Inactive Andrew Dobson / Tom Preston / CattyN - STOP DOING SEXIST CRAP

Actually now that I think about it, I seem to remember in one of his little strips about "THINGS I LIKE NO ONE ELSE DOES," he specifically mentions how he likes 1776

Too much effort for Dobbear. He probably watched this and took it at face value.

Nah, Robot Chicken is too adult for Dobbles to watch, it makes fun of everything he likes. (Besides, it's funny, you know Dobson can never find humor.)

After all, why watch Robot Chicken when you can watch Steven Universe or Adventure Time?

Dobson doesn't know how to be creative. That AzP pixel art is even likely edited from existing pixel art or game sprites. Honestly I don't even know why Dobson likes Minecraft considering he's not even good at recreating shit. I mean, when he said he recreated a level some some old game he could've worked out a way to do it in 3D (for instance, a 3D recreation of 1-1 could be interesting and has probably already been done multiple different times). Instead he built a wall and slapped whatever game level that was up on there.

He uses a freaking map editor to make his stuff. So it's even lazier, it's not like he's in game slowly building this stuff up, one layer at a time, brick by brick. I would not be surprised if MCEdit had a way for you to just import your pixel art.

He "knows" history from musicals, confirmed:

And the first thing he thinks about it is "racism."

After his whole bitch fit over the Dunkirk trailer for not teaching him history, it really wouldn't surprise me if his sudden historical "prowess" just means he watched 1776 yesterday.
To me it felt like Dobson copied a top 10 list from some clickbait "news" website some time in the past and decided to share it again yesterday. Only he won't admit he got it elsewhere because he wants to appear smart.

How much you wanna bet he likes Lady in the Water because of that one critic character who hates everything that ends up getting brutally murdered? It's probably one of his biggest wish-fulfillment fantasies.

Funny enough, most people say that character is the only likeable one in that shitty movie.

I think that comic is by far the biggest insight into how bad his tastes are. I will admit to enjoying Voyager, but who the hell likes Kim as a character? And of course, having him praise the most hated (And sexist!) Metroid game of all time never gets old.

Nero Wolfe is a bit of a weird one there though. Comes out of left field. Don't have any opinions on the books or whatever mind you, just seems to be totally different from his normal pop-culture void and his description of the character makes him seem significantly more appealing than any character Dobson has created.

Did he think the Other M shitshow was about a woman showing emotions and not the director having this odd hang-up on Samus not being a stereotypical Japanese waifu to the point that she was scaled down to be smaller than the men? I guess the bits of characterization she had in Zero Mission, Fusion, and other games flew over his head because she's not crying out loud in them.

He's a follower of Movie Bob, so I'm pretty sure he's parroting his opinion of it.

But chances are he likes it because it came after Metroid Prime, which was initially a hugely controversial game due to it being an FPS, but most people moved past when it came out and it turned out to be a really excellent game, true to the original sidescrollers, and improving on the atmosphere when possible (Plus, they got amazing results, considering they were using the Unreal 2 Engine.); he is not one of those people and chances are, never tried it or could not get past his red-hot hatred of FPS games. So when a Japanese development team promises a game that is not an FPS...well, he seems all too willing to look past how sexist and awful it was.

Interesting. And this was before his "Blue Balls - The Social Justice Warrior Bear"-phase. I didn't play Metroid: Other M. But what I gathered, was that it is the version, where Samus is depicted as a whiny bitch with Daddy Issues. Which sheds an interesting light on how Dobby views the emotional range of women. Okay, we discussed some pages back his boner for Voyager. Didn't watch Lady in the Water. All I heard was that it is a steaming pile of pretentious horse shit. Nero Wolfe sounds interesting. Maybe I look up this guy. But I can see why at least the Fat and lazy part appeals to Dobson. The TV Show of Legend of Zelda? You mean this awful shit?

Oh, and poor Jeremy Brett. Among fans of Sherlock Holmes he is one of the most highly regarded actors to have played the role. That's hardly something no one cares about, or no one likes. But most likely that's Dobson's boner that he had for Great Britain. Don't know how he views Great Britain now, as a super woke SJW, because the Brits are basically Satan for the History of the British Empire, Colonialism and stuff.

But all in all, this little comic strikes me as Dobson tried to come across as someone with special tastes. And ends up providing evidence that he has pretty bland tastes, or really likes godawful stuff.

For a while the Nero Wolfe TV show was kind of popular with people in my parent's age group, so maybe that was his exposure?

Nero Wolfe was a detective of sorts who sent his aide (the narrator/main character) to do the actual investigating, they're kind of Holmes/Watson in a way. They're good books and an alright show if you like that sort of thing but tired of people rehashing the same Holmes stories over and over.

His deal was that he could solve any crime without having to see the evidence himself. It's been a long time since I've read it/seen it, though.

Of course blue fag loves other M, strong indepentent women dont need help from fedora wearing balls of lard,im sure most beta losers love other M for the same reason

What's strange about that is in order to have that idea he's got to be stuck in the period it was announced and never even looked at the games. Yes, the Prime Trilogy are "FPS" games but they aren't designed like CoD or anything like that. Structurally they are designed exactly how Metroid typically is but in a 3D space. Besides the 3rd person perspective and being way more linear, Other M isn't far removed either.

That's basically the equivalent of assuming Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga is about trying to bang lolis with giant anime tits because you saw an "RPG" like that once.

Metroid Prime 3 is an excellent example of Samus showing emotion without saying a damn thing or being unable to do her duty. But Prime 3 just had much better characterization all around. We see Samus working alongside her fellow bounty hunters, and later we feel bad because they've been corrupted and Samus has to kill them. Other M threw a bunch of random men on board the ship and we're supposed to care (but don't) about some betrayal bullshit because we're informed Samus worked with one of them in the past.

I have no words....

Lady in the Water is the movie where the titular Lady is a being called a Narf, right? Like the thing Pinky from Pinky and the Brain used to say?
