YouTube Historians/HistoryTube/PopHistory

I wish more creators still subscribed to this mantra. Hell, I wish youtube itself still did.
The most fun videos are the ones that are just winging it. Back in the day, we didn't have studio grade microphones and 4K cameras. We had mom's webcam. DSP was filming his game play for YEARS without a capture card.

will never subscribe to any YouTuber that asks me to do so. We all know how to subscribe, there's no way to broach the subject without it coming off as begging to me.
Unfortunately it works, based on my experience with other channels, that actually drives up the conversion rate by sometimes 5-15%,

On shortform content its actually higher.

its fucking stupid but with the way the algorithm works, if you catch that lightning in a bottle where you get views for once, you need to have that beg session or you risk losing the one chance AI gods gave you to establish a viewerbase.

You can never go back:

That 2007-2011 Windows Movie Maker era really is gone.

I did not know that Felton had a PhD and was a published historian. I assumed he was just a slop merchant.
This video is giving me conniptions.

Firstly, my warning bells go off immediatly whenever someone accuses someone of "misinformation" rather than being a liar.
Then his first point is a lie, in fact he might just have googled how many admiral the royal navy has and gone with the AI answer which is forty.
Where does the AI get this number? Reddit. His source is reddit.
According to an actual source the Royal Navy has as of 2025 as many as 134 admirals and flag officers

He never refutes anything else, just goes on about Felton having an agenda. I'm wondering what agenda this dofus has because he's constantly in agreement with Felton that there isn't enough ships, but I guess he thinks Felton should have been less rude or something.

Here's why having two carriers is a disaster, because when you plan for 1 to always be in retrofit, you're not really prepared to defend yourself when the other is in for maintenance.
Imagine defending this shit.

Not a Mark Felton fan, but this ass really gives off lazerpig vibes. Big 🤮

Video just got pushed on my reccomended and I gave it a watch. When I started hearing him repeat "it just is, ok!" and "misinformation" constantly, I knew he was a redditor. He has a subreddit and a discord server. His elbonia video has lazerpig in it.
At the end of the day, I think he's more angry about the fact that mark felton swings right instead of swinging left. If felton didn't make up chuddy branded bullshit and instead made up globohomo bullshit, this callout video wouldn't have been made. I'll take whatever both of them say with a big grain of salt. TLDR: sounds like a faggot whenever he talks.

Warning: this post has been labeled dangerous misinformation made by a russian propagandist bot, o algo. Dasvidanya comrade!

>Find an interesting Cuba video on youtube
>Shills his new documentary series on dictators at the end, cool
>It's on some literally who site that requires a subscription to even view
>Nobody bothered to pirate it or stream it elsewhere
>yt-dlp won't let me download the videos without an account

Well, that's disappointing. Anyone suggests any similar videos that aren't a pain in the ass to watch/download? Interested in dictators in general, most interested in Iraq/North Korea.

This is adjusted to this thread, but I decided to try armchair historian game "Master of Command" (there is a demo on steam) and I am positive shocked how good it is.
Think of it as a combo of Empire Total war (where is my Empire 2!!!) and batte brothers.
The art style that armchair use in his videos works really well with the art in the game and looks great.
The game is set in the seven years war so if you like that period in history, check it out.
