One of the reasons I love returning to his T-14 Armata rants because it proves how stupid he actually is. There is certainly an argument for what a given vehicle lacks, how it works in a given environment, and in what conditions (lol Russia mechanical stupidity), but are you really going to try and pull certain arguments when even the damn US is using the same design philosophy with the M1E3? None of these ideas are ever created in a vacuum, none of them are premised on the idea of technological supremacy and insurmountable technological dominance. In the end it all comes down to logistics and basic grunt usage which escapes the totally more superior minds represented by the Pig's drunken insanity - and hilariously shot down by Nicholas Moran of all people.

There was so much wrong with that video. Saying the T-90 had the same amount of torque as a Honda Fit- lol. Russia at the end of the day is more or less stuck with the T90 and T72. They have the factories and parts. The reason the M1E3 works for the US, is that it's still an Abrams at the end of the day, you aren't reinventing the wheel entirely for a vaporware vanity project

The US tank fleet was all about the 90mm gun from 1945 till ~1958 when they seriously began to look at alternatives.

By 1960 the OG M60 was around and had the US clone of the L7 in it.

Loads of M48s got upgraded to the 105mm M68 gun later.

I would wager that he got in because during this time period was the likes of Potential History (faggot who started the bomber Harris worship and making fun of anime, usual normgroid things, pompous nigger worshipper etc. I could write many things about him but I digress), Who was making videos that were short, popular history, mostly targeting the elusive “wheraboo” who would be on Facebook posting random bullshit. Most of it in my view was discussions spurred on from war thunder (see spookston’s channel) or other games at the time. These were distinctly Redditor content creators and thus when piggy came onto the scene around just before/during Covid, it was just more of the same. However as the space expands, you have the likes of not a pound of air to ground or Alexander the ok at length citing many sources or a 3 hour video by Combination K who is the only person (autistic foid) to start bringing previously untranslated Soviet sources to light about oil pipelines for the Soviet military during the Cold War, it’s tough competition. When you start getting into the nitty gritty about avionics or guidance systems, actual doctrine, night vision, these are things that require actual effort. It’s a lot easier to get on your knees and make up shit to worship your amorphous racially ambiguous masters in order to own “da evil vatniks”. Also the likes of “tankies”, actual far-right individuals etc have been able to have their say more so all content isn’t derivative of old boomers being paid a handsome sum to perpetuate myths to keep up the mythos of the west or however the burger is flipped. Nvm, Libaboo is a perfect term for this.

This is why he is making longer and longer videos, on subjects well outside of his speaking matter. His politisperging, talking about Star Trek etc is showing he clearly cannot rely on the same formula. People also have Ukrainian war fatigue as it comes to a attritional standstill. As you said, people turn to mostly museums or people who clearly have the know-how to study enough to bring to light their own conclusions.

The idea of doctrine is foreign to David because it requires him not to drink himself until he pukes all over his gunt. This is too much effort for a slob like him. Also I’ve noticed very often number crunching autists (even ones who say they aren’t, I.e defence analysts or OSINT, even some political commentators) tend to not have a grasp to understand context to something. Hence why piggy’s t14 arguments only make sense if you live in a total vacuum.

Funnily enough I don't consider it a fault specifically of the Pig because, as you point out, it's a common trait among most people interested or invested in such topics. Concepts like doctrinal use and its theorizing are simply boring, they lack the glitz and glamour gun and armour stats provide, and require a good degree of nuance and appreciation of one's biases to fully internalize. It makes reading some recently published military history works hair pulling at times because plenty of these writers fall for the same trap - and it happens whether the author is an implicit Wehraboo, Westaboo, or Tankie. I am not looking forward to what the future holds in this area because critical thinking has seriously fallen off in favour of claiming headlines and shilling certain narratives.

With writing, it is simply everyone cannot follow "rule of cool" and need to create some justifications for every little thing around when it bogs down the story. It is TNO-esque, where everyone wants their alt-history story to somehow succeed if their concept is just right/has enough numbers crunching autism. It is just terrible really. With piggy in particular, he has other people who can dumb down doctrine for him. Animarchy is doing some lacklustre series on the soviet air force (and combination K defends him for some asinine reason despite his hatred of Russians and communism in general) so he palms off anything too long to read to him or others (falconfightertales, digi, some discord mod) to pass it back to him and he takes it as fact. I cannot believe he genuinely sits down to read any documents regarding doctrine beyond blogposts and some random wikipedia page. He is one of many lolcows, where sloth and laziness proves to be their downfall. Tbh, I'm maybe not black pilled enough, but I actually can find some entertainment in his videos, just haven't watched for a good half year.
After he said it, I started listening a little bit differently, and you can tell he's probably actually sober.

Good faith view: He has, as stated by him, done some work for a defense contractor before, at minimum.
You can't do that without being able to get your shit together.

He sounds sharper right now, and more snappy.

I'l buy him being sober/occasional drinker for as long as I don't get evidence that makes it obvious he's off the wagon again.

(Regarding the rest of his opinions: At least he makes it obvious what his bias is, which is more than 80% of the "creators" do. I can respect and appreciate not having to look for a bias because his bias is clear from the outset. Gives more time to be critical on the substance, not the delivery)

There's people who actually grew up in the Soviet Union who talked about this. This is actually one of the reasons the Soviets fell behind the United States economically, because they did not use computers or other such electronics in the civilian.
