume he is obese for his size. I always assumed he was manlet height, but I could be wrong.

Is this old? I don't think anyone posted this one. It really shows that something is up (der) when Phil's stream didn't crash when he claims it crashed. It's so particularly cringe-y seeing how he acts around her in this one video.

Phil's wonder and enjoyment boil down to three reactions:

"Wow, dood, just look at these graphics."

"DAT ASS ACK ACK ACK ACK ACK"

"Wow, so [echoing plot point he just read or heard]?"

He says all three of these things in the same just-above-monotone voice that he says everything else in so it's obvious that he doesn't really care. It's surprising that he doesn't even care enough to perv on female characters anymore. He doesn't have the same vigor he had when he was lusting after EVA in MGS3. Listen to his half-hearted attempt to appreciate Cammy in USF2:

"He didn't want that! He mashed it! RUB A DUB DUB I DETECTED A SCRUB!"

Let me make this clear: I am complete fucking ass at ST but even I can recognize that the guy didn't mash.

One thing to keep in mind about ST is that it has a very particular kind of tick throw game. So let's say I knock you down. I go for a crossup or a meaty (Meaty is performing an attack as your character gets up), let's say you block the crossup/meaty, I can then go for a throw or I can do a blockstring. It's a 50/50 situation. You either expect the throw and try to tech it. Or you can continue to block and potentially eat the throw. Or, you can try to reversal and reversal's are different for every character. Bison for example can only reversal with his super which means he's pretty fucked in that situation. But the Shoto's (Ryu and Ken) can do a Shoryuken to reversal. Reversals are either Supers or Special Moves. The meta game can get pretty deep as you can tell. Like, I get a knockdown and act like I'm going for a tick throw setup, only I knew you were going to reversal so I blocked and then punish your ass.

the Honda player recognized Phil's setup with Cammy and reversal'd him the first time with Honda's super. He then reversal'd him the second time with Honda's command grab (the Ochio Throw).

For a guy who claims to be a "Former PRO fighting game player" this is like day 1 shit you should know for ST. It's even more embarrassing considering his experience with ST.

Maybe he has Alzheimer's? Or maybe he's just stupid? Or maybe it's Maybelline?

He's six-feet tall. I know this because he mentioned his size in a video one time when he was trying to intimidate a detractor.

he has some balls to ask people to tip him more because he is having some failcation is the most fucking ballsy ive seen him if not getting tips/cheers/bit and boops or whatever the fuck caould cause DISASTER, guess what? you dont go on vacation?!
