*sigh* There goes my chances of having a normal sleep schedule and being a functioning member of society.
Oh well! I didn't need all that stuff, anyway!

I suppose we could organize a Kickstarter to put Chris on a Lego cage and set him as a tourist attraction. Whole families would come, parents would buy bags of pickles so their kids can throw them and :julay: at OPL.

Since I don't see anyone mentioning it, anyone else catch Chris trying to be a real artist and putting an edition number (3/2000) on the drawing? He probably has zero fucking idea what that even means but he saw it somewhere and slapped it on there.

Makes me wonder what 1 and 2 are, though.

That's not an edition number. Sonichu was invented in March of 2000

Sonichu seems to bring out the worst in Chris.

Since sharing Sonichu on Facebook, he's demanded "MULTIPLES OF THESE", posted pictures of Wild and Simonla going at it, offered to sell his art and then damage it if it's not bought for the right amount of money (CREASE DANGER) and ranted about VAGINIAS, OVARIES, AND SIZE-C LACTATING TITS in an auction description. And this is after months of radio silence.

I wouldn't say this is the start of a new saga, I'm not that optimistic, but I do believe we're having a glimpse of Golden Age Chris and that's pretty cool for those of us who sadly missed out on most of it.

Sorry for my poor choice of words, what you are saying is what i meant, captain, that probably someone reported copyright infringement or something in the like.

What is the most likely scenario is that ebay takes notice of auctions that reach high dollar amounts. Someone earlier said bots do that, that is correct, but all they do is alert staff to examine the auction specifics, not close down anyone's account. This is the point where action was most likely taken. I seriously doubt this warranted any response other than that.

Or maybe they check up possible "scamraising", checking up the IP-Adress and voila! Chris has been bidding on his own auction?

EDIT: Maybe this was what you meant?

Thanks for confirming this. I've never used eBay and I was wondering earlier if they took action on suspiciously high-dollar auctions. I imagine this kind of thing would happen a lot if they didn't.

His account might be on some sort of cool-down lock. Most of what happens on eBay is done by bots and scripts, but when an actual human needs to get involved it can take a while. I reckon Chris will be fine as long as he doesn't go off on an angry eRampage against customer support - which of course there's no possibility he would do...
It's understandable from the viewpoint of eBay when you have multiple new accounts constantly raising their bid, it's really suspicious.

Like Marvin said earlier, is Chris dishonest enough to bid on his own auctions so as to drive up the fucking price? Yes. Is he smart enough to think this scam up? Not in the slightest. Just accept that what has happened here is what is visible on the surface. Newly registered accounts bid a worthless item into the stratosphere. That alone is reason enough to shut the auction down. Not to mention the liability ebay would assume is letting someone make a $10000+ profit off of copyrighted works. There was never any possibility that this auction would reach it's end date intact.

In the interest of economics, I browsed through the Cwcki and appraised of of Chris's art. The following is how I'd price some of Chris's work. Of course, this is all subjective, but I believe this is more or less an accurate picture of market price (specialty buyers notwithstanding). I'm assuming everything here is the original copy.

.
You are way undervaluing these artifacts, nay, relics.
To think, items all of us have documented and analyzed for years... in your very hands.
Think of it this way:
Sonichu Medallion - The Ark of the Covenant
Attraction Sign - The Ten Commandments
Sonichu Issues - The Declaration of Independence

I think you are completely undervaluing his art. I don't have autism but I'm not sure is your joking or what.

Like I said, this is the market price. For someone who may have heard of Chris before, but is otherwise an interested party. I'm guessing most of us are specialist buyers here, so that's going into another price bracket entirely.
