Actually now that I think about it, I seem to remember in one of his little strips about "THINGS I LIKE NO ONE ELSE DOES," he specifically mentions how he likes 1776

Too much effort for Dobbear. He probably watched this and took it at face value.
Dobson doesn't know how to be creative. That AzP pixel art is even likely edited from existing pixel art or game sprites. Honestly I don't even know why Dobson likes Minecraft considering he's not even good at recreating shit. I mean, when he said he recreated a level some some old game he could've worked out a way to do it in 3D (for instance, a 3D recreation of 1-1 could be interesting and has probably already been done multiple different times). Instead he built a wall and slapped whatever game level that was up on there.

How much you wanna bet he likes Lady in the Water because of that one critic character who hates everything that ends up getting brutally murdered? It's probably one of his biggest wish-fulfillment fantasies.
To me it felt like Dobson copied a top 10 list from some clickbait "news" website some time in the past and decided to share it again yesterday. Only he won't admit he got it elsewhere because he wants to appear smart. After his whole bitch fit over the Dunkirk trailer for not teaching him history, it really wouldn't surprise me if his sudden historical "prowess" just means he watched 1776 yesterday.

Did he think the Other M shitshow was about a woman showing emotions and not the director having this odd hang-up on Samus not being a stereotypical Japanese waifu to the point that she was scaled down to be smaller than the men? I guess the bits of characterization she had in Zero Mission, Fusion, and other games flew over his head because she's not crying out loud in them.

And the first thing he thinks about it is "racism."
For a while the Nero Wolfe TV show was kind of popular with people in my parent's age group, so maybe that was his exposure?Nero Wolfe is a bit of a weird one there though. Comes out of left field. Don't have any opinions on the books or whatever mind you, just seems to be totally different from his normal pop-culture void and his description of the character makes him seem significantly more appealing than any character Dobson has created.
Nero Wolfe was a detective of sorts who sent his aide (the narrator/main character) to do the actual investigating, they're kind of Holmes/Watson in a way. They're good books and an alright show if you like that sort of thing but tired of people rehashing the same Holmes stories over and over.Nero Wolfe sounds interesting. Maybe I look up this guy.
What's strange about that is in order to have that idea he's got to be stuck in the period it was announced and never even looked at the games. Yes, the Prime Trilogy are "FPS" games but they aren't designed like CoD or anything like that. Structurally they are designed exactly how Metroid typically is but in a 3D space. Besides the 3rd person perspective and being way more linear, Other M isn't far removed either. He's a follower of Movie Bob, so I'm pretty sure he's parroting his opinion of it.
But chances are he likes it because it came after Metroid Prime, which was initially a hugely controversial game due to it being an FPS, but most people moved past when it came out and it turned out to be a really excellent game, true to the original sidescrollers, and improving on the atmosphere when possible (Plus, they got amazing results, considering they were using the Unreal 2 Engine.); he is not one of those people and chances are, never tried it or could not get past his red-hot hatred of FPS games. So when a Japanese development team promises a game that is not an FPS...well, he seems all too willing to look past how sexist and awful it was.
Metroid Prime 3 is an excellent example of Samus showing emotion without saying a damn thing or being unable to do her duty. But Prime 3 just had much better characterization all around. We see Samus working alongside her fellow bounty hunters, and later we feel bad because they've been corrupted and Samus has to kill them. Other M threw a bunch of random men on board the ship and we're supposed to care (but don't) about some betrayal bullshit because we're informed Samus worked with one of them in the past.Did he think the Other M shitshow was about a woman showing emotions and not the director having this odd hang-up on Samus not being a stereotypical Japanese waifu to the point that she was scaled down to be smaller than the men? Lady in the Water is the movie where the titular Lady is a being called a Narf, right? Like the thing Pinky from Pinky and the Brain used to say?He "knows" history from musicals, confirmed:

He doesn't. All he has said is giving into populism will be a mistake for the planet and Trump is going to turn Earth into Venus for backing out of the Paris accord.Stephen Hawking supports Trump? Isn't that kind of a big deal for the literal smartest man on earth to endorse you and your views?
