I think Rowling got done dirty by journos in this case. IIRC she was saying something about how stage play Hermione could be played by a black actress (normal in theater where you have less casting options than Hollywood) and nobody should bully her, then the press runs around announcing "JRK says Hermione is actually black all along, RACISTS BTFO!" and her woke fans start insisting the books themselves say she's black.

Remember that time Billy Dee Williams made some Jungian reference about Lando, and the journoscum decided the headlines would be "Williams says Lando is genderfluid pansexual!!!" You don't hate journos enough, it is physically impossible.

It could have been journo meddling yet again, but I remembered that Rowling's statement on the Niggermione issue was "A black girl can play Hermione because the books don't say she's white". Which makes it sound more like encouraging people to interpret Hermione as a shitskin so the series becomes more diverse, rather than acknowledging the limitations of live performances. This statement explains how her fanbase eventually twisted her words into "the books say she's black".

Rowling racebending her characters is also not out of line with her other statements, like retconning Dumbledore as gay and saying he had an intense sexual relationship one of the other male Hogwarts teachers. That one was definitely not journos putting words into her mouth.

Bluesky users complain that Twitter is full of bots, but Bluesky's probably got it worse. I have an account that has over 300 followers, and I'm willing to bet only that maybe 30-40 of those are actual people. I've looked through some of the accounts and they are just obvious bots, and they usually are very new accounts with very likely stolen pictures of random OnlyFans bitches. Or they're a Palestinian scammer. Or just other random bullshit.

There is an absolute epidemic of Palestinian scam accounts on Bluesky and the hilarious part is that as often as BSers (badum-tish) will reshare the profiles of these fraudsters, they rarely actually make any donations themselves. This is because Bluesky seems to be a hub of the poorest, queerest and most endangered human beings on God's green earth, if their constant tears are to be trusted; they cannot spare even a penny, for every cent they save must go towards their gooner toys and weed supply ticket out of whatever country they live in which, conveniently, is always on the precipice of mulling down trannies en masse any minute now.

And one is not permitted to even question the authenticity of these accounts unless you want to be labeled a sympathizer of Israel, even though it feels like common sense to question how people living in an active war zone have time to follow hundreds of furry fetish accounts - nay, the sin of wrongthink is too grave to commit even among those who celebrate vice and hedonism, and thus anyone expressing the slightest heresy will quickly be made an example of. These are absolutely the kinds of people who would've loved being present for the Salem witch trials, especially knowing they could have actually had women they disliked directly killed with little to no evidence necessary.

Honestly, BSers will do anything they can to disrespect Twitter because they have some sort of idiotic one-sided rivalry with the platform even when Bluesky itself suffers from the same problems (and often in worse ways). I don't think either platform is any good, but at least you can find disaster updates for your area on Twitter depending on where you live. On Bluesky, by the time you'd read about a tornado in your area, you'd already be hearing the wind beating down your walls because the post was buried underneath a mountain of hairy anuses belonging to dog rape fetishists and pearl-clutching about wearing masks to protests.

This article, while written by a troon (Archive), goes into good detail about creating a social network on the AT Protocol that is completely separate from Bluesky, much like the Chudsky proposal I made.

I wouldn't call Dumbledore retcon, she already told one of the directors that Dumbledore was gay when he tried to write a female romantic interest for him.

I think she made the "wrong execution, right idea" with black Hermione. Racebending happens in theatre all the time, it's simply too baked into it for anyone to care.
