Taking steps to hide yourself is one thing, but until now no one had any reason to believe they'd be stalked, doxed, and harassed by a global news organization. This is a milestone of a precedent.

This was somewhat my point but I got a little bogged down in the history lesson. violent memes have long been a thing as well as memes where people stick a logo on someones face as they get punched ect. It's old as the hills, but the moment the President of the United States uses a meme, it's suddenly a serious call to violence.

I mean it's something technically the President shouldn't do too often. But even Obama got into his memes as well so it's not like it's not been done before.

The "this guy is only 15 years old" comes from some rando 4channer who said he browsed the supposed person's Facebook. No evidence just people have been running with it

Let me explain:
HanAssholeSolo claimed trump retweeted the gif he made. Someone pointed out to him on r/the_donald that the one trump retweeted was actually some other dudes and he had just ripped it off, Han defended himself by saying "this version was ripped from me can't you see?" Despite it blatantly not being his.

CNN saw his thread, got Hans IP from reddit and doxed him. A 5 minute read through the comments would have showed them that the one trump retweeted wasn't Hans version, but they did it anyway (likely since Hans made a version, even if it wasn't the one trump retweeted).

Edit: none of them being 15.
