Now that I let this sit my :autism: has shown up and I have to put on the tin foil hat. This is a little too perfect right? Was not getting great bits on stream, wanted extra money for vacation, and a "huge emergency" that can easily be fixed just happens to come along. This solves too many problems for Dsp. I bet he uses this as an excuse to not play Danganronpa too. I was about to just call bullshit but his videos were taken down.

I'll wait and see but this has "EMERGENCY NEED SUPPORT...everything is find now but thanks for the cash I didn't really need but am now keeping for my vacation" written all over it.

Edit: Post above showed up as I posted. Danganronpa is no more.

considering his ironclad analysis of why the rockstar claim is bogus, i would not exclude the possibility of him striking himself, :optimistic::optimistic::optimistic:. it would be truly magical if he did it himself. his emergency video is mathematical: here's the problem, here's why i might not totally be screwed because of how bogus the copyright claims seem, here's how i'm gonna fix it, and gimme more money.

edit: clarity

I wonder if he's become a little concerned about the state of his Patreon as well.

Did the Atlus copyright issue get him a surge in bits? I'm wondering if he's just going back to the same well a little too quick.

Listen alot of this thread is about Phil crashing and burning which I think is something we all want if only a tiny bit. However it would be just as great if in 20 years when I have ignored Dsp for a long time and lived my life to tune into Twitch or whatever future website exists and see Phil sitting on that same couch, in that same house, bitching about lag and dickless trolls hurting his "business."

What would be the real victory, Phil losing it all or Phil living the rest of his life in a hell of his own creation?
Wow dude it's not like he did something to you personally

He's currently saying that he doesn't believe it to be legit on the basis of the strikes being issued by Rockstar. He believes that if the strikes were actually real, they would have come from Take Two because they are the publishers of GTAV. Wikipedia has Rockstar listed as the publisher for the game and Take Two as merely the distributor, so is he miserably mistaken on this?

He's definitely using the wrong words, but if DMCA strikes have previously always come from Take Two, then it would at the very least be unusual that Rockstar would be doing it directly themselves this time.

I don't know if that's the case, though. That's why I say IF.

Anyone know about these things?

He turned me into a newt.

Don't want to put on my tinfoil hat just yet, but it's interesting that this happened right before DSP is planning on taking his week long vacation.

Almost makes me want to believe he's doing this to try to extract extra money on twitch/patreon before he takes a break.

Wouldn't surprise me if this magically gets fixed right before he starts his vacation and he starts uploading his backlog to DSPGaming.

From the basic bitch searches I'm doing there's a lot of people saying "Rockstar" and a lot of people saying "Take Two" in reference to copyright strikes, so it's hard to know if both companies do it, or if they're just interchangeable to people.

Claims are for part 1 in each of these games
  • Bully
  • GTA 3
  • GTA: Vice City
  • GTA: Liberty City
  • GTA: SA
  • GTA 4
  • GTA 5
  • Red Dead Redemption
If you go to their wiki pages you will notice one thing, they are all published by Rockstar not Take Two, so his idea that since the claims are from Rockstar makes no sense.
Wait, a second. So not counting the Atlus strikes, would this mean he has no less than eight strikes on his channel? Or are they counting as one gigantic strike?

I checked, Take Two only published GTAIV which is why in previous years DSP received strikes from Take Two. Rockstar published all the games that DSP was flagged with today.

That doesn't mean that Take Two wouldn't be doing the DMCAing, as they are the parent company of Rockstar. A recent example of this is the cease and desist they issued against a GTA 5 modding software.

A hidden aspect to this is that DSP has 7 days, not business days, but 7 days total to get the situation cleared up otherwise DSP Gaming is shut down for good.
The strikes were handed down quite late on a Friday afternoon. Curse, YouTube, and Rockstar/Take Two are most likely not going to bend over backwards on a Saturday and Sunday for The Great Goutsby.
And Curse is already occupied with getting a separate strike from Atlus rectified.
So this potentially may not even be looked at until Monday at the very earliest...leaving just a few days until it all could come crashing down for DSP.
